Well, we just got the go ahead from the rents to book a trip to Vegas in November for our 17th anniversary - November 14th - 18th!!! We plan on staying at the Golden Nugget for a couple of nights, then use some of the LP's I have playing MyVegas for a room for one night on the strip. This is where I wish Aria or Bellagio offered a comp night via points.

We've stayed at NY NY, but not at any of the others. Right now in the running are Monte Carlo, Mirage and Mandalay Bay. We've never stayed at any of these. I am leaning toward MB because we really don't spend much time at this casino when in town, and it is also the closest to the airport.

I was hoping I could get some insight from the wise members of this board!

    Thanks!!!

Put me in the camp for the Mirage. I like the casino, atmosphere, rooms, and the pool there, though the pool may not be important in the middle of November. Plus, it's pretty much in the center of the Strip, so you can go just about anywhere pretty quickly.

BTW, I'm going to move this thread to the Strip section since it's more about the hotels than a MyVegas reward and there may be more feedback there :)

I like Mandalay Bay the best! Just fun to hang out there, great casino. Will you have a car? If so, do it, great place. If not, I may steer you elsewhere because cab fare can get pricey.

Mirage is great too. NYNY is a step down.. I wouldn't pick that, unless it's the only one available or something. Make sure you check the MV calendars.

Thanks Heather! Yes, we will have a car. I did check the MV calendar and it's available. Now I really should book this weekend because the Marathon is that weekend too. While we will be staying downtown the day of, I know how crazy it will get. Thanks for the info!

I was there last year during the marathon... we just weren't outside during it, didn't notice anything. 90% of things you do inside in Vegas anyways haha.

because it's for november i would choose mirage, because of location (Venetian/Bellagio/Flamingo/TI).
the vibe in the mirage casino is a bit better.
i think the mirage also "costs" less points.
if somebody in your party likes low limit craps, casino royal is just across the street.

    Mirage!

    1) Mirage - Nicest base hotel room of the three. Best location.
    2) Mandalay Bay - Nicer hotel/casino than Monte, but location is bad. Way too far south.
    3) Monte Carlo - Better location, but the worst hotel/casino of the three

I think Mandalay Bay is fun- I have never stayed at Mirage, but I know that is a great place to stay as well.

I just used a MV at the MC, and they let me upgrade to a Monaco Suite for $40. Biggest complaint against MC is no wi-fi in the rooms, and severe lack of drink service in the casino. Yes, the room was showing some wear and tear, but I was looking for clean and inexpensive and it fit the bill completely.

Thanks everyone. I was originally thinking MB, but now I am thinking center strip. We might as well go for Mirage. Thanks for your advice!

SHOCK - thank you for moving this thread. I thought it might be better off in MYVegas, but realize now it was better for this section.

I love the bar tenders at the bar right near the front doors, they are quick and amazing! Anywhere else in the casino sucks, but since I am a VP player, I love Monte Carlo.

Out of the three, I would say whichever fits your point budget (what else can you buy?) I just picked Monte Carlo for 2 reasons, 1. I couldn't afford the MB and 2. I am switching to the Cosmo after 1 night so we will just hoof our luggage with the tram to Aria then down the back elevator at Vdara. Gonna be a little walk, but that is ok by me!

I agree with your statement about the drink service VegasDave. I truly felt like if your weren't a table games player, you were a second class citizen. We walked over to NYNY and never went thirsty while playing.

Of the 3 you mentioned we have stayed at Mirage, very nice. My wife is ready to stay there again.

Personally, if Bellagio offered a free night via MYVegas, I would have already redeemed it as well as Aria. I have enough points to cover MB, Monte Carlo, NY NY, Mirage, MGM, etc. I prefer to be center strip but my husband wants to be close to the airport since we will have an early flight the next day.

I am a MB guy, all the way. Except...when nothing is happening within the resort.

It is a lonely place, when there isn't a major convention or event happening. You might want to check the convention calender first.

In this situation. I recommend Mirage.
