I've been a long time lurker but have never posted. Going to Vegas next week to meet up with a friend I met in June. Met him at TI at the craps table., nice guy. We are both divorced and just kind of bonded over a few days. 3 months later we have decided to meet again. Staying at Wynn this time. Roll in next Thursday til Monday. I'm just curious if anyone on here has ever met someone in Vegas that turned out to be something a little more.

I know a couple that met in Vegas. He lived in New Jersey and she in Kentucky. They kept in touch then visited each other for a about a year. Then he moved to KY and they got married. They've been married about 8 years and have 2 kids. What happens in Vegas doesn't have to stay in Vegas!

I know of a couple who met because of this board in Vegas. For several years, they went separately to Vegas as part of the board's March Madness meetups. They were just friends for the longest time. I know I personally tried directing him (as did a few others) toward starting something up with her, but they finally decided on their own to try being more than friends. In the end, they ended up getting married with a good chunk of the March Madness group attending the wedding in Vegas.

New Years 1990 Mirage. Was at the bar near the BJ tables. Look over and saw a girl looking my way. Made eye contact. Went over a talked a little and from that moment on we were inseparable. Went home, fell in love, dated a short time, moved in together and got married 1 year later. 6 months after that caught her cheating and was able to get the marriage annulled. Cheers!

I can tell my story as: I went to Las Vegas for a convention back in 2004... met a woman at McCarran airport... we went for dinner... spent the night together... three days later we were married at one of the chapels on The Strip (and yes, still married).

Nothing like the above stories, but their is a cocktail waitress and a female bartender that we make a point of getting together with every Vegas trip. Lunch, dinner, or just drinks sometimes. It all depends on their schedule.

Sorry, no interesting stories to tell.

I don't know if this qualifies, as "meeting someone in Vegas that turned into a relationship," since we actually "connected" on-line through a singles site before actually meeting. This was back in the late 90's, and after exchanging probably a hundred e-mails over several months, including a few phone calls, we decided to meet.

It looked like Chicago was pretty much mid-way between Atlanta and where she was living in Canada; but when she said, "I hear most of these cyber romances don't have much of a chance," we decided to meet where nobody has much of a chance – Las Vegas, of course. Actually, picking Vegas for a long distance date was pretty low risk, as I knew we'd have something fun to do regardless of how things worked out. I've had plenty of first dates in my time, but there's nothing like meeting your blind date at baggage claim at 1:30 am after a cross-country plane trip! (Both our flights had been delayed.)

Ever see that chick flick "You've Got Mail" with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan? Well, my date was carrying a long stemmed red rose, artificial to be precise, as identification insurance. I think the movie stole that scene from us! Fortunately, she was exactly as advertised, and attempting to control the awkwardness of the moment, we took a cab to Bally's, got our suite, and immediately went down to the casino bar around 2:30 to get acquainted!

(No, I hadn't reserved a suite; but despite no fewer than three phone calls in the weeks prior to arrival to verify the reservation and to make sure they knew we'd be arriving late, we got the dreaded deer in the headlights look when attempting to check in. Don't you just hate it when the desk person utters "uh oh" and disappears into the back. To keep it short, they had run out of standard rooms and we lucked out.) We got along great during the next four days, spent a lot of time playing blackjack, and even managed to relax at the pool and see a show. Overall, it was a fantastic trip, we got together again, and even went scuba diving in Cozumel, but that's another story.

Predictably, the distance between us was a real barrier; and the twice-a-day emails eventually dwindled to maybe one or two per month. Of course, the fact that she got married probably had something to do with that, but we remained friends. Most regrettably, she contracted one of those "made for TV tear jerk type illnesses" and subsequently died. Nonetheless, that trip remains one of my better Las Vegas (and dating) memories.

If the duration of the "relationship" is one night, does that qualify-lol?

There's one girl I met probably 2-3 years ago (actually we met on the flight out there). We hit it off, due in part to the free drinks on the plane. Then we shared a limo to our respective hotels and met up a few times during the trip for dinner, drinks and etc.

We still occasionally exchange texts. Does that count?

No harm in trying, you are starting off better than most! I sometimes think the love of vacations is what keeps me and my gf going!
