Okay, I have been in Wynn once - a year after it opened. I got my red card, ate at the buffet, dropped maybe $40 in a slot and left. I enjoyed the beautiful-ness of it.

Since then, I get these intermittent marketing emails/offers, but always toss them because I have never been interested in staying. Until today.

I know this is a generic offer, but it gave me pause because even though I never thought about staying there, it seemed nice. Here is what is included:

For $368 (plus fee/tax), I get two nights, two tickets to Le Reve and two buffet passes.

Now, the Le Reve tickets is a draw for me because I was going to surprise my Mom with this show for her birthday anyway. Secondly, we enjoyed the buffet years ago and third, this trip is all about giving my Mom LUXURY for her 75th birthday. Whenever I take her with me to Viva, I always put her up in a nicer places. I currently have her at MaBay, but I know she would swoon if we pulled up to Wynn.

What do you guys think abut this offer. My finger is almost at the button. Guess I'm just looking for that urge to push it.

    Thanks!

Seems like a good deal. I have gambled just a little bit at Wynn and I mean "little" but every quarter I get room offers for $129 a night during the busy months to $109 during the slow months. So if you factor in the cost of the show and buffet included in your offer is works out to be pretty fair.

It seems to me that you think it's a good deal, and that's all that really matters. You only have so many years left on this earth. If you don't stay at Wynn you'll hear yourself saying "I wish we would of stayed at Wynn with mom. She would of loved it". So go ahead and book it already. And have a great time.

I totally agree. Don't worry if others think it's a good value. If you think it's a good value that's all that counts.

No question that this is a great deal (o.k., pretty darn good). If you break this down by the "ala carte" prices this would be a smart move. Hope you enjoy the show...we thought it was great.

I suppose it all depends on what kind of deals and/or comps you’re able to get elsewhere. If CET or Mlife or whoever are going to put you up in a big suite for free and take care of your show tickets and meals, then this offer doesn’t sound too enticing (from a value perspective anyway). But compared to rack rate, or even casino rate, I think it sounds like a great offer.

I’m certainly not going to be one to try to dissuade anyone from staying at Wynn. I think it’s as good as it gets in Vegas. It’s beautiful, comfortable, clean and has a staff that’s unrivaled amongst the other big casino resorts in town (IMO). The rooms are great. The casino is nice – you won’t find cleaner felt or machines. There are some wonderful places to grab a cocktail and relax and some excellent (if a bit “safe” from a creativity standpoint) restaurants. Plus there’s a big ass $28 million statue of Popeye for crying out loud!

    POPEYE_crop.jpg

The only real negatives that I can think of are that they won’t comp your drink (other than coffee/soda refills) while you’re playing bartop video poker, everything is a bit more expensive than most places and Encore occasionally gets a bit rowdy with the club crowds in the wee hours of the morning.

So, if you can handle being overcharged by 45% instead of 40% for everything and don’t mind seeing twenty year old gals stumbling out of XS, heels in hand, at four in the morning, go for it!

lol carve was the one who got me excited about staying there too.

I received a fishing offer from them in the mail for three free nights and I took them up on it. Checking in in eight days.

    Have fun and enjoy!

Myself and my wife decide to book one of those "Fishing offers" back in july and stayed there for 3 nights. My initial intention was to check in, grab the FP offer, use it and head back down the strip. It didn;lt quite turn out that way. We loved the place so much that I almost forgot to visit the Red card desk and get my FP.

I took my mom and dad up there for a visit (72 and 71 years old) and they LOVED it there, as I'm sure you mom will too! Have a GREAT TRIP!!

Wynn just sent an offer for Super Bowl Weekend because I signed up for the "insider" the deal only runs through January 31. So Sunday and Monday are kind of high but I said what the hell and changed from the MGM to the Encore. I just printed the conformation and reading the fine print I find out the 1st 3 nights I get a free breakfast Buffet in the morning.

Even better! When I called to make the reservation at Wynn, the rep (Diana) was very cordial, thorough and helpful. She mentioned a better rate at Encore for a resort king suite and asked would I like that - told her YES! A nicer room for a lower rate? Who wouldn't?! She also booked my Le Reve tickets with seat assignments.

    I. am. stoked. :woohoo:

Encore is beautiful. You and your mom will love it, I’m sure.

One caveat, though: make sure you ask for a quiet room when checking in (facing north and as high as possible) if you are light sleepers. The bass from the clubs reverberates up into some of the south facing rooms (even fairly high up) and can be a bit of nuisance.

But, if you can sleep through anything (or don’t mind having the TV on low or some other white noise while you sleep), ask for a south facing room. There are some great views down the strip from those rooms.

You will love The Wynn and that is a great deal....the tickets alone (and that's if you buy 30 days in advance and get the $30/ticket discount) would have run you $208+tax for two tickets.
