I've read several times about couples playing on one person's card to amp up their comps. Is this practice possible with two copies of the same players card played at the SAME TIME by two different people? I would think that the powers that be would monitor such activity and could void any accumulation of points when a players account is being used by two people at the same time. Any knowledge on the practice? Thanks in advance! MK

That's a practive I learned here on VMB. We play two copies of the same card and we are usually sitting beside each other. I even hit a roay flush recently while playing on my wife's card, no problem.

Played on one card this last week. Friend got a jackpot and a W2G, took the card out before they came. There were no issues at all. They don't seem to mind at all. After all, does it really matter to them who gets the points, they are still getting the profit.

The only catch with playing multiple copies of the same card is that only the first card entered can do things like download free play. Otherwise, no problem. The wife and I use copies of the same card everywhere.

What everyone else said. They dont mind at all. It saves them from having to comp out 2 people. So it doesn't cost the casino a thing. They might end up giving the card holder a better room then what they should have gotten. But that still a money saver VS having to give out 2 rooms. The only downside is if you take them up on a comp and just play on your card without the help of someone else your offers will take a shit or go away all together.

So if you are normally worth $2K in ADT to the casino when playing the double up. $1K per person but on the same card makes you "look" like twice the player = better comps. Book an offer and just play alone and only give them $1K worth of ADT and your offers will reduce or go away all together. On their end it looks like you are low playing them since the last time you were there you played twice as much. So I only do the tag team at clubs where I would only play with 2 people and thats usually the wife. We mostly tag her card since I go to Vegas without her, but she never goes without me. Hope that made sense.

I read this on a TR earlier and wondered on how the logistics worked. Is it simply a case of player 1 inserting the card, then removing and passing to player 2? I thought the card stopped registering and accumulating after release?

Apologies for a dumb question but I signed up to a reward card 2 years ago and lost it instantly, so not sure how this all works.

Each machine must have the card in it. Just ask for two cards in each name at the Players Club.

With MLife, my wife and I have two cards with separate numbers, but they tethered them together for all accumulation purposes -- tier credits, express comps, points, etc.

No, we're talking mostly about someone having 2 cards issued for the same account and having two different people use them in different machines at the same time.

Yes, the casino can tell you are doing this.

No, they don't really care, everybody does it, has a friend or a spouse play on the same account. Only way I can possibly see it being an issue is if you're playing penny slots and you somehow made friends with someone who's playing $100 slots for a couple of hours on your card, they might have someone take stroll through the HL slots and check it out.

I have used two cards at almost every property I have attended. Something you may try that we have is use one card for a full day... and the other card for the next day. We did this at the orleans and really played very little 2 mornings in a row after breakfast and wife and I both ended up with comped room offers. She rarely plays enough for a free room so I am assuming this is what did it. We did this mainly because we know if we ever go with family we will be staying downtown or on the strip and if we need rooms we can book orleans for them. Only downside was this time we going and needed orleans rooms for an expo happening and it happens to be stationed at orleans so they were booked.

Also look at the property. If it's a property that has nicer rooms... then playing on 1 card maybe what you want to do to try to get better offers.

Thanks for the comments guys. One last thing though...do I simply roll up and ask for 2 cards? Won't they ask behind the reasoning why as surely they will know the intention behind this.

I appreciate comments alluded to that this is perfectly fine but I just wanted to be sure before I push it in November.

    Thanks again.

    Same. Very easy to do.

They don't bat an eyelash for two cards. I always ask for two because I invariably lose one

They won't have a problem with you getting two cards.

    Enjoy.

They have even asked me if I wanted two cards. Sometimes they just give you two cards. I keep getting new cards because I forget to bring one with me sometimes.

For MLife? If so, they aren't linked. Everything is the same for my wife and I except we do get different marketing offers via emails.

I ask for 3 cards usually never had an issue, you always lose one during the stay, in addition many people play more than one machine so using it in multiple machines is not an issue, the last trip we took our daughter all 3 of us played on the same card in various spots of the casino, no problems existed. Not sure why my wife never signed up a CET, for MLIFE we both have cards but they are linked together for comps, I assume CET does the same.

This is the important point. Linking the cards shares tier credits and express comps. However, offers and marketing offers are NOT shared. Accordingly, the smart move if one person is a heavier gambler, is to put all the play on that card, as it will generate a better offer for your next trip.

When my DW gambles, she 100% of the time uses my card. I have never once had a pit boss at MB refuse to rate both of us together, they are happy to do it.
