    My Trip Report

I know I'm a day early, but wanted to get the thread set up so I can just do some updates, first TR on VMB!

    Background-

I had been to Vegas about a dozen times in my 20's and early 30's, but took a 9 year hiatus ending Nov 2013 (due to young family). My sister and I do not live in the same city, so we get together every quarter. Throughout our Vegas hiatus we would take short road trips and go on casino/shopping trips to the Seattle, Washington area. In Nov 2013, we finally got on a plane to Vegas once again, had a blast, and assumed it would become our annual trip. What I was not expecting were the offers from the casino's that would follow after that trip. Looking back, I didn't use player's cards in Vegas a decade ago, not even sure when they started them. In any case, I was shocked at how generous the offers were. As comparison, here at my local, I've been a top tier player and my offers have been exactly $10 in free play per month. And, they don't want me putting out that kind of action all at once I guess, so they break it into two $5 coupons to be redeemed twice in the month. Yep, welcome to our Canadian casino, lol. We have been dedicating most of our play to the Cosmopolitan and to CET. The Cosmo has been sending 3 free anytime nights, hundreds in free play and some F&B. CET is sending dozens of great offers all the time, this time we're taking advantage of some show tix. It took my brain about 1 nanosecond to calculate that the $$ I'm spending on a hotel room in Tulalip (roadtrip) was about equal to airfare to Vegas, the rest of the spending would be the same........and so, our quarterly trips to Vegas were started.

    The Plan -

I really can't get over how much Vegas has changed! What do you mean they have de-themed the Luxor -- how do you de-theme a pyramid? What do you mean the Excal is in need of an update and is filthy and germ covered now? The world of how the comps work, hosts etc is entirely new to us as are the new hotels, restaurant options etc. As much as we like the gaming experience in Vegas, we're determined to add some new experiences every trip, including one show and a new restaurant. Thanks to the many posts on VMB, we've got some reservations and a to-do list in mind, going to become a Vegas Tourist this trip! I expect this trip for Vegas to be very busy....Britney Spears is playing Wednesday, and I notice Cosmo is largely sold out, and Saturday is the Mayweather fight, and more sold out rooms. We thought it best to make dining reservations....just in case.....

Here is what we're hoping to get to this trip, there are lots of first time things for us.....

    - limo transport from airport (or possibly car....arranged by host, not sure what to expect as first time)
    - Britney Spears concert Wednesday
    - Gordon Ramsey BurGr for a quick bite
    - Giada's for lunch
    - take a trip up the Eiffel Tower at Paris
    - Gordon Ramsey Steak for dinner (sticky toffee pudding for dessert)
    - Check out the linq, with special note of Kitson (retail), Sprinkles (especially ATM) and polaroid photo place.
    - Mon Ami Gabi for breakfast
    - shopping at fashion show mall (have done before...ok, well, every trip to be honest)
    - shopping at premium outlet north
    - stop at Bellagio to get an mlife card to finally be able to redeem some myvegas stuff, check out conservatory possibly.
    - Wicked spoon buffet (have done before)
    - The henry for Prime-rib (have done before)

    - We are strictly slot players and will be splitting our play at Cosmo and CET.....last trip we hit Gold level at Cosmo and have our sights set on Diamond at CET (slot Gods willing). Before I'm shredded on the board for that comment, I KNOW player card colour doesn't mean anything to most, but for someone who will only spend a max 11 days in Vegas this year, it is a good gauge to our coin-through for us, we have never asked a host about our ADT. This trip represents day 6, 7 and 8 for the calendar year for us in respect to our play in Vegas (and on our player cards). We have been appointed a host at Cosmo who we've used to book this trip, and we have an inside sales rep on our account I think at CET, but don't use them.

    - We will usually deviate off properties at least once...Venetian, The Palms.....maybe SLS....we'll see what we can fit in!

If you are still reading, thanks for hanging in there! I will be meeting my sister at the departures lounge in Vancouver as she has arranged connecting flights through here. Flight leaves at 10:15 a.m........many pics to follow.........tapatalk Gods willing!

I concur with the idea of throwing a trip to downtown if you have time. Even for a few hours it will be a nice side trip. Especially since you said it's been 15 years. Good luck, can't wait to see the pics, big wins headed your way

Thanks everyone for the well wishes! Not sure if the flash floods on the strip may change some of our plans, if they do, downtown it will be!

I once took a 3 year hiatus between Vegas trips. Ever since then its been at least 2 trips a year on average. Nice to read that the Vegas bug has bitten someone else as well.

Hope you have an awesome time.

Sounds like a great plan and looking forward to the trip report. What casino is that in Vancouver that gives you free play? I lived there 5 years ago..well, until 5 years ago but used to frequent the Boulevard in Coquitlam (now Hard Rock) and occasionally made it out to Richmond to the River Rock. In those days, they didn't even have slot cards LOL.

That is River Rock Casino! Ya, $5.00 twice a month is hardly worth the postage, lol!!!
Since I've seen how good the Vegas offers are, it's made the local completely uninteresting....I saved my $$ and will take it to Vegas instead and see if I get much more play with it!

What about visiting the SLS, to ask if they will reconsider giving you the Free Play they had originally offered? :)

I may stop by, but will not worry about the offer thing for now. I'll be back likely in November and so I can do it through their new terms....I'm okay with that. May check it out~

Our trek has begun! Bags are checked, no lineups at security or US customs and met my sister without issue! Catching a quick bite at the Priority Lounge in Vancouver airport now, vacation has officially begun!

Going great so far! Flight was perfect, turned out to be a Disney plane, lol. We were chatting with one of the flight attendants during boarding, later she came up and told the drink gal we were her "special guests' and to get us any drinks and charge them to her...,wow, so kind and unexpected. So, by 11 am we were eating Disney cookies and washing them down with cranberry and vodka. Seems so wrong, but somehow right on a flight to Vegas!

Our car was sent from the Cosmo, our driver helped with the bags, and best part, no long hauling!

Checking in was smooth, no lineup and as arranged by host, got the terrace 2 queens with premium view!

    now were ready to go....let the games BEGIN!!!!! ImageUploadedByTapatalk1410382814.584757.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1410382829.824420.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1410382843.722449.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1410382856.106732.jpg
