On my last trip a copule weeks ago, I stayed at Aria which I booked thru Mlife. It was an Aria offer of discounted room and $100 credit. When I checked in, I asked if I could get an upgrade, but no luck on a suite. However, they put my in a high floor with a city view instead of the standard room. When checking out, I went by the player's club to see if I could get anything comped, which was a negative. I asked about my $100 resort credit and they said since I was in a city view room that it didn't come with a credit. I was in a rush to get the airport so I didn't stay to argue, etc.

I was curious if this is typical if you book an Mlife offer, can an upgrade at the front desk throw that offer out?

Technically NO it was a COMPLIMENTARY room upgrade. I would assume some hosts use this as
an excuse to pad their numbers. If you would have pushed the issue and you still can they would
probably refund your 100 credit. If all else call your CC company and dispute the charges.

It shouldn't make any difference. Your upgrade was given by the hotel and your comps by the casino. They operate independently for the most part.

It sounds like a fairly typical guest issue that you could have resolved amicably if you had the time to.

With resort credit, any room charges the credit was applicable to should have been removed from your folio pretty much in real time. Have you checked your bill? Are you saying you had charges that weren't removed? If you have a copy of your folio and can identify the charges you should still be able to get it fixed.

wigwam is right, if the front desk gave you a view room, that should not affect the resort credit (which is offered by the casino). The upgrade was at the front desk's discretion; the casino didn't pay for it.

I was given $250 resort credit at Aria a couple weeks ago, got a complimentary upgrade to a strip view, ate all but $8 of the $250 up. Only thing on my bill was restaurant tips which don't qualify for the resort credit.

    You got screwed. Challenge it.

You ran into a lazy or dumb ass employee.

But, before you go with that, were there some charges from your trip that were missing? Usually with the $100 credit they just wipe out certain charges and you do not see them.

I'll have to take a look at my bill, but I don't recall any charges missing/reduced. Normally, when I check out I go by the front desk if there isn't a big line. There was a huge line that morning and even at the vip check in.

When I do go to front desk, they always wind up printing up a second bill that has stuff taken off; so I didn't think the credit got automatically applied. But maybe that's because of express comps.

This should not have happened. Since most front desk employees don't deal with offers, they won't think to transfer it over. If you get a complimentary room upgrade, you should also verify the offer transferred with the host on duty. Only takes a couple minutes to fix I do it all the time.

Next time just go directly to the mlife desk of the host on duty and they will take care of the resort credit, plus any additional comps you may have qualified for. They can then have an updated folio emailed to you, if you need a receipt. No need to go to crazy long checkout lines anymore.
