    My Trip Report

    Just another week in Vegas.

Here is a brief TR since i go solo, don't see shows, or fine dine, but i've been going to Vegas since Tumbleweeds were blowing on the Strip.

I was comped for the week (8-24-8-29) at PHO (also at the PHO in Nov.). I decided to keep my HHR but i asked the clerk if i could be placed higher up. He said no problem and i got room 3608. It's on the back side of PHO but it was fine with me. The room was what i expected since i stayed there a few years ago.
I actually had a great view of the eastern valley with Hard Rock, Hilton, Paris, Wynn, etc. Loved the big TV and PHO had MTV (didn't watch the live VMA show but it was repeated during the week). The worst thing about my room, and scariest, was i was in the Laurel & Hardy room. Not a fan, i'm a Stoogie, but there was a big pic of Hardy overlooking my bathtub and the shower.

I ate lunch/dinner at Gold Coast, FSM, Coca-Cola, and Flour & Barley, Pin Up. On Monday morning i took the Duece up to SLS (i posted about SLS in the Strip thread). After i came back from SLS (didn't stay too long), i grabbed the shuttle from Bally's to Rio, then walked over to GC.
GC has always been fine for a cheap buffet. But it may have been a combination of different foods mixed in together, but i needed an Adult diaper with me soon thereafter. It finally wore off later in the night thankfully. The attendant at the Paris sports book knew me well.......the sounds and smell of a upset stomach....LOL.

My gambling consisted of certain slots, some video poker, and some free play. I spent most of my evening hours at PHO, Paris, and the Cromwell. Once again, the Cromwell was top notch. The ladies were gorgeous, super friendly, and did i mention gorgeous?
I played some nickel VP at Cromwell and played for quite a while. Then i went back over to Paris to play some penny and quarter machines that i like. Blazing 7's, Plants & Zombies, King of Dragons, and some stacked wilds.

I went to all the Strip hotels except Tropicana, and also took the shuttle to Rio/Gold Coast. I also spent some time at SLS, Riviera, CC, and Slots o Fun.....but very briefly.

Treasure Island has a couple of lawn sprinklers now to bombard the ships.

Casino Royale is still doing construction.

The Bellagio summer show has live birds to entertain you as well as a live Boney James musician from 5-6 pm.

The Strip was busy all week as well as time share type people that would never give up. I go solo, so they never bother me, however, is you want to avoid them just walk alone. If your with someone just split up for a few seconds until the coast is clear. Later on, repeat, lather, and rinse.

MGM looks nice but the Lions den is what i really miss.

NYNY has a nice rendition of steps out front for people to sit down. I mentioned this to CET about putting benches at the Linq for people to sit down which isn't on another property like a bar. People do a lot of walking on the Strip, why not have an area at the Linq outside the shops that you can hang around in between. The only true area you can sit down is next to the fountain, but then it's too busy for most of the evening.

I do most of my gambling at CET but i got some free play at Luxor through e-mail. On Wednesday afternoon i went over to Luxor and used the Zuma machine. They have these at many casinos. I punched my code # in and about 4 hours later i cashed out at $350. Looking at my points on MiLife, perhaps a 2 night comp stay at Luxor in 2015 is in the cards?
I am comped again at PHO in November, but my ultimate goal for 2015 is a split......2 nights at Luxor, 3 nights at CET comped.

I had some pizza at Flour & Barley and Pin Up take out. Very good. The slices are huge and only $4 at FB and $5.25 at Pin up (both cheese). The Pin Up slices are a little bigger and 2 people can use one slice.

The Pool at PHO is nothing to get excited about, but both pools were busy and hopping to the music. I spent little time at the pool but i did for a little bit on concrete and a couple of fake palm trees.

Planet Hollywood is the only CET hotel that doesn't honor RW credits in their gift shops/snacks/sodas.

Planet Hollywood hookers use the South Elevators, the same ones i use.

I was hoping to use my $30 in RW credits from SR, but apparently a thanks but no thanks by the ladies.

Finally, on Sunday evening, just a few hours from arriving into Sin City from LA, i went into Paris casino, like i normally do, and all of a sudden i was approached by the Paris Police (OK, security guard). He asked me for my ID. I'm thinking two things......i do look young for my age, maybe he's looking to see if i'm 18, or, i have been told many times that i look like Keanu "Point Break" Reeves and Mike "Austin Powers" Myers and he wanted an autogragh.
Upon further review, i give the guard my Calif.ID and he relays the info up to the eye in the sky. Meanwhile i'm standing in the middle of the casino, many people were wondering what was going on (as well as me).
I asked the guard what was the problem knowing that in my mind i'm totally innocent...........LOL.
A few minutes later, which seemed like forever, he apologizes to me and says i look like someone that is wanted for criminal activity. Whew!!
I saw the same security guard a couple of times during the week and we exchanged pleasantries. He couldn't disclose what the guy is wanted for, but on 8-24-14, i came as close to jail as i have ever been.....:wink2:

Here is what was looking at me for a whole week in the bathroom:

May not be a full blown report...but why not in the TR section? This is one, and a well summarized one to boot!

And yeah, my g/f and I have "temporary breakups" now around those timeshare people...:evillaugh

If you remember the nickel VP you played at cromwell, please share...but then again, I will also see cromwell in the next week or so!

Edit: Ask for a move, and you shall receive! :evillaugh

Thanks. The nickel VP machines are towards the back right by the center aisle on the left side (going towards the Valet) in the VP area (right after the BJ tables). I always go back to Bally's, Paris, and PHO by crossing the street where the Valet is and then walk into Bally's where the shuttle is. It's so much easier going into Bally's this way because the Paris walkway is right there and just steps to PHO. And when the Bazaar is finished, i'll use the same way.
I don't remember the name, but they are nickels with an option for Deuces DD, and spins. I was mainly playing them just to be entertained by the CW's, but upon further review i did pretty good.

I love the Cromwell. It's small and intimate, and did i mention the CW's were friendly and gorgeous? If you're playing machines, you almost have a CW at your side waiting to service you. And did i mention the CW's are gorgeous?
They all look like Showgirls. Nomi Malone..LOL.

The wife and I were at PHO the same time as you for our anniversary. We went to Westgate on Tuesday to pick-up our tickets for Rock Vault and almost took the monorail to SLS to check it out but the wife wanted to go to MGM. After hearing your report I'm glad. I agree about the awesome drink service and waitresses at the Cromwell. We spent time there almost every day and I played that same nickle VP game having some pretty good luck.
