    My Trip Report

I've struggled with whether or not to even post this report on here. I know there are a lot of people in the "Kids do not belong in Vegas" camp. So please dont post in this thread if you are just going to bash me for taking a baby to Vegas. I've seen other threads turn mean over this topic. But for those of you that have a different point of view and want to see baby's day out in Vegas its a fun read and if you are ever looking for a cheap or free way to kill some time in town I built a list of all the stuff we did.

our 3 kids love Vegas way more than Disneyland and it's cheaper including gaming losses, they were bummed when we didn't take them this summer

I couldn't agree with you more Frank. I dumped over $3K on Disney World a few weeks back.

Not going to lie...if I was baby and I woke up to see SpongeBob standing over me like that...I'd shit myself from being terrified. :)

It was a good read. Glad you guys had a good time with her there.

We took our son at 5 to Disney World, and at 6 to Vegas when we renewed our vows. He doesn't remember a thing about Disney and has never expressed a desire to go back. He talks about Vegas and asks to go back all the time! He is now 10.

Cute kid Grid! That was a great report and I tend to agree with you. I've always imagined when I have kids I will be taking them to Vegas. Funny thing is I never bring that up with my fiancee because I figure she'll just hate the idea. But the other day we were talking about condo-type places on the strip like Vdara, Elara, and Signature and she said those are the kinds of places she'll want to stay in Vegas after we have kids, so that way we'll have a kitchen and stuff. And even stranger was that I as the Vegas degen was the one saying I always imagined staying at a suite/condo hotel off-strip when we have kids. But she made the argument that it would be better to be on the strip because it would be easier to get around and I would have an easier time gambling at night if we were right on the strip. I couldn't believe she took my gambling comfort into account, I'm glad I proposed to her!

By the way one activity I would add to your list is simply the hotel pool. From what I see with my nieces and nephews is the hotel pool is one of their favorite parts of going anywhere. Though I guess your daughter was a little too young for that.

Totally agree. When Grid wrote "Wake up bright and early. As if you have a choice when traveling with your own 16 pound alarm clock." I was hooked.

    Good on ya Grid!

Sounds like you got a winner there KC! We thought about the pool. But the thought of my kid pooping in the garden of the gods pool made me cringe. When she is older we certainly will. As for a place on the strip, its a godsend when you have a kid. When we went to Disney we would have to leave the park, wait for a buss and head back to the room for naps. Total time wasted in transit was almost 2 hours for a 2 hour nap. In Vegas you are almost always 30 minutes away from your room come nap time. The strip being so condensed helps a ton!

Thats what we were thinking. Everyone says that a kid under 6 wont remember things. But you do it for yourself. They have fun in the moment and you get to have fun with your kid. I was married in vegas. I think the kid was conceived in Vegas. Her 1st vacation was in Vegas. Its now a Grid family trend.

Thank you very much! I like to call my picture style "Lion Kinging" I hold her up like Rafiki did with baby Simba. Here she is at the Blackhawks play off game

Certainly wait it out. I actually took my wife for a last hurrah when she was 7 months pregnant. She doesn't drink and we kept her awake from smoke the best we could. But the walking and heat was brutal on her!

And thank you guys for all your support! I know Vegas with kids isn't everyone cup of tea but you can do it and it can be fun! With that said, I'm still taking a boys trip soon so I can act the fool there

I don't have the baby rabies or anything (we don't have kids) but I'm the crazy Auntie who grabs-squeezes-smooches-hugs my nephews. I would definitely grab a hold of your baby and do some serious squeezing. She is cute as hell.
