    My Trip Report

I just talked to my son, who is a student at the University of Cincinnati. He has some Asian friends who invited him to go to the Horseshoe Casino in Cincinnati last night. My son has gambled a little with us a cruise last year. Other than that, he is a novice at most casino games. Anyway, his friends got him to play Baccarat with them. My son only took $100 with him, some of the money he made while working a Cooperative Job as a Chemical Engineer the last semester. He managed to turn the $100 into $1375!

He said it was crazy, in that the Player went on an incredible streak, and won 17 hands in a row. And Player won 30 out of 40 hands! I don't know much about Baccarat, but I know Banker is the favored bet to make. I know you serious Baccarat players could have hit them hard if you were there! Just thought I would share.

Awesome! Word of caution though...making a big score as a beginning gambler can be a dangetous thing....expectations get skewed.

Man o' man, ain't that the truth!

That's a good story hetzer, thanks for sharing. But I will share a story that reaffirms sindustry's statement.

I went on a football betting trip with my brother in law. He would study the teams and thought he could pick winners. I always just bet along with him.
We won 14 out of 14 games that first trip. I thought he was a handicapping god! It took about ten years to "unlearn" that first trip's experience. lol. But to be fair to him, we never got killed, but we did indeed come out losers some of the trips. Never ever replicated that perfect first trip.

Good advice! I let him know that his good fortune was a fluke, and don't start chasing something that isn't there! I've never been that fortunate.

telling him it was a fluke is too extreme. He should definitely celebrate...just keep expectations real.

$1375 to a college kid is a bigger win than almost anyone on VMB has experienced, I guarantee it! That's freakin' awesome. (But yeah, let him know how incredibly rare that was.)

Thanks for sharing the story and good for your boy!

Well he is studying chemical engineering, so I would hope he should be able to understand the math of casino gambling. Especially if P&G took him on. They didn't offer an internship to me in college when I had a 4.0 GPA in chemical engineering at Mizzou back when I tried in 2000. And more recently, they threw my resume in the trash in more recent years...yay Nevertheless, it's still one of my dream jobs... :( I'd quit gambling completely to work there.

Yes Tringlomane, my son said that P&G only took the cream of the crop. He isn't quite a 4.0 student, so P&G doesn't know that he exists, LOL! He is coming off a job at A K Steel Research Facility, where he worked along side many Metallurgical Engineers, and a few Chemical Engineers. Hopefully he will be finished, and graduate in the Spring or Summer.

Not sure but a PhD or masters may get I you into pg. If you are a bachelor level scientist or engineer it's a little harder. Product development is interesting stuff. Much better than r&d
