Hi all, My first post. I am heading to cosmo this weekend with about 1.5k to gamble. Which casinos have the best new player promotions that I can start with? Does cosmo still have its lose 100 promo? Thanks
Not sure about the cosmo 100 promo, haven't heard about that one in some time, but it depends on what you want. Caesars properties seem to offer the easiest free rooms (probably at some of their lower tier properties like the quad, harrahs, etc) where MLife seem to take good care of their higher limit blackjack players. I'd say get a card for wherever you go and play where you like the mojo. That way, you're not playing for comps, which is a bad idea. Also, hopefully, you will get an offer for a future visit, and then it'd be coming from somewhere that you like. I'll be letting it rip this weekend too, good luck!
No, Cosmopolitan doesn't do the "Lose a hundred on us" promotion anymore. Tropicana has one that is similar, but you don't get all the credits back at once so you will more likely get about half the credits back. Caesars/Total Rewards properties: you should sign up at Caesars Palace. You should get a fun book and if you put enough coin through in the first hour you might win a sweatshirt MGM/MLife: sometimes they have promotions where they give out a small amount of freeplay when you sign up, but it changes for which properties are giving out the freeplay and which ones aren't. Those are the main properties where you will likely be signing up. Beyond that it depends on how much you want to chase down any sign up bonuses, but the big thing there is: most of the properties don't have decent sign up bonuses any more. Most of the time you have to go, sign up, play a couple of hundred dollars through and then go back to their booth and you get $5-10 in free play.
Unfortunately don't have much input into the promotional side of the various programs, but if you are planning to hit Vegas more than a few times a year, you should really look into the programs a bit further than best initial promo. I agree CET Total rewards program is best for getting hotel rooms for free. Also their numerous gift card events they have. MGM Mlife program is great for concerts and events. However for player program, very tight on comps beyond what you earn for reward credits. Also for winning trips, they often will use reward credits before using discretionary comps. Wynn Red card is practically useless. However if you are a strong enough player, the service and hotel properties are exquisite. However for lower level players, the offering can be quite sparse. Venetian I would put similarly to the Wynn. That being said, I would really play somewhere you are most comfortable and often win. Might have to try out a few properties. Personally I have never been able to win at the Bellagio or Venetian/ palazzo so do not give them my business despite their impressive properties or perks. That's just my humble opinion.
I basically play wherever I feel most comfortable or win most at, lately that's been Cosmo for both but I have cards from Mlife and CET too, nice to have it in your pocket in you take a walk during the days session
On the strip I got a pair of shot glasses and 25% off buffet coupon when I signed up for Total Rewards at Planet Hollywood. Didn't get anything for signing up with Mlife, but they run promotions at different properties sometimes. Casino Royal gives you some coupons when you sign up, nothing of major value, the "free play" they give are for promotional machines where you have to win a jackpot to actually win any money. Palms just a bit off the strip also has some rotating new player sign up bonuses, but I remember them being based on how many slot points you earn the first day. It seems to me downtown has more promotions for sign ups. I've gotten free stuff from El Cortez and 4 Queens. At 4 Queens you need to get the coupon sheet they give out at the front door. American Casino guide has listings of casino promotions as well: Ongoing: http://www.americancasinoguide.com/vegas-values/ongoing-las-vegas-casino-promotions.html Weekly updates: http://www.americancasinoguide.com/vegas-values/vegas-values-report-for-august-24-2014.html Their coupon book also has coupons that are specifically for new member sign-up promotions.
Good luck on your upcoming trip! It doesn't cost you anything to sign up for player's cards, so sign up for as many as you can. I always go to Vegas with my Mlife, CET, Cosmo, Back Stage Pass, Red Card, etc. You never know where you will end up gambling, and you might as well earn points while doing it.
I suggest with CET, they are pretty generous when it comes to free rooms plus they have over 40 casinos through the country that all tie together.
Get a card in every casino you enter. Based on your gambling budget, the Total Rewards (Caesars) and MLife (MGM) properties are your best chance for comps, Off-strip, try the Hard Rock Casino; great vibe, and they have very good comps for low rollers. I play there 2 times per trip (2-3 hours per visit), and get free room offers and free play coupons. Agree with some of the posters above that Venetian and Wynn cards are next to worthless unless you are a High Roller. Beautiful casinos, but little if any comps.
