    My Trip Report

Hi all! First trip report but 4th trip this year (with another planned in november).

This would be our 3rd time at the Aria but the first time in the Sky Suites so my group and I were rather excited. Left out of Sacramento on Southwest in the morning and were in Vegas by 10:30. Limo driver was waiting and loaded our bags and were at the Sky Suites porte cochere in about 10 minutes, awesome! Walked into the lounge and went to check in while the rest of the group explored all the snacks and drinks in the Sky Suites lounge. I had booked a 2bd Aria suite and a 1bd Penthouse Suite. The reason I did this was it was my parents wedding anniversary so we all chipped in to get them a nice room and then the rest of us stayed in the 2bd suite. Neither of the rooms were ready, which was fine since we were all starving. Gave the desk my cell and headed out for food.

My dad and girlfriend both wanted to try Guy's Vegas kitchen and I like his show so we all walked over to the Quad (or Linq or whatever its going to be called). It was a 30 minute wait, no problem we say and everyone splits up. I promptly find a bar with video poker, put $20 in and get bourbon and gingerale. I play for a couple minutes and am joined by my gf and other friend. 20 minutes later table is ready and I've successfully had more to drink than I planned but cash out with $30, hooray. Stumble over to Guy's and order street tacos and lots of water. The food was very good and the patio seating was great for people watching and the misters kept it cool outside. Service was a little slow but overall everyone enjoyed their meal and would return.

At this point my phone rings and our room are ready so we walk back to the Aria and go to our rooms. The rooms were amazing, we were on the 27th and 49th floors, spacious rooms, great beds and nice bathrooms. After a quick unpack, I head down to the casino, I have $75 in freeplay and I want to attempt craps after reading the intro here on vmb.

Make my way to the casino and sit down at a quick hits machine (penny machine of course), and slowly play through my freeplay on max bet, nothing spectacular but I had fun and cashed out slightly ahead. Meet up with everyone else, realize we had all been gambling for hours and it was now 9:30PM!! Decide on Julian Serrano's for dinner. Amazing tapas, strong drinks and great deserts made for a nice winding down of the evening, or so I thought.

While walking back from lunch we stopped at Bellagio and I had stopped at a craps table, put $20 down (min was $10) and made a 10 bet on the pass line, hit a seven on the come out and won $10, well that was fun! So I press the bet, $10 on the pass, $10 behind and the point was a four, two rolls in I throw a 4 and win!! Now I am hooked, however bathroom break could not wait (thanks alcohol!) and I colored up and left, $20 became $70 so I was happy!

Hoping to continue this luck I find a table at the Aria after dinner and put $100 down and the dealer only gives me four $25 chips, uh oh I think, this table is more than I usually play ($25 a hand), but I decide to go for it. Well I crap out on the first roll, thinking its a sign of things to come, place another bet and pass the dice to the next guy hoping his luck was better. Well, it was, he rolled for 45 minutes hitting his point seven times! Thankfully I managed to nut up and press my bet ($75 a hand had me terrified lol), and increase the bet and walked away with a cool $2k after dealers tips!!! I'm a low roller so that experience for me was terrifying and exciting all at once. I damn near sprinted to the room to show everyone my riches, they were more excited than me it felt like. It was 2am at this point so I slept to fight another day.

Woke up around 10am, showered and had breakfast with the group at the Aria cafe (One of my favorite breakfast spots). Played some $1 VP afterwards for a tad and just walked around the strip for most of the day, still excited from last nights win. It rained briefly and then the sun came out and the weather was great! So I decided to go to the pool, gf decided it was a good idea too and went with me. We ended up spending the rest of the day at the pool, getting some tan on and drinking and relaxing before her and her friends went to Thunder from down under.

Gf left the pool a little before me to get ready for the show, I made my way up a little later and met them at Diablo's cantina for dinner, pretty good food, however I can find great Mexican food for a lot less back home. Girls left for the show, I hung out with my dad and Nine Fine Irishmen for a couple hours (great pub/bar by the way) and played some $5 craps at NYNY. Ended up losing my $100 on craps but had a blast playing and it lasted another 2 hours so I consider that a win! the girls found us at NYNY said the show was great but they were tired. Wandered back to the Aria, everyone but me went back up. I played some $1 VP for another couple hours and called it a night around 3am.

Last full day. Woke up at noon and the group decided they wanted to go to Bacchanal, so we marched on over to Caesars. No line thankfully and were seated right away. Great buffet, though they have scaled back a bit from when it first opened, but overall it was nice. I was now 3pm and we had dinner reservations at Japonais at 8 so we all walked over to the Palazzo to one of our favorite bars to drink and kill time. The bar we go to is next to the entrance to the Grand Lux in Palazzo and the bartender is super friendly and pours great drinks (which are comped as long as you are playing). I played video poker and ended up ahead $50 bucks after hitting some 3oaks and two full houses, but since it was only a quarter machine, it didn't net as much profit. Both my gf and dad each got a 4oak before we left for dinner.

Japonais was awesome as usual. I asked when they would become Morimoto's and the servers all said the date just kept being pushed back, so if you enjoy Japonais, it will be around for a while longer. After dinner, played some blackjack at the Mirage, lost some money and headed over to the Linq. Wandered around for awhile and headed back to the Aria around 1am and went to sleep.

Our flight wasn't until 8pm so I had requested late checkout so everyone could take their time, pack and relax. I headed down the pool to swim and have a couple drinks. After the pool I walked over to the Mlife desk and found out I hit Platinum, cool! Also, she told me to go see a host. So I walked over to the hosts office and sit down. the host tells me they appreciate my play and says he can comp one night for the 1bd penthouse and waived my resort fees! I about wet pants in excitement. I damn neat skip in excitement to the room, grab our stuff and head down to the bell desk. After storing the luggage I checkout and found out a neat tidibit which was:

As part of the Sky Suites you get a comp limo to and from the airport. Well, since we had booked a 2bd suite, each bedroom gets a comp roundtrip limo for the airport! this was great because one member of our group had an earlier flight so we were able to use the comp limo and didn't have to pay anything extra to have a limo take her to the airport! I thought that was neat and will hopefully be able ti utilize that again in the future.

So we checked out, grabbed some pizza at Five50(delicious as usual) and headed to the airport. Overall it was a great trip and I am now hooked on craps! I still have a lot to learn but the basics (thanks VMB!!!!) made for a whole lot of fun!. The Sky Suites were great, service was fantastic and I am looking forward to our next trip in November for SEMA! Thanks for reading, I hope everyone enjoys reading it!

That's some nice luck you had at the craps table at Aria. Congrats and glad that you enjoyed your trip and are now hooked on craps. Same thing happened to me (at least getting hooked).

It is the best and most fun game in the casino. Just don't think all sessions will always be that lucrative lol...when the dice get icy the bankroll can take a hit with a quickness

Yeah I didn't proofread haha, it was my girlfriend who mentioned it and my dad loves diners. drive ins and dives so they both said they'd like to go. My mom wanted to go to BLT Burger and she was overruled. Next trip report I'll proofread but I was tired of typing hahaha

Yeah I know haha, blackjack can be a cruel bitch too haha. Thats the most I've ever won (and bet) but the actual game itself was more fun than blackjack IMO.

For sure...I love playing blackjack too but the action of craps is second to none. Especially when you're on the fire bet and it is about to hit, or the All Tall/Small feature bets and they hit.

When the dice get cold and I have lost money I usually go sit down at blackjack to replenish my bankroll.
