Just recently have started to play Ultimate X. I love it. The multipliers can come a lot faster than Super times pay. After Ultimate X I went to STP and it took forever to get just one chance with a multiplier as opposed to a multiplier on practicaly every basic deal in Ultimate X.

    Which do you prefer?

I prefer Ultimate X for the reasons you stated, but when you hit a cold streak the money goes in a HURRY. I find you get more play time-wise with STP.

Ultimate X. It can be a nasty one though. I was staying at NY NY last November, quickly got bored with the slots in their casino so tried Ultimate X. Two hand pays later I was hooked (was playing 3 hand quarters). It killed me on my June trip this year at MGM Grand though. Still love it though!

I tend to play a "happy medium" for me. Double STP. I'm not a fan of Ultimate X's 3 line minimum either. STP and Double STP you can adjust the lines and still bet 6 (or 7) per line.

Also keep in mind that Ultimate X strategies change a bit from standard video poker thanks to the future multipliers. Like 3 to a flush is better than nothing for example.

    I love STP.

I enjoy Ultimate X. But I’m too lazy to learn all of the strategy changes so I keep my sessions short and at low denominations.

Speaking of Double STP, I love that game as well, but I've never seen if for more than 3 lines at the dollar level. Does it exist? 5-line $1 double STP would be awesome.

Ultimate X is great for a hit and run (just play off remaining multipliers by betting 5, not 10, per line). I can't stay at Ultimate X for any length of time. STP can be fun, but I've seen some long streaks without multipliers which makes that game frustrating.

One game I found particularly amusing this trip was STP Spin Poker. Had never seen that before.

Yeah, it does exist in some places, but you're right it's not super common. Flamingo and Harrah's offers 3/5/10 Play Double STP in Vegas at the dollar level I think in their high limit rooms. I saw this past weekend that Horseshoe Hammond in Indiana offers 3/5/10 Play dollars at "full pay" for 8/5 Bonus (99.67%) and 9/6 DDB (99.48%) in the high limit room. Of course that unit wants $50 for a Tier Credit though instead of $10, blah.

I prefer STP since it's the same strategy as normal VP. ULTIMATE X requires a modified strategy that I haven't bothered to learn. Nickel STP at Cosmo is my vice.

I love Double STP. Ultimate X sucks the money way too fast and requires a modified strategy as mentioned. I also like on STP and Double STP that you can set the amount of hands, say 1 or 2, but still play max coins on those hands.

I played 5 cent STP and ultimate X on my most recent trip to Tahoe. First time I played either one. Since STP gave me a royal flush I have to say I like that one the best. I never seemed to get a good hand on Ultimate X when a multiplier came up.

Hits like that are why people play the game. Nice one!

Do you play all 100 lines?? What's the minimum denomination on that machine? Hope you can get a dealt quad or better next time! I can't recall the last time I got one of those in a multi-line game...:grrr:

I got dealt quad 5's playing 3 hand Super Times Pay BP in Shreveport a few months back. No multiplier but it felt good.

I love ultimate X I like the fact that you get multipliers almost every hand and I seem to get many more big pays on it. I rarely play STP anymore, and I agree with GChrome as I love 100 play, I have been dealt two royals playing it but it can eat you up fast
