About a dozen years ago, I was playing "let it ride" at a small casino that only housed about 30 tables in Richmond BC.

There was an older disabled gentleman playing who I had recognized from playing several times before. During the play, another man walked up behind him and started talking quietly behind him. The dealer kept dealing, and as I was playing, I started to make out part of what he was saying to him-

"Ya think I don't see you in here gambling placing bets, you think you can keep playing before you give my money back? My people telling me your in here all the time, but I don't get my money? Ya know what happens to people who don't pay me back?"

Holy crap! I was sitting at a table with loansharking/gang @!&$ about to go down! The dealer kept dealing and inside I'm starting to freak out! Why isn't the dealer calling security? Is he going to pull a gun? Knife? Out in the parking lot? Do I get away from the table? Holy crap! I decided it was a good time to use the facilities!

When I returned, the pit boss was talking and smiling with the gang guy really nicely, and another guy came to the disabled guy and said they had a drive home for him arranged and were escorting him out with security. The dealer kept dealing. I coloured up and went home, never to return. Now I see our local has lots of problems with investigations into money laundering from the gangs. Yikes!

    I only play slots now,lol!

About 7 years later I went to pick my child up from her pre-school and in walked the disabled guy from that night picking up his granddaughter as it turned out. As he walked past me I saw a flicker of recognition on his face, like he was trying to place me from somewhere.......I didn't bring it up!

Anyone ever see anything strange (good or bad) going down in a casino??

I seen two Asian women getting into it at the Rio buffet once. I believe they were screaming Mandarin, up in each others faces like a pro baseball teams manager and an umpire. Someone from the Rio stepped between them and told one to leave. I thought fists were about to fly.

Oooh this could be a good thread...off the top of my head here's what I recall (all of these are in Vegas)

Lady slapping the shit out of her boyfriend/husband by that juice shop by the elevators at Palazzo in February. She open handed him and it was loud!

One dude was playing a bank of slot machines at Harrah's and he was the only one sitting there. It was a bank of six machines (three on each side) and he was playing an end one. He'd press the button to spin and then jog/speed walk around the bank while the machine was spinning. Then he'd stop...look at his result...and hit spin and jog/speed walk again. If he had a good win then he'd pump his fists a bit and keep going. I don't think I can properly describe the look on my face or my thoughts. I literally froze while I was walking and stood there watching him until I finished my beer. WTF!

Guy getting a handy from a ladyfriend in MGM's sportsbook.

A midgit at the old western downtown, who hit a number($35 payout) on roulette table and is sprinting in circles around the pit yelling "I'm rich" at the top of his lungs!

I was at a blackjack table when a lady pulled a dildo out of her purse started waving it around and using it to do the hit motion on for her cards. Fricken hilarious. It's name was Jack by the way. :faint:

I was shooting craps in puerto rico when a disabled guy came in. he was a little person and in a wheelchair.

They had a high chair type thing just for the guy connected to the rail of the craps table for him to sit in a play craps.

pretty cool thing. never seen one of those in vegas.

This was at Bellagio a year or two ago...people at one of the BJ tables in an adjacent pit were complaining of a smell. No one could place the exact location of the smell. Finally, it was pinpointed to that particular table. Apparently, someone had taken a piss under the table. Within 5 minutes, they had the table shut down, chairs removed, and started steam cleaning the carpet and disenfecting the table. They taped off a section of the pit, like it was a crime scene.

'bout 3-4 yrs ago I'm at MB and go to shoot dice and a guy barely taller than Mini-Me from Austin Powers,
is in a wheelchair at the craps table, except it had a 3' boost to let him roll almost from a supine position, craziest thing you ever saw
I just drank my beer and stared slack-jawed....only in vegas...

Similar to the first post, I was at The Orleans Sports Book, dreaming up an exotic baseball parley, when I suddenly hear, "No effing way do I give you more money until you pay back what you owe", in a loud, very agitated voice. I turned around and he was a guy, not tall, but solid as a rock. The guy talking to him was a skinny, plain looking guy.

They start arguing very loudly and Shorty punches Skinny right square in the nose. Shorty yells at him "I hate effing welshers"! Someone yells that Skinny has a knife, although I didn't see it. Security arrives and pounces on both of them and holds them down. LVPD rolls up not a minute later and takes the two outside.

After about a minute or two, the crowd settles down and after 5 minutes, it's as if nothing had ever happened.

On the other extreme, some of the basketball players come out to Vegas during the summer development leagues supported by the NBA, and I saw the tallest human being I have ever seen at a craps table. He must have been close to 8 feet! The dice looked tiny in his giant hands. I never did look up who he was.

Odd things go in in/near MGM Sportsbook. On my very first trip to Viva (1997), My sister and I waited for my binlaw to place his bets and past us walks a lady. A tall, lanky, weird-walking lady. The lady turned her head slightly and it is a man dressed in drag, with the worst makeup job ever. The wig was blond and askew. The lady placed her bets and walked back past us. We really stared at her and she caught our eye and walked a bit faster, all the while, readjusting her "junk" and smelling her hand.
