I ate at Benny's a couple nights ago and posted about it in my TR, thought I should post here about it. First off, there isn't much on the menu. I hope they eventually expand it but for now it's ribs, chicken or chicken and ribs. I mentioned in my TR that the sauce was spicy hot forgetting who I was telling this too. A better description would be that it has a bite to it (at least what I received did). I'm so conditioned to warning my wife about anything more "spicy" than ketchup, that I made the mistake of calling it hot. After "Blonde4ever" responded that she was disappointed to hear this, spicy hot wasn't what she was looking for, I thought I should revise my comments and do some research.

    that's it, thats the menu

Next my "undercover" work took me to inside the cafe, where the food is prepared. It looked like there is only one option on the sauce. The meat is smoked earlier and then kept warm in a warming unit. Order comes into the kitchen via the little printer, cook grabs baby backs from the top unit, chicken from the bottom unit.

far right is the warming unit

The cook then applies BBQ while warming on the grill for maybe a minute on each side. Chicken goes on the left side grill, ribs on the right side, sauce straddles in the middle.

The waiter helps to assemble the order and then carries through the casino to the back where the restaurant is.

I ate everything except the cole slaw (only because I don't care for it), left nothing except for bones on the plate, so I wasn't that disappointed. I think I just went in with too high of expectations. I think it's priced right, absolutely no wait (you seat yourself), just a limited menu and only one choice of sauce. I thought the beans and corn were very good, the corn bread was a little dry. Would I go back? Maybe, would probably prefer to try Ellis Island since I've never tried it

Forgot to mention one of my biggest complaints, no wet naps offered. I don't eat my ribs with a knife and fork, I eat them with my hands. The have rolls of paper towels at the table, but that doesn't "clean" your hands. After paying my bill it was straight to the restroom to wash my hands.

I went to the casino website hoping to pass on my suggestions for wet naps, multiple sauce choices and toothpicks. I'm not confident it will read. Their was a guest survey that I tried first, but seems it was meant for the four queens. It asked about bellman, housekeeping, as well as the casino, but under dining it had two choices, Hugo's Cellar and Magnolia's. I sent an email to [email protected] Again, since the hotel doesn't exist, probably not going to read.

Thanks for the review. I know what you mean about warning someone about anything spicier than Ketchup...my hubby is the same...LOL. Hoping to try them on our next trip and will compare to Ellis Island..where we love the BBQ. Not having a car makes it more awkward to get to though.

I tried the chicken and ribs last week, it was good. Could have eaten the ribs twice.
It was twice as nice as I paid for it with my comps off my Binnions card. Free food always tastes better :evillaugh

Ok, just returned from a week-long trip in which we ate at both Binion's and Ellis Island. Ellis Island ribs wins hands town. No contest. Bi ion's ribs weren't bad, but the meat was much tougher. EI ribs were very tender and more flavorful. EI gives you two corn on the cobs. Binion's one. Both slaws were good, and the beans were evenly good. Ribs face-off over fir me :)
