On my upcoming trip I'm determined to finally step foot in Main Street Station and check the place out. My wife and I are going to take our daughter to the Discovery Children's Museum, so we'll probably head over to MSS afterward. I'm thinking of eating at Triple 7 for dinner that night, too. I've read so many positive comments about the restaurant, but the diverse menu makes me wonder what are the "go-to" choices. Is the sushi good? The oysters? The "pub"-type fare? Everything? Let me hear what you like!

    Thanks in advance.

Easier for me to answer in the opposite. I don't like sushi. I'm a carnivore and I have had almost everything (meat) on the menu several times over and enjoy everything.
I guess my favs, in no particular order would be burgers, pizza, ribs and the NY Strip. One more thing we both enjoy is the baked Italian, except we order it cold.

Make sure to check out the happy hour items M-F 3PM-6PM. Good deals on house wine and the house brews, plus appetizers.

Fish and chips and their garlic fries are pretty good. Don't forget about their micros, cheap and good.

Thanks guys. Just to clarify, I guess the reason I asked like that is because you sort of expect the burgers, pizza, ribs, etc. to be good in a microbrewery. The sushi and oysters seem a little out of place on this menu. We probably won't be having a sushi meal on this trip, so I wouldn't be surprised if my wife opted for sushi here. But keep all the suggestions coming! Thanks!

We love the garlic fries. Enjoyed the wings. Had a $15 steak neither of us cared for.

    My favorite ( served after 4 p.m. ) :

Meatloaf with mushroom gravy plus baked potato & green beans.

    $9.95 if I remember correctly.

Dare you to eat it all! :peace:

I've been enjoying the 777 for many years and have never had a bad experience! If solo, I sit at the bar – otherwise a table. I like the wings there so much I won't even order them anywhere else. Everything's good!

Sushi is so-so. Sushimi is much better. Love the shrimp cocktail and beer battered shrimp. Chili is excellent as is Fillet sandwich.

It's just really good bar food, loud TV's and good brews.

I am always comped so the above doesn't take into account value.

I've enjoyed everything I've tried there, including:

-- Sushi (Cali and Spicy Tuna rolls) - not "OMFG" good, but tasty. My buddy had a Dragon roll - he liked that too.
    -- Fried Calamari (huge basket)
    -- Wings
    -- Ribs
    -- Peel & eat shrimp
    -- Burger

Never had a single complaint. Food, service, and of course micro-brews all very good. IMO, you can't go wrong there, and everyone in the family will find something they like.

I have tried to finish these on a few occasions and always fail. There are so many! Yummy indeed.

Always enjoy the calamari, Korean ribs very tasty. They seem to be very helpful and flexible. I had a friend that liked the little garnish/salad that goes with the ribs and asked for a bowl. We got it! Only$1

Oysters were fine, they were maybe $1 during happy hour. I didn't think much of the wings. I did like the IPA, which was so expensive (something like $4) that the waitress thought she should inform me before ordering. Nice place, too bad all the award banners were from 10+ years ago.

There is a story to the lack of recent awards. There is an entrance fee to these contests and in management's infinite wisdom, they decided to stop entering them. Can't win if you don't play!

Usually hit up 777 during happy hour. Love the Korean short ribs and the other basic pub-fare food is good. Their burgers are excellent. Excellent beer selection. The restaurant is huge with lots of seating at the bar and tables. No gaming (or smoking) inside but plenty of TVs so it's a great break from gambling all day. MK

MSS is our hotel of choice, and the Triple 7 is one of the very few places we try more than once on each trip. We like the garlic fries, but beware, they aren't for wimps and if one of you eats them, you had all better have some. The garlic stays with you for a looooong time! I don't think their sushi is quite as good as lots of other places, but their steaks, and ribs, and misc. other items make up for it. The beer selection is great - I used to always get the black chip porter, but in the last few years have switched to the Marker Pale Ale. All their regular brews (not the beer of the month) are available at the main bar and on the casino floor. What could be better than playing some full pay VP and having a great microbrew and a pretty great restaurant available only steps away?

Actually only the Black Chip, Pale Ale and High Roller are available at the main bar. There is a 4th available, but I'm having a brain fart right now and can't think of it.

You're probably missing the Royal Red Lager. And the Main Bar now has the VIPA available, but the VIPA costs a bit more than the $1.75 price for the other four (I think it's like $3.50/pint).

Really, they physically added a fifth tapper? They only had four handles in June.

Our trips are 6 1/2 days, and we usually eat at 777 three times. We each like to order an item and then share. We have never ordered something and not liked it. Some of our favorites: wings, garlic cheesy bread (more like a pizza), fish and chips, loaded potato chips, pizza, hamburgers, hot artichoke dip, any of the desserts, etc. I don't think you will be disappointed.
