    My Trip Report

was just reading thru the posts here and was reminiscing a little bit about the trip I took to Reno/Tahoe this spring. Was in the Montbleau casino in Lake Tahoe and saw a sign for the Sigma Derby while I was playing craps. I told the dealer I was surprised they had the game because most people think the MGM and the D in vegas are the only places left that have it, and he said well we have 2! They did, next to each other in their own room. Was very surprised.

I saw this machine at MGM last week, it looked intriguing and everyone around it looked like they were having fun. I'm going to have to give it a go next time.

Photo below from the final night at the old Frontier.

Does anyone have any strategy for this? I've found that if I play one of the longer shots (but not the longest long-shot) and one of the easier ones (sometimes the favorite, sometimes not) I can usually play quite a while on just purse change.

I've found that this is the BEST game if you want to get free drinks. Drink service at the D is quite frequent.

I always play the long long shot because who wants to be the guy not on it when it hits?

I will also play the top two favorites and some mid-range underdogs. I can usually play for an hour on a roll of quarters doing that.
