Matchplay coupon policy?

I've seen numerous people on here wanting to trade for match play coupons from the ACG. And they are asking for multiples of the same coupon. What is policy the casinos have for matchplay? Can one person use the same coupon more than once? I figure it must be limited somehow. Is it once per day? Some coupons have fields that appear to be where you or the casino would right in your Players Club number.

 

It will depend on the coupon, they should have the terms and conditions written on them.

But yes, they should have some kind of limit to their use written on the coupon. Some will be as vague as "Limit one coupon per guest" while another might say "Limit one coupon per person per account" where with the former that might be a question about when am I considered a guest? and the latter sounding like it is a limit of one time use only, ever.

But for some depending if there is little to no limitation they might not be that hard to use multiple coupons. IE: a coupon might say "limit one per guest" but if you go up to Bob to blackjack dealer and use a coupon there and then go over to Charlie the craps dealer and use a coupon there and then to Rob the roulette dealer and use a coupon there if there isn't any tracking of player card number on the coupon then you should be able to do that and then if they have a few different blackjack/craps/roulette tables open you can try to hit them all or even just come back later when either the dealer you used the coupon with is on break or after their shift is over.

 

I really don't think it's a good idea to try to use a MP coupon 2 or 3 times, in a brief period, on the same visit to a casino. Even if you are going from table to table to table, you must be aware of the pit boss watching you, and don't forget the "eye in the sky". That's a good way to get the ole "86" out the door.

If I'm going to do multiples of the same coupon, I'll do one in the morning, and then another one at night.

 

Don't some casinos require that you tear the coupons out in front of their eyes? I heard such things from LVC and Plaza.

 

As one of those people looking for multiple matchplay coupons, I thought I'd better respond to this.

There are normally 4 to 6 in our group, so we usually buy one of each book per couple and trade for the coupons that we would like to have more of. And this year, we are going on 2 trips, so more coupons required for maximum EV.

For any coupon that has a limit of one per year and has to be turned in to the slot club, we try to get one per person. For those coupons that you turn in at the tables (most matchplays) that aren't tracked, we try to get more of those as well.

For instance, the ACG Orleans matchplay coupons are turned in at the tables. We often stay there, so end up using several coupons per day - as Buddha says - one in the morning, one in the evening - different shifts, different personnel. We do not try to play more than one coupon per session by moving to a different table or a different pit. We realize these coupons are a precious advantage over the casinos and don't want them to discontinue them!

As far as removing the coupons from the book (in the case of the MRB coupons) in front of a casino employee - this is easily accomplished by inserting the loose coupon into a book in the proper place and then taking the coupon out at the table/slot club/cashier, wherever. Most are not paying enough attention to what you are doing to see that it was loose to begin with. This is commonly known as the "fake tear" method.

It's up to the individual to decide if this is the right thing for them or not.

Trading coupons is just another way to maximize the value of the coupon books. There are many coupons in the book we will never use (Strip properties for sure!) and I hate to see a good coupon go to waste. If someone else feels the same way about the coupons they won't use (like for off strip places), then it's a win/win for everyone.

Coupons in general, and trading coupons is not for everyone, but it certainly has worked out well for us over the years. We've found places we like that we probably wouldn't have gone into were it not for an initial coupon offer. The Silver Nugget in North Las Vegas comes to mind. It's really nothing special, but they had a great coupon deal several years ago and we had so much fun there that we returned many times after that initial experience. It's not for everyone, but it's fun for us. Gets us out and about and moving rather than sitting in front of one machine or at one table for hours on end.

That would be ridiculous. I'm not walking around Vegas carrying a fat book in my hand.

 

The ACG coupons can be cut out in advance, you just need to have an ACG card (although we are almost never asked for that).

The MRB is a small booklet and easily fits in a pocket or purse. That's the one that you are supposed to have the book and take the coupon out of the book in front of the employee.
