I have never gambled at the level I did last trip, and I am not sure in reality I did enough to warrant anything for rooms on the next trip (as that was not the ultimate goal)

I looked at my win/loss on Mlife, and they have me down as a $675 slot loss (aria) and at $100 table loss (aria) and $1200 table win (Monte Carlo); as per my TR I made pearl in just 3 days from "0", and was averaging 4 hours a day for BJ....and I got $120 in F and B on the way out the door....

I am heading back in October, and right now Mlife site has nothing good form me for those dates...when should I call? Should I realisticlly not have my hopes up? Is there a way to "handle it" best when I call? I always seem to get the cold shoulder...but then again I was a much more small time player prior to this trip.

    thoughts?

As far as comps go it will depend on how much did you bet, for how long and which game. Actual loss doesn't usually come into play unless it's a very high loss. And for slots it's all about coin-in, not loss. Losing $500 in 5 spins at $100 a spin (totally possible) is different than $1 spins for many hours as you'd be coining in about $500 an hour.

    What is the question?

    When should you call?

Call who? about what? a host?

    Did you pay for anything?

    "made pearl"...barely? easily? 25k TCs? 74k TCs?

    We need more information...

As for the thread title...Win/Loss is just for information...you cant use it for tax purposes, comps, or anything... pretty much just to make you feel like shit when you see how much you actually lost...or if you win you wonder where that money is now.

    I wasnt clear, was i?

Call to book my room for October...should I wait for "fall" offers, or will my "play" be noticed now (if at all)

I made pearl, "just over?? 34k

did I pay for anything? no, Dad put the room on his credit card...like I said the gave me $120 f/b credit applied to our room tho....

My coin in...not sure how to quantify, but I played on the same $100 on a quarter VP machine (base spin was 5 credits, but sometimes played the STP and three lines-still my average was not much more than $1.25/spin) for about 4 straight hours...then dropped another couple the next day over the same time frame, and the same the following day...

    ain't that the truth!!

Honestly I am expecting you all to tell me to expect nothing,
I would guess I will get my 20% off offers just like I had before...no big deal, just wanted to be sure I get the best rate for my trip in October...

^^ I think you should wait for fall offers

34k TCs in 3 days is decent play that will definitely warrant atleast 3 comped nights, plus some FP.

Was your Mlife account on the reservation that your dad payed for? the reason I ask is you get 25 TCs for each dollar spent...so if the amount your dad payed was credited toward your account we would need to subract those TCs from the 34k to assess how many were from actual gambling

it doesn't hurt to call. if you are okay with low/mid tier properties, cold call the hosts office, have them review play. If you want to try a nicer property Id wait till fall offers.

if you are sure all 34k points were from gambling then you have a good chance to get some free rooms at a mid tier place. I doubt Aria would give much at that level.

Dad's card was tagged to the room and got all the credit for the room charges, I gave them my card number at check in, and the Mlife desk had to call the marketing office to see if they could put the F and B credit on his room...and since they did see that I was in the room, they did it, it took me being firm, but got it done

so bottom, line, yes all the TC's were from gambling

but, given how I have read how mlife works, don' they go prop to prop, unlike CET who looks at play across props? since my play was mixed, do I still have a chance of getting offers at one? (even mid tier?--i'd be ok with MC again...)

correct, each hotel is different and not linked together.
if you played hours at either place MC or Aria, id expect to get offers, but how good they are is up to how much and how long you played for. For Mlife, you will have to concentrate your play at 1 property to maximize the offers

    1. if you do the host way and get something, you will need to play off your free room before room charges will be taken off. this is good to build a relationship if you always go back to the same place and can consistently play at the levels they expect.

    2. if you do the marketing or mlife website, just go where you think the lucky casino is, or where you enjoy playing and just let the offers be up to chance.

the room and food is cheap compared to the gambling losses that can occur.

    1. play your level and Excalibur and probably get free rooms with food credit. do you really want to stay/play there?
    2. play your level at Aria, expect to pay a discounted room rate and maybe get some FB taken away with express comps at the end. enjoying the luxury over Excalibur
    3. in the middle its hard to tell.

    all I can tell is

how badly they track my actual losses.

they're numbers are way lower than actual.

The way your place in the pecking order shows up is pretty similar between MGM and CET. The difference is that with MGM, concentrating your play in one casino seems to have slightly more effect (for good or worse) on getting persistent offers from that casino.

Let's say you go stay at Monte Carlo on a trip and play only there, and enough to either cover an upfront offer easily, or have everything taken off back-end. The result will probably be:
    • You will get offer(s) directly from Monte Carlo
    • You may get offers directly from MGM properties that are considered the same level or lower than Monte Carlo
    • You probably won't get direct offers from MGM properties considered higher up the food chain than Monte Carlo, unless your play was at easily at their level.

Now you go stay at say Bally's or PH, but regardless of whether you play only at that hotel, or all over at different CET properties, your overall play determines what you see in the availability calendar, and in offers. If your play was at Bally's/PH levels, you will see wide comp availability at those properties (and below) in the calendars, and your offers will be for things like 5 nights free at those properties or 3 nights at Caesars. If your play was high enough for Caesars, then you'll see wider comp availability for Caesars, and even if your offers for Caesars still only mention 3 free nights, you'll find that you can get an additional 2 comped.

So when I read all that, lol, I guess the difference I see is that with MGM, you either get direct offers from a property or you don't; whereas with CET, the offers you get are for all the properties and the way they differ is on the length of stay. I don;t think I've ever see a CET offer that said you have to stay at a specific hotel, even if the offer is for something like a slot tourney or show tix.

But I never get Corporate offers from MGM anymore, so I can't compare them, and CET, it may be different if you're a higher level player than I am.

Tell me about it! Seeing my win/loss statement for table games makes me wonder if the pit boss is paying any attention at all. Given my low-roller level, they're probably not. :p
