Can we take food in our check-in luggage? (SWA) I have some homemade meals I'd like to bring. Do you think it will be an issue?

It would only be a problem if you were crossing a border.

I could only find one reference to food on their website @ https://www.southwest.com/html/customer-service/baggage/special-luggage-pol.html#baggage_special_luggage_pol_tab_list_tab_11

I have never taken food to Vegas, but most trips we bring back leftovers in our checked luggage on SWA. We just bring a couple of those collapsible coolers. In summer we throw some ice in a ziplock, in winter, we don't even bother with the ice. 35,000 ft, the food stays very cold.

What kind of food? I used to bring bagel sandwiches in my carry-on bags for early morning flights. Nothing better than a taylor ham, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel ;)

It shouldn't be an issue unless your baked goods have some form of liquid.

    Check-in luggage?
If you mean "checked bags", then it should be no problem.
Now if it's carry on, then probably not! The TSA has a list of carry on food items that are not allowed or may be inspected.

I've never had a problem bringing food back in checked luggage, including cheeses, fruits, vegs.
