I received a Plaza mailer today good for 4 free nights Sun-Thur. A little late on the mailing since the offer started April 1st, but it does run through Sept.

Just received a repeat of last month's offer I got from the Plaza - three free nights, one of which can be a Friday or Saturday, can be used multiple times through September. Odd, since I haven't given them much play. Probably will this trip since they've put in some better VP. We're taking advantage of it for our upcoming trip Tues May 27th - Saturday the 31st, using free Downtown Grand offers for Tuesday - Thursday and the Plaza offer for Friday. DTG wants $129 (plus resort fee) for that Friday.

Got mine too. Booked 3 nights for my September "business" trip. The last time I was at the Plaza I got a 1 bedroom suite with the "twenty dolla halla" at check-in.

Will double book at MSS as usual. Or I might spend some of my hard earned money and actually pay for a room at Golden Nugget like the rich Canadians do?

Naaaa... that's not going to happen! :nono:

I got that offer also with the $5 FP. I haven't stepped foot in the Plaza for several years, so I assume I received it because I played at Las Vegas Club in April.

We stayed at the Plaza as part of our honeymoon in Vegas back in 2010 before the remodeling - We will be back in August for our anniversary but haven't received any mailings from Plaza in quite awhile, We must have been removed from the mailing list :(

I assume I got it because I took in my Emerald Card from Boyd and they issued me an Aces card at Plaza.

I didn't. I'm sorry to the useful posts the casino host posts here, but their paytables suck on VP and the casino is always DEAD. There is no vibe.

Now they have improved some of the paytables according to him, but you get no points for playing those machines. "come see a host" for a comp.

I want them to succeed, but I can play 9/6 JOB at MSS and get 1 point for every $1 in. I can go to Cal or Four Queens and play 9/6 DDB and get the same dollar/point in credits. Why play at Plaza and have to go beg to a host for a comp if I search out a decent paytable on VP?

I thank the host for posting on this board and I realize these are not decisions he can make on his own, but realistically, why would I play there under the current gaming conditions?

I believe you are misunderstanding. The points earned are used for cash back and tier purposes and not to determine what complimentaries you will be offered. You do not have to "beg" any host for the comps you earn. Based on any slot or VP you will earn comps and casino offers. I believe it is unfair to say that you earn nothing while playing various machines at the Plaza and Las Vegas club. We may not have the same machines, offers, or dynamic as other casinos, however, our guests are pleased with our variety of complimentaries and offers.

How are the craps conditions at the Plaza? I haven't been there in a while, but I believe last time I was there the odds were 3x,4x,5x. I can get that on the strip. Does the Plaza rate free-odds bets? No reason to play there when I can go next door to MSS and enjoy 20x or walk down the street and find 10x at the D (the go-go dancers at the D outweigh the excessive volume of their music, at least for a little while)!

Well what about the signs you have posted on the better paytable VP machines?
"The have stickers on them saying "0 points" and "excluded from Royal Rewards promotion".

The decision to exclude these machines from point accrual just looks low budget. With the Plaza freeplay (cash back), even the best game still has a house edge if points were allowed. The royal bonus is irrelevant to me. If you want to exclude your better games, that makes sense. For me, the initial visit is when the points are crucial. I'm playing on that visit to generate future offers and expect nothing at the moment.

Most of us who play a significant amount are used to upfront comps. Asking a host to comp something after the fact has always been more difficult. I understand the difficulty as it is a hard comp vs. marketing dollars. The Four Queens will sometimes comp Hugo's and sometimes not but I will not go to Hugo's and ask to have the charge comped after the meal. It's a matter of certainty.
