Is there a list of Casinos on/around or a Taxi ride from the Strip?

Hello!

I'm new here, am from the UK, but been to Vegas 4/5 times, I love it there. I'm going back this June, and staying in Luxor.

Is there a list of Casinos that are around the Strip in walking distance or a taxi ride away. I want to check out some ones I've missed. I've found the old Hilton Casino the LVH by watching a TV program lol

You are within walking distance of every strip casino, depending on what you consider a long walk. I have done Mandalay Bay (next door) to Wynn It's a walk and a half to say the least. But nothing challenging for the healthy under 50 set.

 

Well you can take a cab anywhere! seriously though...you could take the tram from the Luxor to Excalibur, walk to the MGM and catch the monorail there all the way up the strip to anywhere you want to go. I would suggest pulling a map up of the Strip and it will show you where everything is at, or search for Vegas monorail map and that will show you the stops. Full Day tickets for the monorail start at $12 for 1 day, and go up to $56 for 7 days. Or you can cab it to mid strip and walk to several properties from there. Walking from the MGM to mid strip takes about 20 to 25 mins.

 

Do you mean offstrip casinos nearby? To the west, you have Orleans on Tropicana. There are also Palms, Gold Coast and Rio on Flamingo in a cluster and in walking distance from each other. You can catch a free shuttle to Rio or Orleans/Gold Coast from Bally's. To the east, there are casinos like Hard Rock, Silver Sevens, Ellis Island and a few others. Ellis Island is walkable from center strip but very small. The others may require a cab. I am not as familiar with the east casinos so I don't know which are worth the effort.

You can take the FREE tram from Excalibur, Luxor, Mandalay.

You can take a FREE tram from Monte Carlo/Aria/Bellagio.

You can catch FREE shuttles to Rio from Harrahs/Ballys.

You can catch FREE shuttles to Gold Coast/Orleans from Ballys.

You can catch FREE shuttles to Palms from Caesars.

The other side of the road you can take the monorail but it is 10 bucks per day(or it used to be, I have NEVER ridden it), and a LONG walk to it. By the time you get to the monorail you could have walked to your destination almost.

Look up posts by Dewey089 there is bus service on the strip and you can buy all day passes.

I think Mandalay Bay to Wynn/Encore is around six miles, or so it seems.

Luxor to the Las Vegas Hotel(no longer a Hilton brand) is probably seven miles. You can take the bus or the monorail.


What other casinos do you want to know about?


Southpoint is another ten miles or so south, Green Valley Ranch is out in Henderson. Downtown(take the express bus from Luxor)

 

Ellis Island, Tuscany, Silver Sevens

Going east on Flamingo from The Bellagio, you have Ellis Island (Flamingo and Koval, just south of the gas station), Tuscany, and Silver Sevens all within a mile. Walkable if you are in decent shape and the weather is OK. Cab it to Silver Sevens, then walk back.

Rio/Gold Coast/Palms are all on the same corner and a super-quick cab ride from The Strip.

Orleans is a big locals casino just two miles east of The Strip on Trop.

Unless you are a big drinker (and thus don't want to drive), rent a car for the day and hit as many local's places as possible. M and Green Valley Rance are only a few minute from each other and M is only 10 minutes down the freeway from The Strip.

The four major casinos on Boulder Highway are all within a few minutes of each other. If you really want to see "old Vegas", check out the 3 casinos in downtown Henderson!

Take a bus or a cab to downtown & Fremont street. 11 casinos all within a couple of blocks and not a block like on the Strip. Just a normal city block.

El Cortez
Fremont

Easy walk between all on them.
