Anybody have a review of the Mirage buffet? We're going to visit the Secret Garden on our trip and we're considering using a MyVegas reward to get buffet passes at the Mirage for lunch while we are there.

I know that this is not much help but my wife and I have had their breakfast and dinner buffet several times and have never been disappointed.

Guys I do want to add this however, my in-laws were at the Mirage last week for five days and had the breakfast buffet. The one thing they mention was that they did have to get up and get their own drinks and refill. This is one think that has change since my wife and I were their in January.

We ate there Sun March 30, arrived at 5:30 no line just went right in, perfect timing because by 6 there was a long line...
The food was about average, for a buffet, IMHO their prime rib was very good, med.rare perfect for me and if you want it more done, like my wife, ask and they will put it on the grill for you. The shrimp was quite good, nice size, but the snow crab was small and just so so. noticed their pizza station was not getting much traffic, pizza looked old and not very appetizing, the cook manning that station offered to make me a custom pizza, and it was delicious exceptional service there. All the staff including our waiter was very good. And oh yes if you like beer& wine, drink to your hearts content because it is now included with the buffet:beer: and you don't have to wait for your waiter to bring it, you pick it up yourself at the bar station at the back.
Didn't leave much room for desert, only managed to sample their gelato bar,
    very good:thumbsup:
Overall we had a very nice and pleasant dining experience.

    Brunch

Has anyone used the MyVegas breakfast or lunch buffet for the weekend brunch? I purchased the two-fer and was hoping to use it on a Saturday. Thanks.

Update: Received response from Mirage facebook page.

Another + for their buffet. It's not terribly fancy like Wynn or Bachannal but DW and I go their every trip even if we are not staying @ Mirage. We really enjoy it.

My group of 6 ate there for dinner last summer and we were really disappointed. Salt was pronounced in everything there, and quite frankly, while all 6 of us thought the same thing, for 4 of them, this was high-standard fare, not something they would usually pay for. And, they hated it.

So did I, and I've been to several buffets in LV.

The desserts were good, but the main courses, not so much.

I know our experience goes against the grain, just don't take it with a grain of....salt. Know what I mean?

Had Sunday brunch last summer and will mirror the positive comments about service. Champaign was average but free flowing and they gave to-go cups to all four of us as we left to take some out. The Asian soup station was very good and while limited to a few offerings the Sushi was pretty good. Is it a top-tier buffet? No. However, I think it is one of the better MyVegas plays.

We have eaten there 3 times this year and will do so again on our next trip in July..consistently good buffet options - IMHO in the top 5 - with Wynn and Bellagio at the top of my list (haven't tried Bachannal yet)..
For wine or beer which is now included in the price - you do need to go to the bar on the back wall to get it - the servers do not bring that to the table; but they do bring all other non alcoholic drinks to your table including refills. On weekends, mimosas are included and the servers do bring those to your table.
Some servers are more efficient and attentive than others but usually service is prompt in our experience.
Prime rib and freshly sliced ham are very good - DH likes the shrimp. Veggies are on the bland side but the individually tossed salads are fresh and good quality. The Custom omelettes/egg station is very good - but for toast you have to order it at the salad station where they have all the breads. Soups are pretty good too.
    Save room for dessert!!:licklips:
interested in seeing your review afterwards..

When I ate there in March I had some broccolini with red peppers that was very flavorful and surprisingly spicy. Maybe give that a try next time. I think it was in the "Italian" section.

We had breakfast at Cravings this morning. The servers no longer bring non-alcoholic drinks, it's all self service. Beer and wine are served at the bar at the back, but they didn't have any Bud as they were out of it and only had cheap and nasty stuff.

Had lunch buffet there back in April and it was quite good for a buffet. I like the cheese and meat section by the salads. The Asian soups were good, food just ok. Shrimp and crab were fine. Italian food ok. BBQ, to me, is never good at any buffet for some reason. Pizza was ok. Prime Rib was very good. Overall not the best, not the worst. Water and soda refills come to the table but beer and wine is self serve.

Question for luci5 or someone who has eaten there in May - are the servers there now just to clear the tables?

Since non-alcoholic beverages are now self serve, are things like hot tea and milk and cranberry juice available or just soft drinks?? I'd hate to miss out on my pot of tea!!! DH always ordered club soda -guess we'll find out next month when we go...

We only saw one server in the whole of the restaurant at 7am, but she was quick at clearing plates.

Although I am a tea addict, I never have it when we are out in Vegas as it's usually awful. The water is rarely hot enough to make a proper cup of tea. Therefore I didn't notice whether they did tea. There was a machine for cappuccino, hot chocolate, etc.

Yes the machines had cranberry juice.

I had lunch there in March, and was pretty disappointed. A lot of breakfast meal things still left over, and it took me a while to figure out the self serve drink thing, although this did mean I could drink all the milk I wanted.

I try and get a little of everything first plate around, and then load up on what was good the second run, so even if there is only one decent entree sort of offering, I'm OK. Ended up having half a plate of Gai Lan the second time around, which was good, but kind of odd there wasn't a meat kind of dish from which I would have had seconds.

One of my favorite Buffets for breakfast and dinner. The meat at the carving station always seems very fresh and I also like the fact that you can pick out the ingredients at the salad bar and they will mix it up for you. One last + as a diabetic they always seem to have a decent selection of sugar-free deserts

I had the lunch buffet there last November. Probably the best lunch buffet I've ever had. A little pricey, but well worth it. I sat at the bar by myself and ate and read the paper. The bartender was quick with the soda refills. I'll be staying downtown in about a month and I'll definitely hit the Mirage lunch buffet at least once.

I am a fan, we have gone every year for at least the last six years. Worth the trip in my opinion.
