I'm planning a quick visit to Silver 7's on my upcoming trip as I've always been a huge Terrible's fan for some reason, although I'm not sure why. I have spent a decent amount of time there both while traveling and when I lived in Las Vegas. What has the new ownership done with the place?

They decimated the full VP. Increased all the prices in the store. Reduced comp items big time. No bonus points for the decent VP left. The players club is attached to the check in. On the positive sign the casino is cleaner. They updated some rooms, but the points to get a free room jumped quite a bit.
They added some machines to the exercise room. They ditched the omelete station in the buffet.

I still have Terrible's Buffet bogo/50% off coupons. Do you think they will still honor them?

The ribs special is gone as are many (Deuces Wild breakfast being the significant exception) of the other food specials. The 10/7 DB upstairs is gone. Lots of grumbling that the slots have been tightened. But hey if you can grab a free room and have a car it's still a great place to stay and you can't beat that Deuces Wild breakfast for sure!

They do give away buffets pretty easy, just swipe your card, you might get one. Check your coupon at the players club. Good luck.

Yeah I stayed there when it was terribles in october 2012. Was there the first day it turned to silver sevens. I hate how the player club is mixed in with hotel check in now. Haven't checked out the rooms now that it's silver sevens. The food took a turn for the worst and that to me is soooo disappointing!!! Terribles used to have great food. Angus burgers for 8 bucks and they were sooooo good. They had an amazing breakfast buffet!! Went to the buffet when it was silver sevens.....terrible!! Their tuna salad doesn't taste the way it used to taste either. The casino is the same overall but does seem like it's a little cleaner than it used to be.

Trust me folks. It's still Terribles. The Herbst Brothers still own the casino but the management is done by different people. The food (in the buffet) is Terrible. The Servce (in the cafe) is Terrible and the smoke is Terrible. Trust me...It's TERRIBLEs! lol.

I would know for sure because I live in the apartments right next door to the joint.

I will say however that although the service is spotty that I really enjoy the food in the cafe, the prices in the store while they have gone up are still a decent deal for a casino hotel, and that they have coupons all over town (in the touristy stands in hotel lobbies) for 5 bucks in free slot play 1 per person per month. I've gotten 15 bucks in free slot play since i've moved to vegas out of them.

It's 6am on a Friday and I'm about to go get me a Deuces Wild Breakfast for 2.99. It's cheaper for me to eat out than it is to go to the grocery store and buy all the stuff I need for pancakes, eggs, and bacon/sausage. Plus being a Flight Attendant it's hard for me to keep good food in the house because it goes bad. Terribles (S7s) is a godsend. With their Buy 1 Get 1 entre coupon in the back of the Vegas magazine I buy 1 steak for 13.99 and I get 1 free. I get 1 medium rare and 1 raw and throw the raw steak in the fridge for later that night. Grand total for 2 steaks and a bunch of onion rings and fries and a drink 16 bucks plus tip.

    Never thought of that

"And I'll have the other one Raw to take home" Good thinking, I never thought of getting a raw steak.

That is really a good idea. I guess they have no problem with that.

We were there last week for their deuces wild breakfast. Still a great bargin. I did notice that paytables upstairs weren't as good any longer, but we really only go there to eat, so I can't comment on the rest of the establishment. From my perspective nothing has changed.

We are by no means regulars at the Silver Sevens, however ....

1 - The VP has all been reduced ... not worth doing that anymore.

2 - We have done the Sunday dinner buffet twice since the change-over, and it was very good both times.

Terribles used to have great liquor buys and xmas packages for great prices, plus at 400 pts. to 1$ it was awesome. Thats been gone for 3 years.

    Actually, the opposite is true.

"In March 2009 Herbst announced its plans to enter a pre-arranged Chapter 11 bankruptcy whereby it would keep its slot routes but give ownership of its casinos to its creditors thus splitting its current operations into two holding companies. Herbst would continue to manage the casinos.[10] Herbst emerged from Chapter 11 on December 31, 2010 under new ownership and changed its name to Affinity Gaming, LLC on May 20, 2011.[11]"

Most of their previous help was gone within a year or so except for CW's. All the club personnel.

Terribles was my first home casino so I know the differences. Another T. benefit was their funbook it was filled with a variety of good gambling benefits eg. 100 extra coins on certain 4OAKs on certain days.

    Hey Now!
Ziggy and most of the rest of the bartenders are still there. They all had their hours cut though. In Jan. they still had 9/6 DB bartops, with a progressive royal.

I stopped in a couple trips back to check out the tables. Mid-afternoon weekday the (formerly) $5 DD DAS table was $10 min, with nobody playing. Now, 10 bucks isn't bad, but it's the principle, ya know?

Terribles had decimated the JOB paytables long before it was sold, and they had already stopped having the double royals promo as well as giving out the funbooks at the club.

I stayed there a couple times in the past, but would want a seriously discounted or free rate to stay there as opposed to downtown.

Thats recent history. My youngest son hit his 1st royal on a full pay nickel machine. I am dating my self. And if you look at only the last 3 years or so; there might be more positive changes. But before that its been a real loss for the vp player.

Just curious .... You say "full-pay nickel machine". What was the specific VP game, and what was the pay schedule ???

If they have full-pay nickel VP, it's news to me ....
