It looks like 6:5 BJ will be the future to increase revenue. If you want 3:2 BJ, you will have to play HL. It's unfortunate since local casinos are 3:2 relative to my location.

I was at MGM recently and encountered a very friendly Asian guy, blackjack dealer, at a $25 table, 3/2 and S17, midway between the craps tables and the hi-limit room. Good guy. As good as you're going to get in Vegas today.

Wynncore still offers 3;2 Blackjack and had lots of great action earlier this week. Venetian/Palazzo recently changed over to 6:5, with exception of the 2-deck shoes and if you complained they'd direct you to a corral of Blackjack slots which also pay 3:2. There are other options, you just have to look for them.

i really think your alone and i think the casino dont care, there selling 750$ bottle of booze and 100$ steak dinner and 300$ nite hotel rooms.drinks cost 15$.

enough drunk people sit at 6/5 tables that casinos dont need your 5$ any more.

why give you a free drink for playing 5$ a hand of bj why they sell you one for 15$

its all come down to math.

i see this nite after nite at the casinos. 99.99 dont know the differnce and start screaming when they get a bj on a 6/5 table there so happy.

    its now the norm

there selling the vegas experince ,its the whole package now

Well, they aren't selling any of that crap to me or anyone else where I go(downtown). The simple fact is that right now I have no problem playing my entire trip at 3/2 BJ , always at 5 or $10 tables, I dont pay for a single drink, my rooms are usually free(or under $30) and I eat pretty good for under $20 a day.

As for being alone...ahhh, I dont think so.

I would say that's true and the reverse as well, every property will thrive or fail based on their own merit, if a casino can get way with those outrageous prices, good for them, if they cant get way with it they will continue to offer what people like me want.

If that is their motto, then fine, they don't have to twist my arm, I'll stop going also! For everyone they lose, they're going to keep raising the price on that $750 bottle. Be careful what you wish for.

I used to think drinks on cruise ships were expensive. Not anymore.... compared to Vegas, they're Cheap! $25 buckets of 4 beers, and calls under $9, etc.. Tables are low limits, and CET Bar VP is now at the Cruise ship crappy levels.

The more gambling people that stop going to Vegas = higher and higher prices for all. For gambling people also buy food, go to shows etc... :poke:

Just what is the whole package anyways, overpriced food and shows, lousy gambling, EXPENSIVE drinks and clubs, and dishonest taxi drivers. Is that the whole package being referenced?

Granted, there is nothing like walking the Vegas Strip. But if I choose plan B, and someone says, yea, but it's not Vegas "eye Wink".

I'm agreeing with you. Your right, it's not Vegas (High priced everything with bad gambling as part of the total package) "Eye WINK".

yup and the fact that over 5000 a people pack a nite hakkasan , light , pure, marquee and the other nite clubs , and do the pool parties and pack the resturants means its working.

they just announce a mega concert venue between circus cicus on the strip with mgm, there biulding a new stadium at unlv, a new arean behind Monte Carlo for 20,000 people so mgm with have 3 areanas now. if it aint broke dont fix it.

not to mention the 100,000 plus people edc in june

so the 6/5 for most people havent a clue, most people pay the price do the long weekend and leave.

look at O basicaly always sold at a top ticket price off 250$

who would have thought criss angel wouldnt have closed after one week so there are suxers born every day:thumbsup:

look what venetian did. that says its all i belive they have the most rooms and they went to 6/5 they dont care about gamblers , they want to sell rooms ,entertainment and food much more profitable

Vegas hasn't been about "gambling" for a few years now. If you don't get that, I'm sorry.

I'm with the gamblers, but we are a dying breed, and we are being moved out. If I have a group of people willing to bring $1500 each for a weekend to blow on drinks/rooms/food/etc.....why in the hell would I risk my money on gamblers?

    Business 101, people.

, EXPENSIVE drinks and clubs. That's right at the newest gambling generation. Clubs is where it's at for now.
As far as overpriced food , it's not overpriced for me if it's good at most places.

Oh, and the next big thing in blackjack? You can bet your bottom line it will go like this:

"Never "push" on a natural blackjack again! EVERY dealt 21 is an IMMEDIATE winner! Even if the dealer has 21, YOU WIN!!!!! (All Natural 21's pay 1:1)

coming from nyc its dicounted for me, but vegas chater had an interisting graph recently that gambling was around 35% income

    the numbers dont lie.

i regular drink at the bar at cosmo around 14$ so they dont need too comp or want a 5$ bj player.

heres the vagas chater graph and article

I don't think you see that I'm agreeing with you.

Vegas is in a state of flux, transitioning from Baby Boomers and Generation X, to Generation Y and Millenniums.

Vegas needs both during this transition, and once complete (by 2025, just guessing), Vegas will NOT want baby boomers and Generation X is next in line for the chopping block.

If ALL baby boomers boycotted Vegas starting TODAY, Vegas would not survive, period! So they still need them for the transition.

What bothers me about Vegas, is that they still need baby boomers, but are offering less, to next to nothing, but they still want us spending money there. You see and read about the changes every year.

So, what is Vegas really offering, while they still need the revenue of that generation? Not much is all I can say. I don't plan on being a sucker, and plan B becomes more viable.

BTW, how many of those 100K crowd events are they doing a year..... a few here and there, not enough to carry the load. That's nothing compared to their convention business. And some year, the idea of a 100K crowd event will make you go, ughhhhhhhhhh.

Why waste valuable Vegas time, being in one of those sardine events. Great for when you are young enough. But later on..... ughhhhhhhhhh.

And some day, Vegas is going to do it to YOUR GENERATION. :evillaugh

And as far as most Y and and Millenniums know, 6/5 is normal. They don't know anything else and Vegas is smart enough to do this. They change to the new generations money and gambling isn't #1 tight now
