Would people be interested in a Memories of the Playboy Club thread?

Palms had a Playboy Club. I was in it several times.

I have thought about doing a thread on it because maybe some of the newer visitors would wonder what the club was like.

For those reading, when it first opened it was a high stakes little casino I think with roulette and blackjack and bartop video poker as I recall. I can proudly say I only won at the Playboy Club, playing blackjack and bartop video poker.

I recall being shocked that the bar top VP had good pay schedules.

 

I watched a new dealer training session at a BJ table back then.Very good-looking trainees..
And all of those Playboy chips are still in circulation..Kills me as a collector as I want them all!

 

In circulation where down on main floor or up top. don't play there much. But started a small chip collection about 5 years ago.

 

Having never made it there, I'd be curious to hear more about it.

What's Playboy? Is that a magazine that used to exist before there were naked ladies on the Internet?

 

I went to the Playboy casino in Atlantic City. Very posh.

 

I went there the first night of my first trip in town. We went to a concert at the Pearl and they were handing out passes as we exited. I still have a pic taken by my ex wife a month before we divorced!!

 

Never made it there, but seeing your chips reminds me of the ones I had been collecting for a while.
I had several from the Hard Rock with former playmates. Still have the collection, not as much a thrill as it was then.

 

Yes, Playboy clubs/casinos go for a high end image. The one near Cancun was very plush before it was closed by the authorities down there. They charged $20 or 200 pesos just to get in the joint.
