My experience with comps is fairly limited. I've gotten free drinks, lol. I got the poker rate at Wynn a few years ago, also free food at the poker room. At Borgata in AC I would play poker and then use my card to get a slice of pizza or a Starbucks. I'm trying to focus my gambling a bit and mostly play VP. I like MSS a lot and joined their players club. I understand, correct me if I'm wrong, that 600 points is worth $1. Say I look at my account and see I have 12000 points. Great, that is worth $20! I'm rich! How do I get that $20 for the 777 brewpub or for the Buffet? Do I just present my players card when paying? How do I get cash back or free play? I feel a bit dumb about this. I'm smart! Not like everybody says... like dumb... I'm smart and I want respect! Well maybe not respect, but I wouldn't mind a few comps.
For simplicity sake if a buffet cost 10$ it is 6000 points...no taxes...just multiply cost times 600 for every dollar the object is priced. And don't be afraid ti ask for clarification....they are friendly and someone new comes in each day. Good luck!
If you want to use points to pay for the Garden Court Buffet, when you get to the front of the line simply say "I'd like to pay using points, please." Then, hand the friendly cashier your player's card and your drivers license (or other government issued ID). At 777 - when the check comes - give your player's card and your ID to your server (or bartender, if you're like me and prefer to sit at the bar). If you want to receive cash back with your points, take your player's card and ID to the Bconnected Club (between 777 and the hotel check-in) and ask for cash back. The Bconnected representative will ask how many of your points you'd like to redeem for cash. She/he will call a supervisor over to sign a form, and then you'll take that form to the cashier to get your cash.
At MSS or Boyd casinos, 1000 points is $1.00 if you cash in your points. It is a different story if you pay by points. For example, say you accumulated 10,000 points which is equivalent to 10 dollars. If the meal costs 10 dollars, you will pay 10 dollars if you pay by cash. If you pay with your card, there is a 40 percent discount. Your meal costs will be 6000 points or the equivalent of 6 dollars. There will still be 4000 points left on your card. I did not mention the buffet because the 40 percent discount does not apply. I think you get a dollar off regardless if paying by points or cash if you show your players card.
This is a good point, and well explained. Just to add to that (and hopefully not cause confusion): The 40% discount only applies at Boyd-owned restaurants (e.g. 777 Brewpub). If you went to Tony Roma's at The Fremont, for example, you could still pay with points, but you would not receive the 40% discount (so a $10 meal would cost 10,000 points).
I always get the 600 points = $1 value when I use points at the MSS buffet ... just like at the 777 Brewpub.
If you play enough at MSS, and earn a few thousand card points in a day, you can also go to the MSS player's club, and ask to speak to a host to request a FREE comp to the buffet. 3000 points (in a day) should easily get you a free comp to the next morning breakfast buffet ... and 5000 points earned in a day, should get you a free comp to the dinner buffet (but not on "specialty" days like Friday).
Get the American Casino Guide for $15 and use the earn 250 points get a buffet for free and keep the points. One at MSS and one at California. Plus you will have many other coupons to us.
On top of this...if you're playing at this level, they should send you mailers which include 3 free nights per month, as well as $40 food credit ($20 x 2) Definitely a generous slotclub.
My apologies. I was basing it when we ate at Orleans last year and they only gave us a dollar off. Spoke to the buffet manager and he said that was the policy at Orleans. I had been using a Silver Card until 2012 and than downgraded and used the Aloha Coupon Book last year at MSS
