Not sure why a taxi would (world?) be cheaper to go from Excalibur to downtown and then from downtown to Ricks. There is a charge as soon as you get into a taxi so it would be cheaper to go from Excalibur to Ricks or the Neon Graveyard rather than taking 2 different taxis.

Got it, yes it would be cheaper from downtown. I think Ricks is by the outlet mall downtown and I think it is about $20 each way from the mid strip hotels.

For taking the monorail and then walking to Stratosphere you might as well take a taxi: the monorail is going to cost you $10 to get from MGM to The Sahara/SLS stop whereas a taxi will cost about $8-10 (taxi will actually be more than that but thats the drop fee which you would have to pay at Stratosphere anyhow).

For taking The Deuce from Excalibur to Downtown: if you do that you will save about $15 versus just taking a taxi from Excalibur... however the tradeoff is you will be giving up about an hour to hour and a half of vacation time to save that $15. Personally when I am on vacation I'd rather have an extra hour of vacation time than worry about saving a couple of bucks.

Check the schedule for the WAX-- it only runs about every 50 min--but it would be preferable to the Deuce to get DT from the Ex. Board on Tropicana Blv next to NYNY--$2, about 20 min to DT.
