I just got back from Vegas last weekend on monday. I'm not a High Roller, but I dropped probably around 1.2k-1.4k evenly in slots, tables, and bar poker at various MGM properties.

I just checked my mlife account and I'm not even half way to pearl... Kinda dissapointing since i've gotten to about 90% of the way with half that amount spent. I don't really understand how they are tallying up my play.

Is there a chance that table play takes a little while to reflect on the site?

I'm really starting to consider switching to CET or LVS properties for good. I was really relying on this trip to get me some good offers for my June trip I have planned for EDC.

Tables gets you very little points for tier levels. Anything under 25 a hand isn't rated as well (for craps this does not include odds).

Premium slots earn points at the same rate as video poker. Only the non-premium slots earn points somewhat quickly. Depending how bad your luck is, I can see why you wouldn't move too quickly. That being said, I'd think you'd be at least pearl after dropping 1g.

Firstly, your offers will be based on ADT/Theo not your tier...so the fact that you didnt make pearl doesnt mean your offers will suffer.

Table game TCs do take longer than slots to hit, but if its been almost a week they probably hit already.

Slots are 10 TCs per $3 coin-in, VP/Specialty Slots are 10 TCs per $10 Coin-in, and table games are about 33 TCs per $1 Theo.

I have a similar BR as you, and I mainly play slots and VP, and I usually get between 12k and 15k TCs...so your results dont seem out of the ordinary.

If you provide more information on what you played, i.e denomination of slots and VP, what table games at what level for how many hours. We can crunch some rough numbers and see about how many TCs you should have gotten

The $25 a hand minimum to be rated is no longer true...has been confirmed several times at several different casinos

Eh, these are really rough numbers, but i sat at slots for about 2-3 hours and averaged probably 2-3 bucks per spin. (i'm not a huge fan of slots but if I do play them i usually go big)

VP and VBJ was probably 3-5 hours around $1 a hand.

Tables - played for 5-6 hours total averaging $20 a hand. (I'm counting electronic craps and electronic BJ on this too)

I believe that electronic craps doesn't count towards tier credits.

How much you've won or lost doesn't mean much in terms of TC's. It's all about coin-in on slots and it doesn't matter if I started with $100 or $10,000. If your BR is about 1.2k and split evenly that means you have about $400-$500 and at that level $10/hand blackjack is reasonable. You'd have to play close to 100 hours of blackjack to get to Pearl by only playing blackjack. Your level will get decent offers from places like NYNY or Monte Carlo and a comp room here or there isn't unreasonable.

But don't get too hung up on your tier color. ADT is king for the most part. As in how much do they expect you to lose. It's fully possible that you as a Sapphire card holder could get more comps than me the Gold card holder.

Electronic blackjack is counted similar to VP I think, or was this the machine with the creepy virtual dealer?

Nope not that one, this was at mandalay. Looks a lot like the electronic roulette machine.

Slots: 2.5 hours at 500 hands per hour is 1250 hands at $2.50 per hand thats $3125 coin-in or 10k TCs

VP: 4 hours at 500 hands per hour is 2000 hands at $1 a hand is $2000 coin-in or 2k TCs

Tables: (assuming Blackjack) 4 hours at 70 hands per hour is 280 hands, at $20 a hand thats $5600 put at risk 3% HA = $168 theo or 5.5k TCs

Based on your number you should have gotten around 17k TCs...

Without knowing what you play and at what level, this information doesn't add much value.

Also, you can't really estimate TCs based on how much you lost...its all about coin-in and Theo

Can you provide more information on this. I was told $25 to be rated by the mlife players desk at MGM in January 2014.

Also, if you're betting more than $25 at a lower min table, will you get rated?

I have been rated below $25/hand many times. Kinda up to the pit boss I guess, but there is no set in stone rule that under $25/hand does not get rated

My guess is that you earned most of the TCs spending money on property (pool, hotel, restaurants). You get 25 TC per $1 spent so if your total stay at the hotel was $1,000, you earn Pearl status. However that will get you nothing for room comps, only the basic benefits of MLife's Pearl level.

It's all about how much you cycled through the casino, which sounds like not much so I wouldn't expect much for future offers.

I was rated at $10-$20 per hand at Monte Carlo and NYNY last August.

Also, I want to point out that you wouldn't get much love from LVS at this kind of play and if you wanted offers for EDC weekend, you'd be hard pressed to get comped rooms/good rates as rates skyrocket during that weekend.

Same. NYNY and Monte are good enough for me.

At The Mirage I've been told straight up by the dealer or pit boss to bet $25 if I want to be rated.

    They will rate you.
Unfortunately, being rated at $20 hand on BJ accumulates very little in terms of TC or EC.
VP has been increased in that you need more dollars now to accumulate a tier credit.

If increasing your tier level and or express comps is your goal, your better off using your entire bankroll on an old style slot machine.

Other than that play what you want and have fun.

Remember, with MGM, some slots, like "entertainment slots" (Willy Wonka, etc...) are rated differently (lower) than standard slots or non-theme slots, I believe by half, if I remember correctly
