    My Trip Report

As stated before, every now and then my wife picks up a night shift.

Some times I sneak out of work after lunch and head up to Vegas and come back in the morning.

This time I drove from Los Angeles, 270 miles, took 4 hrs with traffic and 2 pee breaks. I arrive at Cosmo, it's my new home base. I used to use aria, but the comps were not as good for me.

I didn't set up a room yet, so I just head straight for the tables. I txt my host, luckily he works nights and got my a terrace one bedroom.

I didn't go to the bank before leaving so I was just playing with my home stash. Over 2 shoes. I bought in for 500, playing a little aggressive. I have that bad habit of poor pacing when I arrive.

The last hand of that buy in, 100 bet. I get an ace  . I'm thinking I don't have to tap my loc. of course no picture comes, but I get another ace. Dealer has a 6 showing. It's funny how often the last of the chip you play require a double down or split. I reach in my wallet, and just had a little over 100 in small bills.

Donate my money, and split the aces, BAM one gets a 3 and the other gets a 4. Then I'm praying for a bust, dealer flips over 5. For total of 11. I'm back to  dealer draws an ace, I'm :evillaugh saved by an ace. Dealer proceeds to draw 3 more little cards for a total of 18. :grrr:

At this point, I probably should have went to my room, or moved tables or drive home. Instead I decide to tap my credit. Cosmo has this funny rule that u can only take out 25% at a time. They let me get 3k. New shoe, just as ugly, I drop 2200 on that shoe, blanking on my doubles.

Almost every time I double and get my 19, 20 or 21 dealer busted anyways. Every double that I actually needed a large card, lost to dealers 17, 18, 19s. Very frustrating. Down to 800, I decide to stick it out and run back to 2800. I should have  but I wanted to chase back my 800. This was a bad idea and I left with one purple.

Called a friend in Vegas and get talked into going downtown. We ate a late dinner at pizza rock. Tried 2 different pies. Wish we had more people to try the different crusts. It was good and service was good.

My friend like to gamble smaller, we head to dt grand. Fished around about the Gucci hat guy but no one was talking. Played some ultimate holdem. I really liked the table crews/dealers in downtown. Every one was nice, no hint of attitude. They really wanted customers.

I don't spend a lot of time in dt, but at the $25 level of baccarat. You can mess/bend the cards. I had fun playing. Ended up 300 playing red chip levels.

Drive back to Cosmo, head to aria for a scene change. Tried the free bet black jack. Was fun, prob my favorite variant compared to, Spanish and switch, and this told combo war/21/ 3 card poker game cet use to have.
I would have played more but some obnoxious folks came and slowed the game so much I was getting irritated

Ended up playing 25 craps' go on a mini heater, I rolled 5 points with a few come bets but the last 7 was very costly. Got back 1k, It's 4am and down 2k. Somehow I remember VMB and all these slot win pictures etc. I decide to dump 1k in a 5 dollar top dollar slot, got the bonus once. First offer was 200 then we repicked, until it was only a 50. Burn through give up. I'm in no condition to drive so I head to the room. Slept for a few hrs and camelback down for one last push. Markered in for 2k. One choppy black jack shoe with one good one and I run it up 3k. I have enough to pay off both markers and have a few hundred extra. I called a quits and grab a burger at Holsteins. Drive back took 3.5 hrs. No traffic or pee breaks.

I usually let my host check out for me so he can back end it.

I believe he is referring to the guy suing the grand. He wore a Gucci hat in a tv interview.

OP - Nice report. Glad you were able to battle back to near even before heading home.

This - D00uchbag Ground Zero Mark Johnston, who has been on several "newscasts", angling for some "reality" show or some other angle beyond skipping out on his $500K tab, and then having the nerve to sue for an additional amount as a result of "harm to his reputation" after The Downtown Grand factually reported to the Hard Rock Casino this d00uchbag's modus operandi of skipping out on half million dollar tabs. He has multiple douchy hats but they don't seem to help. A full burqa would help.

3 hrs and 148 bet and theo 227 according to my host, all black jack play.

seems like the theo is a little low but who can argue against the computer.

Absolutely! WHO wears those Gucci hats?!? He has at least 2 of them.

It also now sounds like the casino tried to deposit the markers and they bounced, if you read between the lines. He said he was offered a 20 percent discount but after the lawsuit hit they "tried" to steal 100k from him. That means the markers were deposited but not paid.

What a disaster. The guy gets no sympathy from me, we've all been there and paid up after the fact. His attorney said he "doesn't habitually drink to the point of intoxication" which is almost certainly false. His speech and thought patterns are those of someone who has damaged a lot of brain cells.

Furthermore, I simply don't buy that he cannot remember anything that happened for 44 hours.

    Great report, thanks.

One random point - I just took out a small 6k line, just to avoid large fees if I hit my ATM limit. Just this past Saturday I used it twice. First draw was 2k (33%) and my 2nd draw was for 4k (66%).

I wound up winning and paying it off same night, but no one flinched or mentioned 25% rule to me....

Nice report. True gambler sneaking out after lunch to Vegas without telling the wife. My friends could learn a lesson from you.

I wished I lived in LA, so close. My flights take 3.5-4 hours.

I will have to try the Cosmo soon.

Just curious, what was your avg bet and theoretical in order to get the room comped?

not sure what the line is, the generic answer, including theirs was $200 an hr x 4 hrs at blackjack

When I met my host, it was for 170 x 4 hrs on an drive up and drive home trip.
(it was funny because this was at a 200 min table). I did not dispute this, and he just gave me a 60 dollar café comp on paper.

Since then, I use him for booking rooms. I was told, he will book the corporate offers if possible, and give me more FB on the back end.

im low maint customer, I don't "maximize" my credits and I don't drink enough to max out FB.

Cool, not bad. I'll try Cosmo probably after my next trip. Planning to play stay at Encore instead of Wynn for the Pac man fight.
