Got this idea from another post. For those of you that have stayed on the strip for the first visit, and then did the strip again on the second visit...

What was better on the 2nd visit? Did you stay at the same strip Hotel, or move to a different location? We stayed at Bally's the first time, and did a hotel split the second time. Starting at Bally's again, up to the LVH for the weekend cheap rates, and ending at Paris.. Yummmm Paris in Vegas. :nworthy:

The first visit was awesome. Second visit was.... better... not better than the first? Not sure how to answer that, for it goes both ways.

What about your second Strip stay??? And what did you do different on the strip?

The second trip is about refinement or shaking things up.

Refinement...you revisit what you enjoyed the first trip and wanted to do/see again.

Shake-up...stay someplace else and visit all of the things you missed on the first trip.

Some things no doubt, were very enjoyable the first trip, but on the second visit, sort of ho-hum. Caesar's show in the mall was one of them for me. The fountains however, were just as neat to see the second time around.

Let's see. My second trip was definitely better than my first.

I stayed in a two story penthouse instead of a regular room.
I stayed for a week instead of one day.
I won money instead of losing it.
I saw some really good shows instead of none.
I ate at excellent restaurants instead of just blt burger.
I went with friends, my girlfriend, my dad, his friends instead of just my dad and uncle.

So much more entertaining the second time around. The first trip opened the door and the second trip was when the floodgates unleashed.

My first trip was a whirlwind 2 nights that went way too fast. My 2nd trip was 4 nights and wasn't such a rush. I got to see almost all of the properties and really enjoyed the extra time.

We stayed at Harrah's for the first trip and the Flamingo for the 2nd. We had chose Harrah's because we had one at home and were familiar with it. The Flamingo was almost the same in every way so not much changed there.

First trip with DH we stayed at the NYNY - and even though we did love the hotel (but our room was teeny-tiny!!), we realized that we didnt like the location. We liked to spend more time mid-strip and we did a lot of walking!!

We did eat at some great places and saw some great shows, but I can say that Vegas is a little overwhelming since I wasnt sure where to go, or how the slot machines worked or even the ticket/cash machines worked...but we caught on quick!

The 2nd trip we stayed at the Paris and LOVED the location and the hotel. We were upgrades to a LeMans suite and it was HUGE!!

We were more comfortable in the casinos and we knew where we were going and the ins & the outs!!

The 3rd trip was a girls-only trip with myself and my sister and we stayed at Ballys - trying to keep the budget under control!!

We had a great time but came home sick as dogs....

Im currently planning our next trip with DH and we're staying at the Bellagio...and I cant wait!!

Holly crap! That is our Dream!!! (or the Cosmo Fountain View).

We are booked for Pho in May, and I sometimes tease myself looking at rates for these two places. This weekend, I did it again (hurts) and was surprised the AAA Bellagio Fountain view room rate was $1100 compared to the Cosmo version of $1250 (then add taxes and resort fees for both ).

How I love to tease myself with Vegas Porn...... We have a five night PHo Resort room ($530 + taxes, no resort fees) with a confirmed up high Fountain View, I love it, and that is the best it gets for people like us, and grateful!!!!

WOW, you are going to live our dream. Now for a little extra, I have to suggest the Salone Fountain View Suite, the next notch up from the Premier Fountain view room..

We watched a youtube video of this room. They are located at the very ends of the building and have two windows. The one we watched has window facing fountains (of course) and the other window was facing Caesar's. The bed in right in the middle of the two big beautiful windows!!!

Holly crap!!!! However, if we can ever swing it (not likely), we would be soooooooo happy with just a regular Fountain View Bellagio room!

    Live the Dream my friend!!!!

This will be our 1st trip, but it is 8 days so a decent amount of time and we are hotel hopping.

If we ever go back we will refine like a pp said and catch the things we did not get to but want to explore.

I can't see us going back anytime soon but who knows. I will take my son when he is 21 if he wants, that is still 6 years away so lots of time to plan and save. So far he does not drink and even if he keeps it that way i would still take him.

That would be a great time to go back as i turn 40 two months before he turns 21. I would definitely stay higher end mid strip if we make it back.

My first trip was interesting. I had filed divorce in February and in March my now ex-wife convinced me to give it another 90 days. We booked a vegas vacation, thinking that may do the trick. We left in June and while I fell in love with LV I also realized that the issue that caused me to file divorce was a fatal hit and not something I could recover from and get past.

We stayed at PH, which was a good choice at the time. We took a shuttle which wasn't bad because we were one of the first stops. I had no idea how to deal with clubs, we got a bit hosed on that one.

On my return trip I shopped rates a bit smarter and stayed at Caesars for less money. Went with a group of friends and had a real good trip. This would be our last shuttle ride though, Caesars is not one of the first stops and we were on it forever!!

First time back in March 2010 was a bit of an impulse buy - Obviously we'd heard of Las Vegas, but hadn't ever considered going there on holiday. We got an email through from Expedia with deals on, and we booked 5 days at Planet Hollywood. Even though I had picked up some kind of bug on the plane and was ill for most of the time - we were bowled over by the over the top extravagance of it all and vowed to return!

Which we did in October 2010. This time we were older and wiser. We booked for longer this time, 7 days. We'd walked around a lot of the hotels the first time, so had a better idea of where to stay, so we chose MGM as we liked it and it was good value.

The second visit was much better for lots of reasons. I wasn't ill for a start! We didnt feel the need to race around all the tourist "Must do's". Also we knew our way around a little and it all helps. Knew some restaurants that we liked (and ones that didn't live up to the hype - looking at you, Harley Davidson Cafe!).

Everytime since it's just got better. Love it!

oooohh..now I never said we were doing a suite - even though that would be AWESOME!! My plan is to book as cheap as I can for January, and then slip a $20 or $50 at check in, batt my eyes, and say that we're here for our 21st wedding anniversary....which we will be!!

and then HOPE and pray and keep all fingers crossed that we get an upgrade!!

I just want to be able to say that I've stayed there!!! :rolleyes2:
