I'm considering (just considering) ending my self-imposed exile from the Wynn BJ tables. Lack of a good DD game and a total inability to win are the main reasons why I have hardly played there in the last few years.

So what's the latest on Wynn and Encore? I'll assume there is still no good DD game. What about 6 deck? I am looking for all the best rules - S17, DAS, RSA, late surrender. There has always been the pit near the HL area at Wynn, although I read that the number of tables has been reduced. I assume that the game is available in the Wynn HL lounge and possibly Encore HL (I'm not sure about RSA there).

Can anyone give me the latest on availability and likely table minimums (probably weekend but not a big weekend). I know all about Wizard of Vegas and CBJN but I'm looking for recent personal experience. Thanks.

Most tables in Encore wich haven't been removed altogether are now 6:5. Most tables at Wynn that were S17 have been changed to H17 in the past year. IIRC there are now only a very few (2?) S17 games outside high limit. They are $50 or $100 limit. It's pretty grim. Bellagio and Aria offer the most options given what you are looking for.

Plenty of those good six deck games at Wynn, still. But Encore has banished S17 from the main floor, sadly. :grrr: You can still find it in the HL room, though.

You might be right about Wynn reducing the number of the good six deck games (they've shuffled the pits and slots around a few times in the past couple of years). But there are still plenty and mins are still mostly $50 to $100 (the latter more likely at night).

I'll be back in about a month. I'll update you then.

In regards to RSA at Encore: back when they used to have the S17 games on the main floor, they always let me re-split them, despite what the survey stated. I don't know if it was a mistake on the part of the survey or the dealers (though the fact that multiple dealers allowed it leads me to believe its a misprint/mistake by CBJN). I haven't played a shoe game at Encore since they did away with S17 on the floor, though. So I really can't confirm the HL rules these days.

HL at Encore is Vegas rules (6 deck S17 DAS RSA LS). Typically tables are at 100 min. (or 1 table at 100 and 1 at 200), going up on busy weekends, fight weigh-ins etc. As has been stated, these rules are no longer available on the floor at Encore.

If you don't mind the 100 min, playing alone, and not getting very good comps, Encore is nice atmosphere and drink service. Otherwise, stick with MGM/Bellagio/Aria. Not sure about Mirage, haven't been there in a while, but they used to have good S17 games on the floor.

The Wynn floor S17 games are typically 100 anyway, or not open.

Thanks for the responses. It does not seem like the best setup but there are good games available in certain locations. I'll give it a bit more thought.

I know there are plenty of good games elsewhere. I usually play at MGM casinos, especially Bellagio, but was wondering what Wynn has to offer these days.

Do you have any specific thoughts on comps? From what I have read, Wynn/Encore seemed as generous as Bellagio/Aria when it came to backend comps. I'm not sure about upfront comps.

I play at the 100-200 level and can get a couple free nights from Bellagio. Wynn/Encore won't comp me anything but a buffet or two. Never tried getting comps at Aria.

With respect to comps, I’ve always had much better luck at Wynn than I have at the top tier MGM places. Before I added VP to my gambling repertoire, the offers from Milf would often be better than those from Wynn. But Wynn would more than make up for it on the back end. At Aria/Bellagio, I’d get what I had earned in EC’s (and whatever resort credit and freeplay the offer came with). At Wynn, they would usually take care of most, if not all, of my charges.

Now that VP is a big part of my gambling (still the same bankroll but better theo, I imagine), the offers/comps at Wynn have improved considerably. I get Tower Rooms and usually a decent amount of freeplay upfront and still get a fair amount of my room charges taken care of at the end of the trip. To be fair, I’ve never given Milf the same amount of VP action that I give Wynn. So, I can’t say what Bellagio or Aria would do for me these days.

In regard to the carve's comment about CBJN's W/E listings.
They have kept the Wynn s17 # of tables at the same total as years ago. That pit right by the B Bar now has shrunk, they've added 2 roulette tables last year and most of the tables left are closed. I have seen the s17's there at $25 on rare occasions mid-day though.
CBJN lists no RSA at Encore and I split aces 3 times in the HL room (got 4 faces, good night that was).
MGM has the most consistent # of s17 games on the floor at $25. For $50, the new Whisky room is cool.

As of a few hours ago, five of the good six deck tables (S17, DAS, RSA, late surrender) existed on the main floor at Wynn. Four were open: one at $50, one at $100, one at $200 and one "Reserved". Though, today was the last day of ConExpo and the first day of NASCAR weekend - it is a freaking madhouse. So, I'd imagine that the mins and the number of tables open are higher than usual. I'll keep an eye on them as the crowds thin out Mon and Tue.

I haven't gone into the HL room yet. Nor have I checked Encore's offerings.

Thanks for the live update! Nothing beats reporting from the casino floor.

I hope the trip goes well. Keep away from short pay DDB.:poke:

Lol. The short pay (9/5 with a 28K royal prog) was the only thing I won on tonight! BJ (6 and 2 deck), 9/6 DDB and craps all kicked me in the gut today. Fortunately a few quads on the 9/5 progressives a few minutes ago kept it from being a complete blood bath. :rolleyes2: But tomorrow is another day.

Those triple double machines in front of the high limit red card club await........

The dollar windfall over by allegro was nearly $20k two weeks ago... It usually hits around $14k. The double gold machines were the nicest.

Good luck and please recover my money. :evillaugh

Well, after the NASCAR/ConExpo crowd thinned out, the number of open tables and minimums went down, as expected. It seemed like the norm became two tables open in the day (usually both at $50 mins, sometimes one or both would be higher but there was always one at $100 or less every time I checked) and three at night (usually 1-2 at $50-100 and one at $200-500).

Sadly, I didn't recover any of your money, luvstp. I managed to claw back a little bit of my own on the last day when I switched to Boner Deluxe and went on a nice quad streak. But I think I probably paid for Steve's next face lift or Andrea's next boob job. Heck, I even brought him a few grand of Deutsche Bank's money.

The $1 Windfall in the Southeast part of the casino was over $20K when I was there. I pissed away a few hundred on it but got nowhere...so I went back to pissing away my money on DDB and blackjack. :rolleyes2:

Out of curiosity, what are the limits in the high limit room? Is it$100-$200? I know on a busy weekend it can be $300-$500 at any higher end resort, and are the tables S17, etc?

I didn't make it over to Encore much last week. So I never went into its HL room. Wynn's room never had a table for less than $300 that I saw. It was very busy while I was there, but I don't think I've ever seen less than $200 mins at Wynn's HL room. The tables are S17.

Thanks again for the updates. There is not enough good BJ at Wynn/Encore to entice me back. 2-4 tables of 6 deck S17, no good DD and HL minimums at $200+ do not do it for me. I know that BJ conditions are heading south everywhere but while Bellagio and Aria continue to offer plenty of tables with the good rules, I'll stick with them. :peace:
