Lucky he was off the aircraft when the pilot got this. Canadian women can respond very strongly to sexism.

 

Guess he would just stay on the ground if he knew how many female air traffic controllers are keeping his sorry ass safe.

 

Stats show women drivers are safer than men. So, maybe female pilots are safer too.

Westjet knows the seat he was in, it would be nice if his identity was posted for the world to see, or maybe he should publicly come out to the world.

Wonder how he'd (we assume it's a "he" but could easily be a "she") would respond to this here happily childless woman with no desire to achieve the "most honor" of motherhood

 

Sadly... I'm sure he's not alone. I like the old Ann Richards (former Governor of Texas) line... "Ginger Rogers did EVERYTHING Fred Astaire did, but did it backwards and in high-heels!" I was at a conference of about 1,000 (about half men, half women) when she said it... the ladies LOVED it and the men know it's true!

Holy moly, that is crazy. But unfortunately there are many people out there today (men and women) who sitll have this way of thinking. I guess it all depends on their upbringing.

 

I think he really was more sexist than he would be racist. A lot of men around here are like that.

When i fly (at least 10 trips now) I don't give any thoughts to whether it is a man or a woman or what their skin color is. I haven't had a woman yet; but the only thing i care about is that they have the experience and qualifications to fly the plane. I am confident they do or they would not be in that seat.

 

I flew with an all female crew on Delta from Atlanta to Baltimore. IMHO, they handled some very gnarly weather conditions (snow storm during landing) as good as any male crew could have.

The Air Force also had an all-female crew flying KC-10 tankers over Iraq. There are many female pilots in the military who have flown in combat and distinguished themselves. Any woman who jockeys an FA-18 and is carrier qualified is really, really good, IMHO.

In fact, I had a female Navy Captain as my boss for 3 years and she was probably one of the best Navy officers I ever worked for.

 

I think most of this stuff is fake.

I don't really care if the pilot is a man or a woman, black or white, as long as they are trained and know what they are doing. That's all that matters as far as I'm concerned.

flying a plane is easy. landing the giant metal tube of humanity at the right runway, at the right time and in one piece - not so much. As long as the pilot can do that and has as much, or more, regard for their own life than mine then I don't care if its, male, female, beiber or friggin ALF.
