    Hi all

Wasnt sure if this should go under "entertainment" or "Gambling".

I really enjoyed the 'pleasure pit' at PH.

I understand they also have similar at NYNY and Paris?

Any others on the strip and any thoughts on them?

What time do they usually get going? Which ones do you like and why?

    Thanks

Which ones do I like? None of them. House is built on losers money so I'd rather not give than more advantage than necessary. Terrible house edge in blackjack with H17 and 6/5 on blackjack instead of 3/2. I'd rather go play a real table at 3/2 with S17 for a higher limit and watch the dancers from a distance. Rest of the games in party pits are carny games so only play when I'm really drunk and up money.

I have not seen one in a party pit, not enough of a house edge to be there. Those pits are designed to lure in people for the entertainment and hope they don't realize they are playing games with extra house advantage.

Haven't stayed at NYNY for a while and don't recall them having a Party PIt.

Usually gamble at Paris each trip and just returned a week or so again and don't recall them having a Party Pit.

Now PH I know does.:beer:

Sorry didn't really answer your question but I would like to know if Paris does have one and I am usually too drunk to notice. I can tell you for sure they don't exist at the Craps table.

Paris does have one. The pussycat dolls pit at CP features possibly the worst rules on live blackjack anywhere in Nevada. A few hundred feet from some of the best.

To me, sexy dancers and blackjack are like drinking and golf. Both fun, don't go well together.

If you go downtown to Golden Gate or The D, when they have the dancing dealers take over the gaming pits(in the evening into the night), you'll get the party pit atmosphere on decent 3:2 blackjack games. They also deal Pai Gow Poker at both casinos. They are the only places, I know of, that where you get party pit Pai Gow.

lol, winning is great, but I'm there to have fun. I work hard all year, so if giving up an extra 2.5% is the cost of more fun, thats fine by me! Win-Win

Indeed on both pits. Walking by CP's pit and seeing the doubling 10/11 only rule made me sad.

And for Paris, I like that pit because I can play drunken video poker at Gustav's bar and get a great view is the dancers.

I work in a small casino on the East Coast and that is what we are getting ready to do here is put in a Party Pit.

The only Party Pit I saw on my last trip was the Pussycat Dolls at Caesars. I didn't actually sit down and play I just walked by a few times and watched. I didn't watch long. I know they dress like that to draw attention to themselves but I still feel uncomfortable if I'm staring and gawking at them for too long. Especially if I'm not playing

When I was in town last week, Bally's had a section of scantily clad dealers on Monday night. Then there were scantily clad dealers with dancers at the Las Vegas Club on Freemont on Tuesday and the same group of them (at least the dancers in thongs) were at Paris on Wednesday. I didn't play at all on those tables but looking was fun!

I'm there to have fun as well. I'd take my extra 2.5% and potential winnings and go to the Rhino or Sapphire or a night club and see much better looking girls for the same cost of playing at bad odds for a couple hours. Just me, winning is what makes gambling fun not girls. There are plenty other place to pay for the eye candy.

Is there any way of knowing when the various pits open on a midweek night?

I believe that the PH Party Pit is open every day. I'd assume most resorts would follow.

I remember 10 or so years ago playing in the "party pit" at Harrahs on the strip. It was loud music with the dealers acting a little more lively than usual. Lots of high fives etc....

    How far we've come.

The PussyCat Dolls pit at Caesars has the absolutely worst BJ rules on the planet. 8-decks, H17, 6:5 on blackjack, only double on 10 or 11, no-double after split and no resplit aces. Horrifying.

At Planet Hollywood it isn't the Party Pit specifically because the go-go dancers are at the other pit, but there is a pit with just 4 blackjack tables near the high-limit where the dealers are always smokin' hot and wearing those bustiers and fishnets all the way up. The rules are the standard CET rules (H17, NDAS on the 2-deck, but surrender added on the shoes), with three 8-decks shoes and one 2-deck, all $25 limit. I play there a lot. Starts after 8PM.

I really don't want the go-go dancers in my face, anyway. They're hot and all, but it's a little bit too much like a strip-club and not what I'm looking for while gambling. I much prefer the scantily clad dealers that know how to fill the uniform.

For lower limits and if you don't care about the bad blackjack rules, the Flamingo has a good one up front. Or you can play 3-card poker with the same odds as everywhere else.

Planet Hollywood's Party Pit dancers and dealers start up at 8PM every night, AFAIK. They make a big deal with a parade of all the girls and whistles and giving out Mardi Gras beads right at 8PM when they all arrive to open the pit.

I've been told the go-go dancers often just dance and don't deal, and never do both on the same night. But some might do both.
