I just (double) booked Cosmo for my trip in a few weeks to take advantage of the Deutsche-bags' largess (in the form of an unusually large amount of promo chips and some restaurant credit).

So what kind of tables can I expect to find at Cosmo these days? I'd like to play at $100/hand. But if bumping it up to $200 will get me a better game, I'm willing to do that...at least until the promo chips run out. I'll be "staying" there on a Monday-Tuesday.

Obviously, even the worst rules are still +EV when you're playing with promo chips. But I'm just wondering if I should plan to make an afternoon of it or just do a hit-and-run. The most recent CBJN I have (Nov '13) says there are H17 DD games at $200 and 6D S17 games at $100, and I found both of these the last time I was there (Sept '13). But I've read plenty of threads complaining about Cosmo BJ lately, so I wanted to get some more up-to-date info.

    Thanks!

They've got plenty of 8 deck shoe games that pay 3:2 but they hit on s17.

I learned a new bingo word for Words with Friends! Thanks Carve! Unfortunately I didn't make a good scan of tables there, blackjack really isn't my bag. :(

Reading other threads though, I got the general impression it was mostly general complaining about Cosmo, and not about specific downgrades at your level, hopefully. What you saw last trip is bad enough it sounds like.

your info is up to date. I was there early feb.

the talon room, game is usually 300 min
high limit room on main floor has what you describe.

I also play the 6 deck, stay s17. Often the sign says 200 min, but the pit always let me play 100 (but they don't drop the sign)

of note, they do not hand shuffle, the use a machine for the shuffler, and can swap out a new "shoe" instantly.

they allow 1 reshuffle by the "pit" otherwise I just color, and do a lap around the floor. bad thing is, they place the cards in the shoe with a "house" cut if you are not around.

cosmo promo chips I recommend using them for doubles and splits only. at least you have a higher chance of swapping them for real chips.

    and good luck.

Do you recommend this on any casinos promo chips? I have some promo chips for a local casino that I'm hitting up this weekend as I'm heading to see some family. Granted it's only $15:eek: I don't want to hit a blackjack and get paid even money on it. Money is money whether it's a $15 bet or a $150 bet. I want to maximize my value regardless.

Most places will pay you fully on a blackjack if you're using a promo chip or coupon. But you should ask; I've heard of some that only give you even money (cheap bastads).

FYI, I played with Cosmo promo chips this past weekend and hit a blackjack. They paid 3 to 2 on that one.

And FWIW, the high limit conditions are still the same as listed above. $200 in the high limit (shoe game, S17) and $300 in the talon room. I can't recall for certain, but I think the talon room limit may have increased to $500 late Friday night. Regardless, it was dead as always. I played around six hours at the shoe game in the talon room on Saturday and except for one guy that played with me for about twenty minutes, the day shift dealer told me I was the only player they had all day. There were a couple players at the double deck game right next to me, but that table was dead most of the day as well.

For your case I'm not sure on the type of promo chip u are getting.

Cosmo ones are one time use.
Example. 25 promo chip wins, they take the promo and just give u one 25 chip back

For Black jack at Cosmo on a promo chip, they will take the 25 promo and u get 37.50 in regular chips

Some other Places that have full play promos that u can use as regular chips, since they don't take them if u win.
Example. 25 promo chip wins, the promo is still in the betting circle and they pay u with a regular chip. Bro u can "bet" the same promo again
