DH and I are planning a trip back to LV in January 2015...looking to stay somewhere "new" for us..and we've narrowed it down to either the Bellagio or Caesars..

With either hotel we would not be looking to book a suite or anything fancy, we just want a basic room but we would try the $20 at check in to see what we got!

We thought we'd get some feedback from others to see what they liked/disliked with either place..

    Thanks!

LOL! I was just doing a comparison of category by category and lost my post. Basically, Bellagio wins every time.

    What they said.

I'm sure there's probably a category CP might win, but I can't think of it.

For Gaggles Bday trip in May I've actually got Caesars & Bellagio both booked. For quite a few trips in 2011-2012 I stayed at a combo of Caesars & Bellagio.

For years I was a hands down Bellagio fan, but Caesars large rooms in Palace, Augustus, and Octavious towers grew on me as did the pool scene.

From a gambling perspective Caesars is a total wasteland for me. I'll barely play there even if I'm staying, and I won't eat anywhere there, but the rooms and the pool do work for me. I actually prefer the Bellagio restaurants, gambling, and I like that pool also. The base (deluxe--lol) rooms at Bellagio however seem small to me in comparison.

This upcoming trip we are actually double booked but will take up residence at Ceasars as everyone seems to be staying there. The Bellagio room is just for "dead hooker storage" and I guess if they gave us some shit older room at Caesars we would stay at The B.

Among all the other reasons, remember the free monorail that can take you from Bellagio to points south. Ceasars to me just seems to be on an island with walking (A lot of walking) the only alternative to get off.

I am leaning more towards Bellagio - and we'll be celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary so Im hoping with a $20, a nice smile and a mention of our special day, we might get an upgrade..

    :evillaugh

We've played and eaten at both places, and Caesers seems HUGE to me, and I have a horrible sense of directions - I even get lost in the Paris..:rolleyes2:

so I normally just hang on to DH's arm and we walk around and I just point to what slots I want to play at and he makes sure we can always find out way out!!

Does anyone know when the MLife rates for January 2015 come out? Right now the Bellagio doesnt have anything past December...I can now get the MGM for $33/night, but that wasnt quite what I had in mind!!

    THANKS again!

The only thing I think I can give Caesars the nod on is shopping/restaurants. I only say restaurants, because of outside of the high end options at Bellagio, there are no mid to low range options. It should be noted that I'm including Forum Shoppes in the Caesars complex even though it's a separate entity.

I actually like Caesars even though their casino sucks compared to the rest of their property. However, the problem with Caesars is, and always has been, that they think way too highly of their property and price it accordingly. If you're paying out of pocket, what Caesars is going to want for their rooms simply isn't worth it. I've stayed there twice, both on comps, once in a Jr. Executive Suite in the Forum Tower and once in a fountain view Augustus. Both rooms were nice, and I would stay in either again on a comp. However, if I was paying rack rate for those rooms, I'm sure that I would find the B to be a much better value, and quite frankly as much as Caesars overvalues their rooms, the B is probably cheaper.

It's unbelievable how many times I've seen Caesars pricing their Forum/Roman tower rooms at double or even triple what the Wynn/Aria/Bellagio have their rooms at...

and THIS is exactly why I even started considering the Bellagio - I can find prices mid-December and they're like $169/night...and there is a MyVegas reward for 25% off - and that brings it down even more reasonable..

where I never ever get offers from Caesars and the rates are right at $200/night for me...

and I know that we'll eat a few meals at the Bellagio anyway - I'll get the MyVegas rewards for both the dinner and the breakfast/lunch....

and we've always gone into the B to gamble anyway...

so why not just stay there, right??

can January get here any faster?? :rolleyes2:

I would lean towards Bellagio as well.

Now, tell us where you have stayed and played before. Likes, dislikes.

We have stayed at the NYNY for our first trip and we realized that we really should have stayed mid-strip...

then the Paris and then Ballys..

we only go every couple of years, and we do enjoy some nicer dinners - we've eaten at Gordon Ramsay's, Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Crab, Bellagio buffet and Bacchanal Buffet 9at least they're "nicer" to us....:licklips:

We usually do breakfast and dinner - we really like Mon Ami and people watching in the morning - and seeing the folks still drunk, trying to get home is a blast...

We do not have a big gambling budget - we stick to slots and just play whatever machine catches our fancy - even though I do love some of the popular ones..

We like going to Vegas as a total get away from the kids, and also go to Hoover Dam and DH has even done the driving experience at the race track..

So, its not just a gambling trip for us, its really a "get away from life" for 5 night and 5 days!!

I wouldnt use the spa - I do massages and whatnot at home, so that's not a pull for me..

and DH wouldnt golf either so that's not a must do..

I agree with you about the shopping. All the shops at Bellagio are high end. But I disagree about the food options. I think Bellagio includes lots of non-high end options: Café Bellagio, Snacks, Noodles, Fix, and Palio all immediately spring to mind

There is still many more options and a larger variety in Caesars/Forum Shoppes. Cheesecake Factory, Palms, PH, Joe's, Munchbar, Food court, Serendipity, Carmine's, etc. The restaurant options may be a bit closer, but the nod still goes to Caesars IMO.

Even though we will probably book a room at the Bellagio, we won't just limit ourselves to eating there - we have a tradition of eating at Joe's on the first night, and I wouldnt skip it for the world - the best crab claws!!

and I was hoping someone could give me some input on Cafe Bellagio - since we usually like to start our morning with a nice breakfast we were pondering that...and then we skip lunch and wait for dinner..

I've always had good meals at CB, although I haven't had breakfast there, only lunch/dinner. Much like Society Café at Wynn, the ambience at CB is a lot higher than most other casino Cafes. More to the ambience of a mid range restaurant than a cheap diner.
