Bottle service

Hey guys, right a total newbie question here. Im going to vegas in 3weeks time for the first time and planning at least 1 big club night out. Ive been trawling the forum for weeks now and kind of get the bottle service thing but need some help with it. For example lets just say i set up a $500 minimum what charges are actually included on this? I understand a bottle of vodka will easily cost that so what about mixers for the vodka do i pay extra for these? Also if one of my group wanted to drink beer how much extra would this be? Again like i said just a bit confused so appreciate your answers on this. Oh also when and how is the bill settled?

Mixers are included except red bull. You also pay for water. You can order a beer but not sure how much it will cost and it will go towards your table min.

 

at most of the big clubs they will charge about 38% extra for taxes, and auto gratuity. Say the bottle is $550 your total would be $759, plus you should tip the host, the runner, and security as well.

 

BlackEight is correct if a host is telling you $500 min add 30%

Juice / Soda mixer will be free and endless

Some tips for you ( I get table service 2 times a week back home and very active in the nightclub scene, my family is investors)

1st thing you need to do when contacting a host is advise how many will be in your party, more girls less guys will work in your favor

Price and bottles
Once you get a set amount of people ask your host what the minimum will be for your party, lets say Host says $500, some clubs will say $500 or 2 bottles. I would ask the host do you have any buy 2 get 1 free options for me. some times you can spend 600 and get 3 bottles instead of 500 and 2 bottles

Location
Key thing most people overlook is table location, all the clubs in Vegas have tons of tables, however the majority of them aren't in a location you would want to be in other words could be lack of action, not near dance floor or DJ. You want to ask your host what section or location the table is, rule of thumb bigger the dj that night and closer you are to him the more you will pay its that easy.

Payment.
In my younger not so baller or comp table days when my friends and I would get a table we would all split the price. COLLLECT THE MONEY UP FRONT BEFORE YOU EVEN LEAVE THE HOTEL BEFORE DINNER I REPEAT COLLECT THE MONEY UP FRONT COLLECT THE MONEY UP FRONT, if your splitting the table with your group. One person will have to provided a ID and Credit card/ATM to put on file, when its time to pay your tab just pull out the collected cash and pay (Or use CC).

Cocktail servers
You will have one assigned to you some times they just work just your table other times they have more then 1 table, when your 1st bottle comes out she will start making drinks for your group these will be very heavy handed drinks after all she wants the bottle empty ASAP so you can order another one, I some times say no thanks and pour my own drink after she leaves. NOW some clubs will ask you to buy another bottle when your last one is empty I have seen this happen to someone on a busy night, they were done with the last bottle at 1230 and the club wanted to sell the table to another incoming group. Drink slow if your going to stay at your quoted price. ANOTHER THING make sure before you order bottles with the Cocktail server she is aware of the agreement between you and the host your working with. Show her a text or email (that is if the host is not in the club with you) the cocktail server most times doesn't have any idea what your deal is make sure she does.


Small sneak tips
You may have a security guard near by or one assigned to your table when you have to go to the bathroom tip him 40-60 and ask him to escort you to the bathroom, you won't wait in line and will move fast threw the club, the best part it gets the ladies attention really quick.

Bottle Rats
You will have girls wanting to join your table beware and accept at your own risk 9 times out of 10 they just want you to pour them a drink and before you know it you have a table full of chicks drinking your booze, 5 mins later they will be gone.

Forgot your beer question
its going to be the same base price as the bar HOWEVER

Have your friends get the beer at the bar getting it at a table costs more, remember the 30percent roughly in fees that comes from the total price which your beer will drive up, waters also go to the bar almost all clubs will give you a free glass of water

 

I would tip the host 10percent of the quoted BASE price he gave you, thank him he will remember and will be glad to take care of you again (Probably with a better deal)

 

I wouldn't tip the club host 10% on a big bill. If the bill is under 1k, then it is okay. If you bill is 3k or more, I would not give them 10% unless you plan to come back to the club and use the host.

You are already paying 20% auto grat and tax (around 10%, I think).

Remember if you want a good table and not one in a back corner under the stairs you must take good care of your host and do it upfront when you get there not at the end of the night because he may not get back to see you much but if you tip him upfront he will be back to make sure you're doing well.

This is consider the "handshake" you'll find on more nightlife forums like Jack Colton. At the Wynn's clubs I tip a minimum of $200 to the host for being timely, walking past line and getting me a good table whether that's near the dance floor or out by the water, depending on preference. Plus I've built a good relationship with a host there that always goes out of his way to accommodate me so that tip is well worth that relationship and sometimes comes back in forms of specials or a comp bottle.

 

Your around 28% tax and tips. At the top tier clubs I would say that if you get prompt service and a good table I would do $200 or so. Lower tier places $100.

Most clubs don't charge for soda and juice mixers. Redbull is and extra.charge and typically $10. Buying beers on the table tab is ok, but I would say not worth it.

They will ask for your credit card as soon as you walk in. They will authorize your card for your minimums plus estimated tax and tips.

 

You are correct. Imo, 50-100 tip to the host/promoter is enough. But if he/she gives you an awesome deal, then 150 is great. 50-75 for security is also more than enough if needed.

 

Agreed. If you are already spending thousands on bottles that cost hundreds, why tip the host 10% (5k bill is 500 plus all the other stuff)? I would tip $100-200, depending on the bill. If it's a third party promoter, then I would tip much more. He/she makes enough. Do you tip your doctor, dentist, lawyer, broker, banker, etc.?

If you plan to come back to the club then I would tip the club host well. Clubs depend on people leaving and going, especially if you are doing bottle service. Most people can't do bottle service every weekend, only a few times a year or special occasions.

People who work service jobs (CW, busboy, etc.) deserve tip. I always take care of them. I once worked a service job back in the day and it was miserable. People who treat other people poorly based on their employment status are just wrong, at least IMO. Those who have "good" jobs are not living off of tips. Tips are a bonus. Their salary is enough.

 

Bingo! My friend and i got invited on friday during superbowl weekend from a guy at bellagio who had a 10k min to see ZEDD at XS on the dancefloor. It was an awesome table but is he supposed to tip his host 1k to 1500 just for setting it up? No way in hell.

I have a lot of friends who live/work in vegas, and that is not the norm. If they are making those kind of tips, i would know. I believe you have it right, just take care of who takes care of you. But at 10-15%, thats ridiculous.

 

When I have gone in to go to my table, it has never been a problem to just pay in cash upfront without a credit card. The host would just tell me to pretend and I would just pay the bill as I go. But I believe they need to "know" you.

 

You have some great points. But instead of bottle rats, I call them leaches lol.

 

Also remember, you take care of your host before you go into the club. They have an idea of how much you are/have to spend but you will most likely add on between extra bottles, shots, water, etc.

They are actually fighting for you just like a casino host believe it or not. Between the better tables, sections, where you want to sit, how much you are spending, etc.

They also have to have a valid reason why you want a certain table or why they gave you that table. It all comes down to what you are willing to spend.

Others know a lot more than me about the club scene. But part of bottle service is free mixers with your bottle. A beer might be $20. You are paying for bottle service--use it, and drink beer at home.

 

Couple of things we do in our group:

As 33 said...Get the cash up front before you go to the club!!! We always have our all in number before we text the promoter and go from there.

We always tell the promoter when we set up the night via text or phone what our tip is for him when we arrive. More money = better location.

Friday and Saturdays are prime time. Prime time = Prime $$$. Tier 1 clubs have higher minimums than tier 2 clubs which will dictate where you will be able to go and be seated. Bigger the group = the bigger the $$$ commit to accomodate.

Our rule of thumb is 3 guys per bottle. So with our 5 it's a 2 bottle minimum. Now let's add you want to bring the ladies back to the table = alcohol out of your bottle which may = more alcohol needed.

We don't do 3rd party hosts. The Jack Colton sight has a list of all the hosts for each club and reviews from people who have used them in the past. Hasn't failed us yet.
