I see more guys with backpacks and, of course, ladies with purse/backpack. What's a MUST to include in your bag? I often take solo trips and have begun to rethink what I need to carry. I'm not a a big "purse" gal, I prefer small sling or cross body bag. I try to carry bare minimum. I'm particularly interested in Vegas/casino packing but, all tips are welcome!!!

Are you talking your purse while you're out and about in Vegas or your actual luggage for your trip to Vegas?

I am always wishing I had a camera with me and a place to put my sunglasses!

I always have a small backpack while in Las Vegas. I carry a couple waters, my camera, and usually stuff the small crap wifey buys in to it until we get back to the room. My traveling bag has our tickets, magazines, medications, camera, and a pad and paper. :peace:

I carry a backpack on, and pack my clothes with my wifes in a suitcase. In my backpack is snacks for plane and room, ipad, sunglasses, usually LVA casino guide, a few magazines for plane ride, also I photocopy my debit/credit card and Drivers License front and back in case of it getting lost or stolen. At least with that you should be able to get back on the plane going home!

Same thing each time. In my tote I have my "Vegas" purse, which is a small cross body bag, my liquids, my iPad and 2 trashy magazines.

I always carry a small crossbody purse. Always lipgloss, phone, small wallet, pen, eyedrops (contact lens wearer), hand sanitizer. My bag is small, I like it like that. While out an about in Vegas I NEVER take it off. Last trip for the first time in 8 trips someone attempted to pull it off in a crowd at a crosswalk. Of course, it did not budge.

Well, for the trip, if Im checking a bag, Ill have my makeup/deodorant change of shoes & a top in my carry on bag, just in case I don't get my luggage!

In Vegas, I hate carrying around my big purse but its nice to have the things in it. And to have room if I buy something during the day. I like to have waters/snacks, my phone, all my Vegas print outs for deals I have or show tickets Ill need. lotion, CHAPSTICK....my lips get so dry in Vegas, I had to go buy some last year, way over priced, but I needed it, badly! I just bought a new big bag for Vegas, then I realized how much I hate carrying around purses in Vegas! Its really only a pain when I decide to play craps. I hate keeping an eye on in the whole time, so I tend to stay away from craps til Im at my "home" casino.

If I could get away with using a fanny pack, I would. lol

With the new phones, the camera is no longer with us.

I also wear glasses, so dealing with both is a major hassle. I lost a pair of regular glasses because of this on a recent visit. It was somewhere between Mandalay Bay and Aria. Too much territory to really think I would find them again. Luckily I only need them to read and had an extra pair back at the hotel.

Only 2 possible things require me to bring a backpack.

    1) Laptop if for some reason I think there is a chance I'll need it for work
    2) DSLR Camera if I decide to take it

Beyond that I can fit my money, phone, 7in tablet in my pockets and that is all I need for the flight there.

Now if you are talking about a backpack that someone carries around during the day. I never do this unless I'm hiking.

My Vegas trips are 3/4 days so I don't have to carry much. Plus I am a very light packer. I have a mid-size North Face backpacking bag with draw string closure so it is a great.

    Five pair of socks
    Five pair of underwear
    Three t-shirts/Three workout t-shirts
One pair of jeans/One pair of pants/One pair Track pants
    Dress boots/Sneakers
    One dress shirt
My Nexus 7/MP3 Player and headphones
    Toiletries
    Digital Camera
Sunglasses if it is during the hot season

    Sorry I wasn't clear!

I was referring to your "daily" bag (purse/backpack). Sorry! :peace:

Great reason to carry a crossbody!!

THIS is sorta why I posted. I'm trying to determine if I should carry pepper spray or something similar.

i wear a cross shoulder bag or one on my back instead of a purse, i hate carrying those, my shoulders get sore.

Phone (if in canada), camera (i like to use both for pictures), chapstick always, wallet, keys, hand sanitizer, water and any printouts i need.

Meh, I don't see the problem with using a fanny pack/hip pack if one wants and its convenient.

I wear a small thin one while in Vegas, probably not even noticeable since I don't tuck my shirts in and they hang over it. I would rather wear that than have to carry a jacket or a bag to hold my stuff in.

Out and about in Las Vegas during the day I'll use it to carry: phone, ear buds, camera, nitro spray, medication, coin purse, cigarettes.

I could probably fit all that stuff in my pockets but then I'd probably crush the cigarettes and with my wallet and all that stuff crammed in there it would probably look like I was wearing a pair of saddle bags or something.

I wear jeans that have 2 pockets in the front and 2 in the back. 1 is for chapstick, 1 is for phone, and 1 is for the wallet. The fourth is reserved for that huge jackpot I never win.

In my purse, the essentials are a wallet, small container for players's cards, little makeup bag (comb, lipstick, Tylenol, eye drops, band aids, etc), very small bottle of water, small bag with a snack for blood sugar drop (it hits fast), sunglasses, phone. All those are essentials, so a purse is required. Forgot, also a little notebook and pen to track play.

You have me thinking about a fanny pack. My purse is cross body.

FloridaVegas, scary stuff having an attempted purse snatching right on the street.

I've been contemplating what to bring for my upcoming trip... I have a small clutch or what ever you want to call it, that has a wrist strap that can hold my phone, money, cards, hair ties, chapstick, etc. in it. That would be enough for just walking around/gambling whatever. But now that you guys mention it, I kind of want a small backpack. I guess we'll just have to see.

On my last trip I brought a small cross body bag but it was such a pain in the ass. Maybe it was just too small but it was more hassle than good. Not doing that again! But if I bring a backpack I'll just be paranoid of actually having it on my back.. Ugh, Vegas problems!
