Far be it from me to patronize a silly pool party amongst hordes of twenty-somethings maxing out their credit cards, standing shoulder-to-shoulder in waist-deep water trying to convince themselves that they've "arrived."

What a huge, huge ego trip for Giada De Laurentiis. They might as well have named the place "Giada" and been done with it. And Karie Hall as GM? Basically, the place will be run by a couple of little rich b*tches. How exciting.

The gaming space in the Cromwell will be reduced as well.
Funny thing if CET launches this in time, it will be a real punch to the balls of SLS.

I think CET sees they have a limited window to capitalize.

Now for me the Cromwell does not mean much, outside of the boutique experience. So if CET were to comp me there in off summer months I might stay there.

The Flamingo rooms that will have a view of the Cromwell topless area though will be the rooms that drive the most revenue I think.

Finally CET will be able to compete with MGM Wet Republic, Encore Beach, and Hard Rock Rehab.

Thankfully, far be it from you. No one wants to hang out with someone with such a bad attitude. Sounds like if people like you stay away from the Cromwell, it will do quite well and it will be a fun place to be.

    Should be interesting.

I will give CET credit for changing things up a bit. Variety will get them customers. Probably not me, but that is okay.

It does look cool. But, its more "luxury" $#!t that I can't afford and have little to no interest in. I guess I wouldn't care as much if the center strip hadn't lost an affordable fun place in Bill's/Barbary at the expense of this.

Yeah, affordable varies by peoples opinion. But I hear what you are saying, the lower cost joints are being pushed out to the edges of the strip. Me personally I would never pay over a $100 per night for a room unless I was getting a suite. I have gotten to use to the room comp in Vegas. I guess that is the only reason I am still loyal to CET when I go to Vegas.

Basically you have The Riv, Circus Circus, and Strat to the North. On the south end you have maybe the Trop and Excalibur on a weekday. But those resort fees push over what I consider the low end price.

I think anything in the 45 to 60 dollar range on the strip is a good deal for a weekday. The resort fees lower the value prop.

Still a lot of people are willing to spend money for an experience this place is offering. Having been around the US myself and in my 40's I am looking for a different experience these days.

We just 5 minutes ago got an email from CET about the Cromwell. Glad it is opening, sad that they had to kill a nice place to do it. I'll never set foot in the place except maybe Giada's place, just to say I ate there. But the more they draw "that sort" away from where I am the better.

I liked Bills as well and the Cromwell will probably never see me, but I don't understand people that think this is horrible. Bills and O'Shea's were the equivalent of trailer parks sitting next to multimillion dollar homes. You know those multimillionaires are going to buy them out and destroy them as soon as they can. If CET props are too expensive, you still have north strip, far south strip, off strip, and downtown.

Exactly. A lot of people, including myself, want to stay cheaply in the multimillion dollar home and play in the trailer park. And it isn't necessarily fair. I'm ok with the change even though I probably won't patronize it.

And I don't like the name. They should have named it Drai's.

I know we can start booking rooms on 2/21 for TR and 2/24 for general public... but when will they actually start having people stay there? I'm assuming on 2/24 I couldn't book a room for 2/24 if I even wanted to stay here. But when does the actual hotel open?

I agree. I am probably going to spend a fair amount of time at casino royale my next trip. I also plan on giving Palms or Gold Coast some play too. I used to spend a lot of time at O'Shea's and bills. I expect Casino Royale to be the next one to be pushed out.

I don't see any reason to be excited about Giada's restaurant. It's pretty much her first one since her background is as a personal chef. If it weren't for her cleavage, would she even have caught on as a TV chef?

As for the name, I don't mind it. There's something kind of funky about it. It does evoke a dungeon feeling though and it probably would be more interesting if they could've capitalized on it.

I'm not in the target demographic but I don't understand some of the bitterness. I guess some people just don't age well and resent the "twenty-somethings" and their "maxed out credit cards". Life is too short to get worked up over stuff like that. I'm sure a lot of people are going to have a lot of fun there. Good for them.

Agreed. Comments like "the more they draw "that sort" away from where I am the better" are really off-putting, and almost sound like something that would have been said in the 1960's. It is sad.

Just like my girl Honey Boo Boo says, "haters gonna hate". That's what they do... I'm thankful for investment CET has made there and look forward to checkin' out the whole area soon.
