Each car is supposed to hold ~45 people.

Scheduled for a March opening. It's something I will probably do once. Who knows, maybe it's cooler than I think it will be.

All the pics I see of this the pods look all cocked eyed. Is this cause there's no people in them to balance it out?

Anyone know if this is bigger or smaller than the "eye" in London? I plan on taking a ride in May if the price is reasonable.

Just curious Sam, what would you define as reasonable, cost-wise?

Me, I'm thinking $20-25 for one revolution and 30ish minutes.

    You?

    Linq Wheel

The view should be incredible, not just for the strip but the entire LV valley. Driving from Boulder Hwy down Flamingo Rd back to the strip, you could visually see the wheel just as you past the ramps to the 515. Worked out to exactly 5 miles according to my odometer, from where I could first see it to when I reached " Ling Drive " at Flamingo Rd.

We asked the cab driver about it on the way back to the airport ( last week ).
He heard opening sometime in March, each car holds about 40 people, and that you are standing not sitting. Ride time approx. an hour, cost around $30 per person. Again cabbie just heard this but couldn't confirm.

Ya Joe, I would consider $30 to $40 per person reasonable. Definitely I plan on doing this in May but right now can't decide between a day ride or the night one... Maybe both?... Better hit some jackpots to pay for them. Lol

Yeah it is... when you compare the top of the wheel to the surrounding buildings, you REALLY get a feel for the size of this thing!

Took this around xmas, from the 3rd floor of the quad parking ramp. MASSIVE! Would love to get a group of fun people in one of the pods and have a 40 minute party.

I can't imagine stepping foot in this thing...lots will of course but it won't be me. I'd feel trapped. And what happens if you get a bunch of drunks or obnoxious A holes in your pod? How long before people are just pissing on the floor because they have been drinking all day...or puking because they drank too much?

I too am curious about how they are going to handle the logistics. Loading each pod will take time. Does the wheel stop every pod, or is there some way of loading/unloading that is in motion? How are they going to handle the fights and the puke? Not to mention the lure of joining the 168 meter club, no matter how many witnesses you had.

Going to in Vegas on March 5th and I for one hope this thing is ready to roll because I'll be going up. Think of the fighting and fornicating as in-pod entertainment. The view is going to be brilliant. :peace:

I cant imagine standing for an hour in this thing! I would be more than happy to pay 20-25$ for a ride, but an hour? Heck, half that you would be only half way up or halfway down right? What happens then, you just stand and wait and get annoyed by people next to you who are complaining that they spent $50 to look at the back of the Flamingo for a half hour! Sounds like to me they need to drop the price a little and speed it up a bit! Maybe I am totally wrong, but dont see myself going in it until things change a bit!

We have been on the London wheel. It does not stop. Part of the reason for the speed is that people can load and unload without stopping the wheel.

Found a video on youtube showing it, but I give up trying to do youtube links here.
