    Just got back from a Vegas trip this weekend and while I was there I won in a video poker tournament at Planet Hollywood. Placed high enough to win $1,500 freeplay. The event ended yesterday morning and since our flight didn't leave until early evening that day I figured all was good.

    Here's the issue. They wouldn't release the prizes until 7:00 last night. By that time I was laready on a flight home. When I talked to Total Rewards they said I could pick it up at any TR cage. Called my local Caesar's property and they say the vouchers are only available in Vegas. The host I dealt with in the past hasn't responded to my email and Caesars will void the vouchers if not picked up by 11:59 tonight.

    What are the chances of a different host picking them up for me and sending them or keeping them til my next trip?

    My husband had the same situation a couple of years ago at Flamingo. He could not collect because he was not present (we also were on a plane home). We contacted everyone from host to TR to higher ups. No dice. He lost that money. We will never again play in a tourney if we won't be there to collect. Left a bad taste in my mouth.

    Go ahead and try, but I would bet more than even money you will not get it.

    Sucks, but the whole idea of tournaments, and prizes is to get people to gamble in their casino - NOW.

    I have passed on many tournaments due to time schedule.

    Sorry.

    Very unlikely you will get it. The tournaments are structured that way for a reason.

    Catch another flight back! Run the FP through a machine, cash the wins and leave and never return.

    For $1500... I would have changed my flight. The change fee is much less than $1500.

    Some of the airlines charge a $200 change fee, plus and change in the flight cost.

    I have seen $1,500 freeplay disappear in a heartbeat.

    I remember one trip when I was ready for bed at 10:30 after a LONG day playing. But, I had a $500 freeplay coupon good after midnight. So, I kept playing. Net result? By 12:15 I was down $700 since 10:30.

    I would have changed flights only if the freeplay was of the "play till you lose" variety.

    Edit: nah....any excuse to stay in vegas an extra night is a good excuse...lol

    Sorry to hear that they are so strict. I have played in several CET slot tournaments in Vegas and I think the rules are clearly stated, but it would be nice if they could ease up on this rule and maybe allow you 1-2 months to pick up your FP.

    Related question:
    Once you have your FP in hand, doesn't CET allow you some period of time to use it? Has anyone won FP, but did not have time to play it before you left & FP expired before you returned on next trip? Just wondering if your host can authorize replacement of expired FP that you won, upon your return months later.

    You MIGHT have time to use that freeplay, but I would ALWAYS use it on the current trip. Nothing would suck more than:

    * not making another trip for some unforeseen reason
    * unable to find the ticket
    * date expired
    * casino closed down

    Okay, the last one is far fetched, but the others are real.

    Your host should have collected it for you....at Mlife I have had this happen and my host just has the Mlife desk load the free play on my account.

    Problem is, OP never had it in his hand. He was required to stick around until 7pm to get it, but he didn't.

    my question is since the winners werent posted till around 7 pm how do you know what you won. you can figure where you might fall but if its a 3 series tourney and you have to add all your scores up then theres no way to know who won till its officaly posted.

    at a bj tourney you know where you stand as if you are playing the finals so its easy to figure out slots not so much
