Just got back from Vegas yesterday. While eating dinner Monday night I got word that they were filming a Vegas episode of Modern Family at Mandalay Bay.

I headed down there and the first thing I noticed was a security guard keeping watch over a bunch of film equipment.

Walked around the casino and ran into this mess:

Walked to the other side of that closed off blackjack pit and was told to keep moving by this poor guy: (like I was gonna listen to him!)

And there she was, Julie Bowen talking to an assistant in between rehearsals for a scene where she approaches Jesse Tyler Ferguson while he is playing blackjack and he quickly shushes her away.

Fred Armisen is a guest star in this episode, he was playing blackjack as well in this scene.

Jesse's character didn't seem to know how to play, and seemed to be relying on the dealer for help in the scene.

They shot many many takes of the scene. I left after a while. I heard that afterwards they shot a scene with Julie Bowen playing craps.

I was surprised by how lax security was. We were all very close to them snapping pics the whole time. We were only told to move by one nice production assistant. He said we could watch, but we had to move over a bit because we were in the background of the shot.

Sofia Vergara was there shooting scenes earlier in the day, but I didn't get to see her. This is someone else's pic:

It was kinda neat watching them film, and I'm all for special Vegas episodes of anything.

Nice, I love that show. I would of ran over any security guys if they tried to stop me from motor boating Vergara.

    Very Cool! and News Worthy!

Wish I would have been there to see that. I did bump into George Lucas on Royal Street in New Orleans last year, and talked to him for like 20 seconds.

Yep, she's the blonde "hottie" on Happy Gilmore, but what's most amazing IMHO is how she's even HOTTER now some 20 years later!!!!:nworthy:

Im suprised he talked to you...I have a good friend who works as a moderator for Sony Online Entertainment's game Star Wars: Galaxies. He said he went to a Sony event where Lucas was present and they were told not to approach Mr. Lucas or look at his table. wow....:nono:

Its awesome to see special stuff like this in Vegas. They were filming the Hangover 3 parachute scene outside of the Plaza the weekend of my wedding. They had the street all shut down for 2 days. I also had a drink at the Fox sports bar in the Vegas airport with hockey player Jeremy Roenick on the same trip.

Also ran into a VERY drunk Fred Willard at the Rio... He was super cool despite me not properly remembering his name. He signed my cocktail napkin.

Yeah it was a strange encounter. I was in new orleans last year browsing with my wife on royal street week before super bowl. We were looking at antique shop window and george walked up. I commented on something to him without even noticing who it was. He started walking away before I fully realized it was him. Would have asked for autograph or photo but figured he didn't like to be bugged. Wife was wearing pretty sex boob shirt showing clevage so maybe george stopped for a glance.

A few years ago at the Rio saw the crew of 'Raising Hope' filming there.Never really heard of or watched the show but did see the episode after it aired several weeks later. One scene was from the center bar and I was playing the other end of it behind a huge lighting stand.
Joking with the bartenders stuck on my end they used an actor in the scene instead of one of them.
