My wife and I returned from a CET hotel 3 nights stay. We play video poker and we totaled 4700 tier credits (3500 for me and 1200 for my wife) and I calculated we had a total loss of $1200 for the stay. In checking out I went in and talked with a the casino host in the Diamond Check out. I asked if there was any additional comps that could be given to cover the food charges we made to our room which was $278 after reductions from using our Reward Credits. After looking at the computer the host stated that no additional comps could be given because the rooms value for the stay was over $600. I thought the level of play we had we could get some additional comps for food. Am I wrong? I would like if someone could explain a formula to calculating additional comps?
1200$ is nothing. there back end comp is a mystery but first they use all your rc then you go to descretionary. you have to pay off your room at 600$ first and i bet they think your play didnt even cover that. cet gives out free rooms basicaly to every one but to get the extras its hard. at mlife its harder to get the room and you have to play more and larger but you get alot more food. also cet has these teir bosters.how many tier bosters verse actual tier ponts did you get
My experience This is my own experience and not based on any other input. It feels like CET changed their back end comping around Nov 2013 when we started receiving free play/resort credit offers. Prior to this, it would usually be just free play offers. Prior to Nov 2013, we would stay one night (always Saturdays) and would usually rack up 700-1000 tier credits, and when asked, the host on duty would usually take $50-$100 of the room bill. BTW, diamond level. Nov 2013, stayed 1 night, 1000 tier credits, and the host on duty (and my own host I contacted afterwards) would not take anything off. Since then, the offers I've received for 2014 so far are lower in value then what I received last year. It seems like CET is tightening both front and back end comping.
If you earned those tier credits without the bonuses, you put $47000 combined through the machines in 3 nights/4 days. Caesars pay tables are weak so let's say theoretical loss is 2% of that or $940. Even if you were getting 40% of theo comped back--near impossible anyway w Caesars unless you have a very good host relationship--that still doesn't quite cover your room. If your TC numbers include bonus credits, you're not even close.
Rewards card The best way to get show, food and merchandise comps is the Total Rewards Visa card . Since I never use checks I run most of my bills and purchases through the card and just pay it off every month to avoid interest. You would be amazed how quickly the comp money stacks up. Never pay for meals and get great deals on shows. Could use it to pay for rooms but rooms are always comp. For the type of comps you are asking about I have found that Stratosphere is about the best for those type of comps. Good luck
The replies have been spot-on. You earned roughly $47 in reward credits (without factoring tier credit bonuses or reward credit bonuses). Your primary comps which aren't accessible until your RC's have been exhausted might be 5x that but they go towards the offer you were brought in on. It's not unusual for the comp value of the room to be $200/nt. The loss amount wasn't large enough to warrant comping you based on your actual loss. You'll probably still have plenty of offers to come back again on a comp basis.
also vegas is consider a top place for cet ,what you might in reno or bumb f idaho you wont get in vegas they dont need to comp out like that.
