what are all the beer bars and microwbrewries on the strip? are there any that are busy like clubs with music and have any girls?

everyone at the big clubs drinks red bull its disgusting like rotten juice with sugar. i see lots of guys drinking cranberry juice like little girls. i want to go to a bar or club where i can hear music and talk to girls and drink with people who dont drink like there in 7th grade.

    thanks

PUB at City Center, Public House at Venetian, Pub at Monte Carlo, Public House at Luxor. I've been to the first two.

They are not places to meet women like a club. But the beer is good.

Casino, you could try The Pub at Monte Carlo. Good beer on tap but they do not brew their own. They do have any choice you can want, including good local brew from brewery Tenaya (sp) Creek. After 9:00 they have dueling pianos that tends to bring in a louder party crew. Another thought, Ri Ra's at Mandalay Bay had an outstanding house band a couple of months ago, they were singing a profane version of Sweet Caroline that was hilarious! I have been by Todd English Pub a couple of times (Crystals). Good beer but not a place to search for wildlife.

    thanks for the suggestions :peace:

i went to the pub at mc before and public house too. i think public house was more quiet then i expected but i like the beer selection at both places. i will try the others. where i live we have some nice microbrewries that are popular with guys and girls around my age and its a better atmsophere to meet people and talk then the nightclubs. they should open that in vegas!

I didn't get a chance to try Michael Mina's Pub1842 at MGM on my last trip out there but it looks like it might be right up your ally. Maybe someone who tried it can chime in here.

During the month of October, the Wicked Vicky tavern at the Riviera has a daily $15 microbrew pitcher special. That's four pints, the 16 oz ones.

    RiRa
    Nine Fine Irishmen
    Zuri

All have good beer selections and not nightclubs but lively bars for sure

Elvis makes a good point. I have had a couple of good beers at Nine Fine and can say that they do have a significant crowd late evenings, especially on weekends. I stayed away this trip due to the construction in front of NYNY but imagine it is still pretty crowded.

Hi sorry if I'm misdirectioning your thread but I'm from Australia and visiting Las Vegas soon. Also curious if there's any other good places to get a beer. And just so I don't embarrass myself what sort of sizes do you use. For example we use pots and schooners.

How come I've never known this amusing fact? :)

It seems that there is no regulation in the US for size of draft beer (in the UK it has to be in units of 1/3 or 1/2 pint - in officially marked glasses) just random numbers of fluid ounces.

An American pint is 16oz (UK = 20oz) but some places seem to have smaller 'pints'.

As someone used to the metric system the fluid ounce system confuses me so I've been known to ask the barman to hold up the different sizes of empty glass to select the suitable size.

Completely agree. We use the metric system as well. Though it's interesting that when ordering spirits we ask for a 7 or 10 which is a 7 or 10 oz glass.

From memory a pot is 10 oz, schooner is 15oz and can order 20oz pints in Irish pubs

Wait so US pints are usually 16oz? I was told on a previous forum to try Todd English pub and try the challenge of drinking a pint in 7 seconds and get for free. I've been drinking 20oz in 7 seconds to see if I could do it

    Good Beer

Two places come to mind. One is the Four Queens. Ask for the beer platter sampler and you will get several small samples of the beer available to pick your favorite from. The other is Main Street Station. Fantastic restaurant and micro-brew with excellent beer. As far as I am concerned the size of the drink is irrelevant as you can drink two just as easy as one.....

Yes but the US fluid ounce is slightly larger than an imperial fluid ounce which you use in the UK. The difference is only about 5% though so it still doesn't make their pints equal. Both systems define a fluid ounce as a fraction of a pint (1/16th in US system and 1/20th in imperial system) both pints are 1/8th of their respective gallons. The problem is the two systems define a gallon differently so they have different sizes.

The metric system is a great standard and has a nice internal logic. But what you're talking about is the imperial system vs the US system, both if which are silly but at least we can blame you Brits for developing it in the first place. :poke:

Even though you guys eventually came to your senses and adopted the metric system for most other measurements, unlike us.
