Are you a fan of Vegas nights?

How would you describe the Vegas nightlife overall?

What are you doing at night and into the wee hours?

What do you look forward to (or what do you actually do) when you go clubbing?

I like to lock in a winner and get to bed by 11pm. if I'm up past midnight, it means I'm chasing.

The main reason I fly to Vegas is to gamble, and I hope each night looks a lot like this:

But in reality, it probably looks more like this:

It's still a blast though!

I'm probably in the minority but hubby and I are in our mid to late thirties and we don't club at all. Our nights are usually for a show and gambling, not too far from or at our home casino. I'm not a fan of the young, drunk, loud and obnoxious college kids that are all too common walking (or stumbling) on the strip late at night.
I much prefer Vegas in the day time!

just go to have good time you will be fine but its a business and they want all your money.

Unfortunately I remember all too well being NOT part of that better mix. Those early days when we'd be rolling with a big crew of guys and not getting into any top lounge no matter how well funded we were. We'd end up at our usual haunts that reluctantly let in all us ugly dudes with horrible game. :evillaugh

thats my point the differnce is in vegas anybody with money can buy your way in .in nyc and la you cant.

thats why people stress about getting into they shouldnt as long as you have money wether you buy a table a grease the doorman your fine or waite an hour or 2 you will get in.

i still go to the vegas clubs all the time but its a totaly difffernt vibe than the coasts.

Me and my lady like partying.

It's as simple as that. We don't drink much unless it's social or partying.

Thanks for chiming in, that is very interesting information and helps explain to someone who doesn't got to clubs, why a lot of the nightclubber's in LV are so obnoxious and sloppy drunk.

Seems like such a shame that they operate that way because it really drives a wedge between that crowd and a lot of the other people that go to Vegas for all the other activities they have....not just gambling either.

Seems like they could still make tons of money and make Vegas a much classier town instead of kids w/ cases of beer on their shoulder walking thru a 5 star hotel and then later puking in the elevator.

But....on the other hand, I guess money/tips/greasing the door man has a long history in Vegas. But.....if you go back enouh years, they still maintained a level of class.....not everyone or just anyone got in. It's almost like the dumbing down of Vegas.

i dont think your in the minority, for your age you are in the majority. i didnt see too many people in there mid to late thirties at hakassan or other clubs. maybe some but not a lot. especially not married people i think. most of us go to meet girls and are in our 20s and not married, thats why it is mostly full of guys. if your married theres nothing there. the music is EDM which is for teens/20s so i dont think you would go for that. i think if you went to that kind of club you would feel out of place. jmho.

I'm 38 but if you saw me you'd think I was late 20s. I still party quite often. I am into the EDM scene from years ago and got back into it lately again so I do enjoy the music and vibe at the top Vegas clubs.
I'm married with 2 kids, just recently sold my business of 15yrs and own a home. I'm not someone trying to relive my youth or pickin up girls or doing Vegas to be touristy. LOL. I'm out there with friends having a good time cause its the music and environment that we enjoy. And since we live in Socal, its just part of the LA routine.
Most of us are late 20s to mid 30s. I guess I'm on the older end of the group.

I personally am not a fan of drunk obnoxious college kids either but in reality, most of the people at the clubs arent like that. If you actually go to these clubs, theres quite a decent group that are in their 30s and even 40s. Of course majority are in their 20s in there but really they are mostly after college age.
    I would say 25-30 make up 50%. 21-24 25% and 30 and up 25%

The misconception of people that dont normally go to these clubs think that its mainly college kids. College age is 18-24. You have to be 21+ over of course to get in. On top of that, its expensive to go to these clubs. So to break it down, who can actually afford to buy tables/bottles at these top clubs. Not college kids. Its us who are professionals and have decent income that can drop big $ at these places.

If you look at the people at the tables, they are actually not that young. I've hung out and met random people at clubs with tables. Some were musicians/entertainment biz(behind the scenes) and random professionals.
I've seen a group of older Japanese couples in their 40s/50s. Couple Groups like who you would see at Real Housewives of so and so.. who are in their 40s. LOL.
Group of foreigners in their 30s/40s. I've met lawyers, doctors, people in finance. Those are the people that make up the big money spenders.

What you have to look at is who is possibly paying for the tables. Yes there might be a group of 20y/o women in there. LOL but somewhere on that table is some older guys.. not college guys... paying for the table.

The whole greasing thing in Vegas I think is dumb. LOL. I believe its because its been spread around that thats how you can get in the clubs faster and easier. I feel thats for the newbie Vegas or tourist who rarely goes to Vegas. If you know much about Vegas clubs, there are other ways to not have to grease and get in with no problem.

    1. Presale tickets are very common in the top clubs in Vegas. Its basically buying online your ticket and not having to stay in those General admission lines. 90% of the time the line for Presale is only 5min long, if anything 15min on a typical weekend night.
If you see those huge lines going into a club, those are gen admission and they always hold those up and let the presale go in first. Presale lines are usually separate lines. At Marquee its on a different floor and the line for me has never been more than 20 people long. Even it was longer, it goes quick.
Presale tickets are also available up until it is SOLD OUT early on big DJs or holiday weekends or around 6pm of that same day.

    2. Guestlists. If you can find a promoter to contact in advance, you can text them and they can get you on a guestlist. Usually it has to be a 1/1 ratio for a guy to get on a guestlist. Women will most often be free, and at some clubs the guys can get in free too with the even ratio on slower nights, but dont count on it since Vegas is usually always pretty busy. They will get the women in free and the guy will either pay the cover or discounted cover price.
Guy groups will hardly ever get in guestlists unless the promoter knows you well. I've usually been given comp entry for 2-3 guys even without the ratio. But you'd have to get to know these contacts for awhile to get those perks I guess.
Also, Guestlists have a cut off time of 10:30 or 11pm, sometimes 11:30-12 on slower nights.

    3. Women. Like I said, 99% are FREE to get in if you get on a guestlist. LOL. There are very rare occasions when the venue is guaranteed SOLD OUT and those are when they hold up the guestlist line and they prioritize on the presale tix and table buyers.

I do keep on hearing and know how people grease $20-$100 to even $200 to get past the doorman plus they still have to pay the Cover charge. I think its stupid. LOL. I know of people that have done that and if they just stood in Gen admission line for an hour, they could have gotten in within 1hr. Vegas DJs headliners dont even come on until 1am anyway. So at midnight, its barely getting started on most nights. So if you're in a situation where you didnt get presale and you're in line at 10:30, you'll get in fine when things just are getting started. Most nights the lines move in pretty quick anyway.
They just hold up the line before 10pm so they start filling up the club right before 11 and so people dont get in free on the guestlist. haha. If you ever have gone in a club before 11, its pretty much dead anyway. The only good thing is thats when most of the women groups on the guestlist come in first and the ratio of women to men is higher earlier in the night.

I enjoy going to a bar for three or four drinks, then I want to go gamble. I have never done the big club and maybe it would be great fun. But when I go to Vegas I want to gamble.

Most people that gamble non stop end up losing.. You need a diversion from that whatever it may be.. "The House always wins" unless you are a card counter or something like that. Casinos make a lot of money from Clubs and restaurants, so one way or another they will get your $
