We have a ritual for vacations.

She loves Cruises, and she is OK with Vegas
I Love Vegas, and I am OK with Cruises.

WIN WIN, for we have to alternate each time! :nworthy:

    Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

    You know the drill.

    One Cruise, One Vegas, Repeat.

She loves the cruises for it is a structured environment and times. Be here for Dinner at this time, shows at this time. Little need to walk about, and loves the Casino
    3 Card Poker. LOVES EXCURSIONS.

Me, Love the open ended of it all that Vegas offers.

She loves 3 Card Poker, Vegas or ships. I love VP and some slots. And on ships, the VP SUCKS, along with the slots.

Only in Vegas do I feel like I get a good shot at VP and Slots, compared to Ships.

Every Night, I play one $100 buy in for 3 Card to spend some time together.
She will buy in for $20 for a VP bar session with me the same night to do the same + one $20 slot session, so all is good!

    No wrong or right here.

Just wondering if there any other couples just do Vegas and Cruise vacations?

It is all we do, and all we love to do! :drunk:

I bring this up, for today, getting my haircut, one of the customers says that is what they do. Just wondering how many CLONES of us are out there? :peace:

We do the exact same thing except we substitute the cruise for another trip to Vegas. What can I say, we're addicted to Vegas.

It's always Vegas for both of us, twice a year ~ although occasionally we'll grab a cheap, last-minute cruise because the price is right and we're only a 2-hour drive from any of the cruise ports here in Florida.

We've never been on a cruise. I'd like to try it some time but fear too much food, too expensive to drink, expensive for shore excursions. And would have to limit time in casino. So the VP in the casinos on ships is NG? that's our game.

I've only been on one cruise and I will say, I love both Vegas and cruises. However, I am not a fan of the tight staterooms on a cruise. For our honeymoon, wife and I went to vegas for 3 days...flew home...emptied our suitcases and repacked for a 7 day carribean cruise...yup, we did a back to back honeymoon. we flew cross-country to vegas and then back, and then down to Florida for the cruise. We did some awesome excursions...snorkelling with sharks, manta rays, catamaran to a secluded island for a bbq, and 2 person speed boat excursion to a secluded island. The speed boat excursion got me into some trouble with the wife as I was having way too much fun at the expense of her comfort. These little 2-seater boats were no bigger than 10 feet long. All the couples in the group got a boat to navigate. We had to follow the guide from the beach, cut theough the surf, and navigatr for about 30-45 minutes to the secluded beach. Let me say, the waves at the start point were big enough to catch several feet of air with these little boats. I did what any young man would do...I full throttled it and launched every wave. There is no padding on these boats and no seat belts...my wife was ready to kill me! Once we got to the destination, it was all good with the wife, as the scenery was absolute paradise! The sand on the beach was pink and the watet was crystal clear. We snorkelled in the reef and it was awesome! If you have never swam in the bahamas, or anywhere with barracuda, remember to remove all shiny jewelry...they will try to eat it and you do not want that to happen. Although, we did see a lot of cuda, we had no incidents. The return trip from the secluded beach, we ran into a brief rain storm, which in the bahamas, they are brief but fierce. I happened to be the only one in the group that brought swim goggles, so that made the pelting rain more bearable, especially while navigating full throttle back to shore. Even with my Tim Allen moment behind the wheel, my wife preferred the cruise way more than vegas...she was even seasick for the first couple days. Overall, it was a pretty awesome honeymoon adventure and I would be happy to take a cruise or vegas vacation anytime! Our problem with a cruise now is just trying to decide at what age is a good age to bring our kids along.

The very soon to be Mrs. has done numerous cruises with her girlfriends, me never as I use the excuse my 7 years in the Navy gave me enough experiene doing cruises.

Needless to say she has now been to Vegas with me 6 times and loves it but she wants to go on a cruise since it's been a while. Our flight out to Napa for our honeymoon has a 2 hour layover in Vegas unfortunately, lol, she doesn't understand how that happend when I booked it.

My fear is cruises lock you in and restrict you while Vegas doesn't. I guess I'll learn in March as she is planning the cruise she wants for her birthday. Oh yeah, no way out as it has already become a couples' cruise.

Prior to meeting my current GF, I was 3x yearly to LV. She went once a year to Jamaica. We were both hooked and thought our destinations were paradise and that it didnt get any better.

I took her to LV twice in the last year and she took me to Jamaica. We both loved the other persons choice and now we go to LV twice a year and Jamaica once. ITs a great compromise, totally different vacations and everyones asks which we prefer and we say which ever one is next!

That's it right about there. Two cool obsessions, each unique.

I don't ever want to get sooo into something that it shuts off the world, other options, new experiences, and heaven knows I certainly appreciate what it's like to have blinkers on at times. Terri says I'm getting that way about Hawai'i now. So I guess other than mandatory work trips over we'll mix up the vacay thing for a year or two. I'm thinking Europe or Central America in '14; we're hoping to send Terri over to Oz for Thanksgiving with her sister in '14 as it's been a few years since she did that.

Totally agree! We all tend to be creatures of habit at times and need for force ourselves out of the proverbial comfort zone. I keep telling the GF that in two or three years we need to switch things up again and try some other destinations. Our LV vac has kind of become a Nevada vac since we stay off strip and dont frequent the mega resorts as much, so we may visit a high end resort in Arizona next year and try it out.

    Cruising

We do both. Vegas in May and a cruise in the winter. We love them both. This will be our third year in a row we are taking a cruise on Norwegian. CET gave us a free one 3 years ago and now we are hooked. Of course that goes for Vegas as well.:peace:

We cruised southern Caribbean in April, Canada in June and sailing to Mexico in November.

We vacationed in Las Vegas in July and returning in October.

The two experiences are very different from each other, but we both enjoy the variety, but I probably lean toward Vegas and he leans toward cruising.

Cruised on celebrity, it was great and loved the carribean. Would go Agian in a heartbeat. However my wife hated being out in the middle of no were and gets upset even if I mention "cruising". I will say that at 32 years old I was one of the youngest people on the cruise.

My wife loves Disney World, so for us it's a family trip to the happiest place on earth, and one or two to Vegas.
