    Hi all,

I am planning a bachelor party for a buddy of mine and we will be in Vegas from Jan 31 (Friday) to Feb 3 (Tuesday). SuperBowl is on that Sunday. There will probably be 6 of us.

I currently have the Mirage booked because I had an offer from MLife. But I have a couple questions:

    1. I was wondering if you all think the Mirage is a good choice? If not, any other ideas for hotels that would be well-suited for a group of 6 of us? I imagine we won't spend much time in our rooms.

    2. Anyone know if the pool at the Mirage or any others will be open at that time?

    3. Any ideas for things to do during the day other than gamble and do sight-seeing? I was thinking we could golf one day, but do remember it being a little cold at that time. So that may actually answer my question about the pool.

    Thanks for your help!
    Ryan

Rooms are hard to get that weekend.

There will be lots of "SuperBowl" parties. Pay per person.

    Where are all 6 staying?

We will all 6 stay at the Mirage. I have one two queen bed room booked now. May book another quickly before they sell out.

I thought about going the suite route at the Mirage, but all are sold out.

You may want to see what kind of rate you can get at the Rio for the masquerade suite. It's 1600 sf and has 3 separate bedrooms I think.

you're going to have a hard time booking any suites that weekend as they will all be reserved for players.

Mirage is probably as good as hotel as any for 6 guys.

You'll need 3 rooms unless you want a sausage fest...:poke:

Maybe consider changing your dates to a week earlier or later since you'll pay top $$ for everything since it's SB weekend.

The pool should be open as they usually only close it in Dec for maint but realize that the desert is cold that time of year so it's not pool weather unless you actually want to be in the water and swimming and then right back out and to your room.

I would switch the weekend, but I'm trying to hook to to my attendance to a conference the weekend after. Got a good deal on one room at the Mirage from an MLife offer and will pay the going rate for the other. Turns out the rate isn't too bad right now, so I'm glad I got them booked. I requested they be adjoining rooms, so hopefully that works out.

For my BP, 10 guys came and we stayed at MGM. We got 5 connecting rooms and kudos to MGM for coordinating that. It made life so much easier having 2 guys per room.

Mirage could do the same and would be a good place for 6 guys (possibly 3 rooms); however, it will be crazy staying there SB weekend as all the cool hangouts will be overly crowded as well as the sportsbooks. If you can, I'd switch to the following week 7-11 FEB. If not, you have lots of time to plan.

Regarding fun activities, I'd call up Spearmint Rhino and get their free limo service (all you have to do is tip the driver and your crew will get free admission through their VIP entrance). I'd definitely golf as the weather is OK in February (a little cool and windy but warmer than Northeast US). If you have rental cars, I'd hit up Las Vegas Paiute Wolf Course. If not, there are many courses near Mirage that would enjoy catering to your group. You could hit up the Gun Range as well. Can't comment on the pool...

Mirage is a great location on the strip.

Dumb question, MLife shows me right now for your dates a resort queen for $127.20/night. Add $25 daily resort fee all in for 3 nights before tax is $456.60 split by 2 guys $228.30 plus tax or just over $70/night/guy. If at all possible get 3 of those rooms then no nuts to butts in the bed or sleeping on the floor and everyone has a place to crash with room to move around?

Mega pools will not be having any action at that time, it's more about the dance clubs. It is a premium weekend so a premium price tag comes with that scenario if you are considering botle service.

Check out the top of Stratosphere and what you can do up there. Did X-Scream and Big Shot in July at my bach party, very cool. I've read on here about gun ranges.

You can also do dream racing which may be a cool thing to get the bachelor if everyone antes up or everyone can do. If you think of the amount you spend on gambling and drinking, just retool where some of the financing goes. Ride along laps would probably be cool as crap since driving at whatever speed they do I couldn't even imagine doing.

    Check out the website: http://www.dreamracing.com/price/

    Hope this helps.

Pool really isn't a factor that time of year. Most close mid October with the exception of a few heated pools and even they will be pretty empty.

Personally, I would spend less for the rooms and look at Ballys, Flamingo, Luxor or Harrahs. That way you don't have to spoon with your buddies. If anything, split it 3 people to a room. 1 in each bed and 1 on the floor. Floor guy pays less (most groups have 1 or 2 guys that will volunteer)

You can also get a room with 4 queen beds. Just put the mattresses on the floor and presto, 4 queen beds. 2 guys sleep on the box-springs.

Mirage is fine. But my favorite for bachelor parties have always been MGM and MB. In that order. Both have better and more dining and nightlife options than Mirage and both have great pools. They also just have fun atmospheres with a lot of upmarket and downmarket type stuff which is good for a guys trip.

6 people in the room is going to be hard. I know we used to squeeze a lot of people into a room when we were younger too but that's really pushing it. You can get one cot, and the cots are super comfortable. But they are pretty big and I don't think you can fit more than one in the room. So that makes 5 spots and someone is going to be stuck sleeping on the floor which sucks. Try to get 2 connecting rooms and you'll be comfortable.

If you go the CET route, I'd recommend Planet Hollywood. The casino has a really, really fun vibe. There's a lot of talent always there as well.
