I know it's not Vegas, but close enough lol. I got some questions about Harrahs Laughlin. I was there 2 years ago, but wondering if some things have changed.

Last the we were there Chances Bar (center bar) was 7/5 10 play DDB which is absolutely brutal, so I hope that has changed. Secondly do they still have that stupid iPad system where you might get a drink an hour at best? Lastly I have a north tower riverview booked, but looking on the website it appears the north tower deluxe may be recently renovated? Thanks for any help!

They do still have the iPad drink system. I remember the drinks would never stop and was never without one the whole time there. Tip the person taking your order as well as the CW when you get your drink and all will be fine!

The North Tower rooms, most have been renovated, but, this is also the family tower so there will be lots of kids slamming doors and running up and down the halls.

I'll be there Friday the 13th for a bit, so I'll give you the payouts on the Bar Top VP when I return, or if I can grab a free wifi signal somewhere. DDB is my game, but I'll mostly be playing that on the coin droppers over at The Riverside!

I find that access to the casino should not be a factor (it isn't like MGM hallway walk), so don't use that as a consideration (ex. Central tower gives easiest access to casino)

My last North tower room was small (220 sq. ft.) and not renovated (last Christmas), however, the Central tower was about 320 sq. ft. plus with better furnishings and beddings (we had double beds). That would be my choice (with a river view if you can).

Good choice on the room. Nothing fancy, but no kids!
If you love chicken fried steak as much as I do; the Beach Cafe there at Harrah's has an awesome one. There's a breakfast or dinner version. Both are excellent and cut-with-a-fork tender.

The buffet there is just so-so. :rolleyes2:

I'm heading to Harrah's Laughlin the first week of October.

Anybody know if the pools/beach are still fine to indulge in around that time? I would assume the temps should still be in the mid to upper 80s.

Just so happens I love chicken fried steak! Also sincerely appreciate you checking those pay tables at the center bar there. Last time I was there it 7/5 10 credit, would settle for 8/5 5 credit. That being said VPfree2 says there is 10/6 DDB at Aquarius.

Make sure you head over to the Golden Nugget sometime on Saturday and play a bit there. At 7pm they are giving away a new Camaro and a few cash or free play prizes. :grrr:

There now, a bank of 10 machines with multi full pay games. Location is good, right in front of the splash.

    Hit a royal already :)

Not to side track the thread or anything, but I have a couple questions about Harrah's in Laughlin. I'm not usually a TR player, but we have a local Harrah's casino and I have a few points on my TR card. I plugged in my card number and it says I can get 4 free nights at Laughlin in December, 25-29. Well, it's kind of hard to beat free and we've always wanted to check out Laughlin so this seems it might be a good time to do so.

My questions are, do they (or any other casinos in Laughlin) offer Pai Gow Poker? We recently learned to play and have fallen in love with it. Good way to play a long time on not usually a lot of cash....and what are the limits if anyone knows?

Also, what are the BJ conditions like in the town generally? I'm a low player, $10 or so and the wife is comfortable with $5.

    Thanks!

Yes, sadly it still is. Crappy payout and must play 10 quarters. Same for the other bar over in the non-smoking casino as well.

Played all weekend on a DDB bank w/progressives for the top payouts. Hit them off and on for 3 days and NOT even a single 4OAK of ANYTHING! :grrr:

As stated on VPfree2, these are 97.87% DDB, but the payback is actually higher due to the progressive options were greater than normal play.

Harrah's has Pai Gow, as do most of the other casino's in Laughlin. Don't know the limits, but I bet if you asked nicely, they could raise them for you.

As far as Laughlin and it's table games, Harrah's has the highest mins around. $15 BJ is the lowest, but I did see a $10 table at 9 am this weekend. The Riverside, Colorado Belle, Pioneer, and Edgewater all have $5 BJ tables in the day time. Weekends may be higher.

Thanks for the info Smo... we are just gonna stay at Harrahs since I can get the rooms comped (a shock to me!) and play other places that are more to our pocketbooks as we love the fun of low limit and being able to play longer for our bankrolls. And as for raising the limits, I think I misspoke, I meant what are the minimums...I would think $5 at most other places hopefully

Just booked our room for Christmas..4 nights comped in the Central Tower with a River View! Thanks for the info. I may post about the VP and Pai Gow conditions, as well as BJ if I can get around to it. I always try to find time to to other things than overindulge and gamble, but it never seems to work out...

Oh, anyone know of any good cigar stores/lounges in town?

Every casino in Laughlin has Pai Gow poker and should be no problem finding $5 tables for any table games.
