    Hi all,
Long story short, i'm a strictly slot player who is platinum with mlife. Trouble is, my mom and dad who have similar slot play get a lot more when staying with CET, they just made diamond.

I am thinking of giving CET a shot but to increase my value, want my wife and i to play on the same card.
Is this ok with CET? What if my wife hits a handpay playing on my card?

They dont have linked accounts like mlife does so this is the reason for playing on one card. From my calculations, we should be able to hit diamond with two strong trips playing on one card.

Is it worth it to give up on mlife....i'm currently getting 3nts at bellagio, 200fp, 200fnb total...and typically earn 60k in tier credits over 3 days. I get about the same at the wynn, 3 nts, 300fp, 2 buffets...

I've been a loyal mlife player and know all the reasons to stay at mlife...i am strictly looking for better upfront comps, staying at maybe at paris or caesars.

What is it that you're chasing (in other words what are your parents getting for similar play)? I ask because CET properties while generous with rooms, are stingy with anything above and beyond that. I actually made the switch the other way, but I play a mix of most everything. MGM has better rooms overall and I've never got much more than some FP from CET and it's not consistent. That said I much prefer CETs system vs. the mess that is Mlife, but beyond that I think you might not be gaining much going to CET.

It sounds like you are doing pretty good with MLife with the 3 nights, free play and food credit...

If you switch to CET you will probably go from 3 nights free to being able to get 5 nights free, but those two extra nights will likely be at the cost of the free play and food credit.

And until you set yourself up as a Diamond cardholder that will probably be 5 nights somewhere like Harrah's or Bally's, a big step back from Bellagio. Plus the question will be if you are going to get room offers from Caesars and if they do send you offers will they be for the good rooms or the crappy rooms - Caesars might have some 4 and 5 star quality rooms and be the jewel of the CET empire, but they also have some 2 and 3 star quality rooms that are pretty aged and run down and those are usually the ones they give out to the entry level Diamond card holders.

I'm not saying don't do it, just that it really sounds like you have it pretty good at MLife right now and you are talking about having to bump up your play and spend more in the hopes that you might get better from CET...

It doesn't matter whose card is in if you hit a hand-pay. For all they know, the card could have been left in the machine by the previous player.

Would you wife ever want to travel by herself. Me my BF just used to use his card - which worked great until I took my first solo trip - and all the benefits I had earned I couldn't use, because they were attached to my BF's card.

Wow. 60k in tier credits is what you need for one night comped at the Aria. You're doing amazing if you're getting 3 nights comped at the Bellagio plus free play and resort credit.

The free rooms at CET are definitely a downgrade from MLife room. Especially comparing the Bellagio to anything but Caesars Augustus Tower.

Assuming you get Diamond at CET by hitting their daily bonus of 2500 for 5000 tier credits earned in a day, the cheapest way to make Diamond is $50k coin-in on slots.

Assuming you achieve Platinum at MLife by playing non-specialty slots, Platinum is achieved with $60k coin-in. (please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that's right).

Costs more to make Platinum at MLife. And, $10k may be significant.

    Comparing comps:
    You should check out this:
    https://www.mlife.com/pages/comparison.html

For every $60k coin-in at MLife (assuming you're platinum) you get $260 in Express Comps AND $260 of Point Play (no specialty slots games which would make these totals different).

For every $60k coin-in at CET you get $120 in comps OR $60 in slot credits.

You'll be giving away comp money moving to CET. I doubt their additional freeplay can make up for the loss of express comps and point play that you'd already be earning at MLife + the freeplay and resort credits they already give you. But, you never know.

Not to mention the higher house advantage that CET is notorious for. So, regardless how much money you come home with in your pocket, it will always be less than what you would have potentially walked away with from MLife. So, the percent return on your CET $50k coin-in will be less than your MLife $60k coin-in. That just brings those numbers closer together.

Personally, I don't think it's worth it. I like the nicer rooms and the nicer casinos at MLife. And, you get better comp money from MLife over the course of your stay than you would get out the CET freeplay that you'd potentially be able to earn one day.

After being a CET slot and table player for 12 years or so, I made the switch to MGM about 2 years ago. I was a diamond player for about 6 of those years. Instead of 5 nights at a CET property I get 3 nights with Mlife plus $100 in FP. Overall, I'm glad I made the switch.

I made the switch about 4 years ago and do way better with MLife.
I play mostly table games and the last time I was at Paris playing 3 card poker with my wife.
I asked the floorman if I could put her action on my account and he said absolutely not even though I clearly was funding her play.
They have allowed me to do that at MGM and Aria many times since.

We always play with other cards. Not an issue.

If you are worried about a hand pay, play lower payout machines. Personally, I have had multiple hand pays with my wifes card. There was a long thread about this a few weeks ago. Not an issue. I would TAKE it out and have your card handy when they come to pay.

If you just want some CET free rooms, drop a hundy on your next visit and you will get them. Do not count on getting much more though.

That's not entirely true. I am Diamond with CET and have a host. When we want to go to Vegas I call my host and he books a room for us in the Augustus tower at Caesars. We also usually charge around $600 - $700 to our room which our host clears at the end of our trip. We just spent 9 nights from August 2 - 11th at Caesars for free and had the $400 we had charged cleared as well as they gave us tickets to a dinner party with entertainment by Matt Goss and $350 freeplay. As a Diamond member, you also get 2 free show tickets every month and a one-time voucher for $100 off a dinner.

Perhaps you're spending more than he is. He's averaging around $20k coin-in per trip (back calculated from his 60k TC comment). At MLife, he's eligible for around $1200 in comps (assuming 15% theo and 40% of that is given in comps).

That wouldn't get him near what you get.

You may get "more" but you have to put up with CET's crappy properties. It's it worth it? Not a chance IMO. You can't compare staying at the B with anything CET has to offer even CP. I think you'll end up disappointed and wishing you had never made the switch.

Just do both. Why restrict yourself to one group of properties? MGM has nicer hotels but CET has a lot of good things you'll enjoy including restaurants and shows. The marginal increase you'll get by staying completely loyal to just MGM is probably much less than you'll get by having history with both properties.

And yeah it's true you'll probably get less upfront from CET other than easy rooms. But don't discount that. The easy rooms are a useful option to have in your pocket even if you know you can stay comped at MGM props.

Agree. It's pretty easy to get free rooms at CET. I give most of my play to M Life - but play enough at CET to keep the free rooms coming. That way if I decide to do a 4/5 night stay I can use an M Life offer, which are normally 3 nights, and stay the other 1 or 2 nights at CET.

I would think there are a lot of variables that would determine if a certain player will be better comped at MGM or CET including, their average coin-through, number of trips per year, etc.

For example, four trips a year with average coin-through each trip around $10,500 could likely get you Diamond at CET with free weekend rooms at pretty much all their properties and the Diamond perks (lounges, dinner, etc.) plus some occasional free play $100-$300 or special events and such.

I don't think that kind of play would get you much at MGM props, right? But, if you're a slightly bigger player than that, you still might only be Diamond at CET with not much extra comp-wise, but maybe at that point you could do better at MGM.

I also think if you're a player at the $10,500 coin-through level four times a year, you are probably stupid to split your play between the two because you wouldn't be big enough at either that way, right?

I just wish MGM had a property in Reno/Lake Tahoe so I could ramp up my play...rather than have to go to Vegas to get my play in...
That's really where CET beats them out (they have more properties, more places)
With CET you can put in 2500 TC per day to get their 5000 TC bonus (That's what we do, once per month)
For MGM, we just use the MyVegas app, lol.

Actually, looking back over it, I calculated it incorrectly in a previous post. The cheapest you make Diamond would be $25k coin-in, and you'd need the 5000 tier credit bonus for earning 2500 tier credits in a day (I thought the bonus was 2500 and not 5000). The most expensive Diamond would be is $75k with no tier bonuses.

But, if you're spending $10k for a 4 day visit, you're probably spending about $2500 coin-in per day, which is only around 500 tier credits per day and you get an extra 125 bonus points for that and you'd earn about 2500 TCs each trip. So, you'd need about 6 trips like this to earn Diamond. That turns out to $60k coin-in and the same requirements to get to Platinum at MLife.

Earning a 1k TCs in one day give you a different bonus level and would make it easier to achieve Diamond. That would require $5k coin-in in a single day, though.

It would be the same at MLife, except you'd get more express credits and pointplay and you'd be staying at a nicer property with nicer casinos.

Not stupid, but the combined comps from MLife and CET would definitely not be as good as the comps from just one or the other.

Yah, I was assuming a few 1,000 TR days each trip for the 1,000 TR bonus on 3 night trips. I still feel like that kind of play get's you more at CET than MGM. Maybe I'm wrong, never having tried it...

You could do it with 2 days and $10k. If you get your $5k coin-in per day, then you're looking at 4k TCs per trip and 4 trips to get to Diamond.

But, I don't know many people that go to Vegas for just two days!
