I'm sure you know how it works. It doesn't matter how many times I've been to Vegas, book a trip then continually search the internet for any Vegas info I can find. Always in search of that one piece of information that you may have missed the last time. Vegas message boards, Vegas blogs, Vegas newspapers, Vegas, vegas, vegas.......

Well, as I was doing just that earlier today I just happened to visit an old Vegas forum that I haven't been to in a while and I seen a thread on sequential royal flushes. This caught my eye since I hit one of these royals at Lady Luck Casino in SW Pa last month on a $.25 machine. Fortunately it was on a machine that offered the 50,000 quarter payout for sequentials. :) I had to draw two to complete the royal. I posted a picture last month when debating on when I should make a return trip to Vegas since my bank roll had been replenished. To my surprise I have now found out (I assume this is correct) that the odds of hitting a sequential are 1 in 4,000,000 and 1 in every 120 royals. WOW! Talking about blind luck. Royals are hare enough to hit, chasing something like this would be equivelant to hunting snipe?

So, has anyone else hit a sequential? If so, was it on a machine that offered the sequential payout? Have you ever seen any VP machines in Vegas that offers the sequential payout? In the thread I was reading I believe they mentioned GVR having some, but that was about it. I've hit 11 royals so far with this one the only sequential. Let me just say that I feel very fotunate to have been in the right place at the right time for once.

Out of probably 40 royals, never have I had a sequential; however, I've had two dealt, and also drawn off of 1,2,3, and 4 cards...

Ms. Gecko, with the able assistance of Vern the Turtle, hit her first and only royal at the Ellis Island bar last Halloween! We later heard about the sequential bonus offered at some places, but have yet to see one. You can bet we'll be back there this Halloween!

The reverse sequential! I will have to ask them at Lady Luck if A-10 is also a 50,000 coin payout. Nice hit!

I've never had a dealt royal, but remember drawing 1 and 2 needed cards on most of my royals if not all of them. I'm not sure about 3 but I'm sure that I have never drawn 4 to hit a royal.

Oh, BTW, she was dealt 3 to the royal! The drunks a couple seats down yelled, "let the turtle play it!" That's all it took!

Vern the Turtle! I might have to think about taking an assistant with me to Vegas????? Oh, the possibilities.

I just noticed she was dealt the three inside cards. That is what I was dealt when I hit mine. Interesting.

    Royals

Have hit 19 royals but to be honest I can't really say if any were sequential or not. I have had one dealt to me.

All station casinos in Vegas offer the 50,000 coin bonus for a sequential Royale (either way) on certain machines.

This was DW's first and only Royal thus far. Got this one at the Plaza back in Dec. We only started really playing VP a few months earlier. I am still waiting for my first.

I haven't been playing long and I have yet to hit a Royal Flush. The friend that I always go with to Vegas has hit 10. One of the luckiest people I've ever met... he's been playing about as long as I have.

Unless the unit says something about "Reversible Royals" or something similar, probably not.

I have only hit 3 Royals, so no, I haven't got one. My dealt Royal was just a pair of positions switched though, TQJKA of clubs. If I ever do hit one, I hope I am on the Circus Circus Reversible Royal progressive unit, which I may play someday since it's > 100% long-term when factoring the sequentials in. I doubt I will ever play any other Sequential Royal unit in my life.

And nice hit plus good timing! Sequential Royal units are usually pretty hard to find.

I've have 65 royals in 11 years of play. I've never had a sequential royal. One royal was dealt. Six have been drawn from holding only one card - three times holding just the Ace of Diamonds - boy does that set up some expectations when I hold that card and draw.

That thread on the other board that talks about the expectation of hitting a sequential about every 120 royals, every 60 royals if it pays on reversible royals. So I figure I am due for one soon. The next time I hit Red Rock, I'll be sure to try for it.

My Royal total has been stuck on 16 for three years now. I have had two sequential Royals but not on a machine that it mattered. One was dealt.

Playing dollars, I did hit a suited Royal in clubs for $6,400+, but jeez even that was four years ago. I need me some Royal luck!

The Palms has some quarter machines with 50,000 credit payout for sequential royal. A few years back, had 10-J-x-K-A dealt with 4 spades to the royal, needing just the Q in the middle. Let me tell ya, that was a pretty exciting draw! I think I waited a bit because I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Finally, hit the draw button and DUD! :grrr: To hit the equivalent of 12 1/2 royals at one time would have been something else.

When I got my first phone with a camera I started shooting photos of my VP hands. After about two years I got tired of taking pictures. There are some of the pictures I took at http://www.videopokerhelp.net/vpHands.html . The only hand I have never had is a dealt sequential RF. The closest I have come is Ks Qs Js 10s 9s dealt. I have also been dealt a low sequential SF twice Ah 2h 3h 4h 5h. If you play enough you will see it all.

    Sequential RF formula is =PERMUT(52,5)/8
In a 52 card deck dealing 5 cards you get 311,875,200 possible permutations. The /8 represents 4 suits dealt two ways. Left to right and right to left. The answer is 38,984,400

Question is: Do you think you've played 39M rounds of VP yet? I feel like I play a LOT and I'm not even sure I have played a Royal cycle's worth this year; it's probably close. Definitely no Royal this year yet. :( I'd take one w/a 8X multiplier though.

@Undathesea Keep plugging away. When you least expect it, it will come up.

@Higgiel For me, when I hold one ace, the royal possibilities don't even cross my mind since I usually play DDBP. Always focused on the quad aces.

@Joe I hear you about the dry spells. I was on a 4 year royal drought at the $.25 level before this year. I've got 2 so far this year.

@CF84 I play at Palms occasionally so I'll look for these machine next time I stop in.

@5 Card That is the odds of being dealt a sequential, correct?

@Tringlomane I have mixed feelings on the idea of knowing how many hands of VP I have played over the years. Surprise at the amount of hands or disappointment for how long I've sat in front of VP machines. lol

The Palazzo has several sequential royal VP machines. I believe the payout was progressive (over $14,000 at the $0.25 level when I was there in June).

I will check that out next month. It will be interesting to see if the progressive is still growing or if it's been hit. Maybe run a twenty thru one.
