I see a lot of people talking about comps they have got. I was in Vegas early may, stayed at Wynn, I went and got cards from most of the casinos on the strip and then signed up on their websites when I got home.

I have not got anything in the mail but I really was not expecting anything. We only got 550 points on my card in 4 days at Wynn. I do not gamble a whole lot and neither does the wife. On our next trip the 13th-18th, at Encore, we are taking 2k to gamble total but if the slots are tight I can't see us spending all of it. More than likely we would gamble 1,200-1,500.

Should I expect getting anything comped with that low of play? Also, people say things about having a host. Is it worth my time to try to get a host and how would I go about doing that? I have been emailing a concierge and after a couple emails they just stopped returning my emails. I was trying to find out if he could set up a ride from the airport to the casino and a ride back to the airport when I left and has not responded. I also emailed him after that about possibly setting up a reservation at Sinatra and Le Reve (think its spelled like that) because we want a night that we dress up, go to a nice restaurant and show, again never returned my email. I guess I just wonder if he pulled my name in the player system and seen that I don't gamble a lot and just feels like its a waste of his time because I'm not a High Roller or what.

You are a low roller. Do not expect much from Wynn. CET would have offered some free rooms with even less play. MGM would not.

If you got a card from CET, I would at least login to the site, and pick some dates to see what you might get, pricewise. DO NOT, REPEAT - DO NOT go by just offers. Enter dates to see what happens.

If you are talking Wynn on $3,000 coin in (500 points), I honestly don't think a host will be able to do anything for you. Wynn/Encore of all places will even require a higher level of play in order to attract a host vs other casinos. What you might qualify for your level of play is mailed or emailed marketing offers for slightly reduced rate rooms in the future (not for your current trip).

I never heard of a concierge setting up rides to the hotel. If you qualified, a host (not a concierge) would be setting up a limo ride from the airport. This would require a level of play at least 20 times your level. I never heard of concierge setting up a shuttle ride or cab ride to the airport. That is usually up to you to arrange.

About the non returned emails, yes, it is possible that it is due to your level of play.

Wynn won't do much for you in terms of comps at that level, but the concierge certainly should--very disappointing at that property that you have not received better communication. The concierge is not typically looking at your level of play so that is hard to explain away.

As mentioned if you played at all at CET you will probably see some comped rooms on the calendar. But if you are booked into the Wynn, you probably won't be interested in staying at any of those places.

What is a concierge expected to do regarding getting him to the hotel? There are four choices... 1) limo ride (he or she is clearly not qualified for that. 2) Shuttle bus - There is nothing to "set up" here, you just get on a shuttle bus and pay at the airport. 3) Taxi - once again, there is nothing for a concierge to do, you just wait on the taxi line. 4) Rental car - that isnt a concierge item, that is up to the traveller to arrange.

So what are you expecting a concierge to do as far as getting him or her a ride from the airport?

As mentioned, Wynn/Encore probably isn't going to do much for you. But you very well might be able to get "casino rate" (which at Wynncore - unlike many other places - can often amount to a decent savings over rack rate. Call them, ask for casino marketing, and ask them what they can do for you. It's possible you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Best of luck (and great choice in hotels)!

The concierge isn't supposed to base his job on your level of play, that's for hosts and VIP services to do. The concierge is supposed to assist any guest, especially for vanilla requests like restaurant reservations and at least directing his limo request to that department (I assume the OP knows he is paying for that ride).

But yeah, the 550 points at Wynn is next to nothing, especially over 4 days. I earned around 1000 points in just an hour or two when we stopped in there during our last trip. I haven't received anything at all either. I put some of that play on my girlfriend's card though so she could hit the requirement for some new player promo, I don't remember how much.

Yeah the setting up a ride I was seeing if the offered a shuttle because I know some places had a shuttle that ran. I wasn't really looking at a limo ride but something other than a taxi.

So with my type of play CET properties are the best? Does it matter what one or if I use my TR card I will get stuff from all of them? I know I live about 4 hours from a Harrahs and I believe that is a CET property so I can keep my points active by making a trip there once if I'm not going to make it to Vegas in 6 months.

Yes Harrahs is a CET property and you can keep points active by going there. For your play I would say CET is the way to go. Also did you go downtown? Golden Gate gives free rooms for simply signing up for the players club. Also no matter where you are staying charge meals to your room. That can earn you a few points here and there too.

No we did not make it downtown that trip. We are going to go down there for sure this trip. We really wanted to see Fremont street the last trip but got overwhelmed with stuff to do on the strip and then BAM we had to fly back home :/ before we knew it.

I see that your profile lists the one trip to Las Vegas, though it sounds as though you still have sort of a rookie perspective. No insult intended by that, but you will just have to accept that traveling to Vegas and staying on the Strip is just not like traveling to most cities. Most of the hand-holding done by Strip properties is focused on people with a history of gambling at a certain level, which is where casino hosts come into play. It's not that Wynn doesn't want your money and won't provide a good time for you again there, but their systems are not oriented around typical leisure travelers.

A concierge desk at a Vegas property is usually more like an information desk elsewhere. They will get you started and point you in the right direction, particularly when you're on-site, but normally you would need to make your own arrangements for shows (via a call to the box office or purchase from a ticket vendor such as vegas.com). Restaurants can be called directly or booked online through sites such as Open Table. And airport-to-Strip transportation is something that you'll need to figure out in advance: find a bus, catch a taxi, use one of the shared shuttle buses (which usually cost about $7 and are not affiliated with a particular hotel), take a limousine or get yourself a rental car. Personally, I would advise just sticking with a taxi in your case ... fairly convenient to find one at the airport, not too expensive and will be the most direct way of getting where you are staying.

I do see that Wynn has a separate page on its website touting their pre-trip concierge service, so it seems odd to me that they didn't at least respond by email with the same sort of information that I just provided. It's possible that it isn't a true hotel concierge but just a shared email address that is supposed to be monitored by an off-site reservations staff.

    Hope this info is helpful.

If you ask a LV hotel to book a limo and your host cannot do it on a complimentary basis, they ALWAYS direct you to the concierge to book an outside town car/limo for you. It doesn't sound like the OP wants to wait in line for a taxi, he wants prearranged transportation which is something the concierge handles at better hotels. Yes, he could book with Presidential online but maybe he just wants to save himself the trouble. That's what a concierge is there for. If he were staying at the 4 Seasons or the MO, it would be handled by now. I'm just surprised it isn't at the Wynn, that's all.

the fact that the OP said his contacts to this point have all been via email is what made me think that it's not truly the Wynn concierge that has been responding. and I got the impression that k2 was not interested in a limo but was thinking of the sorts of courtesy shuttles that one sees for upscale hotels at most major airports. it's possible that off-strip hotels in Las Vegas offer those, but the Strip properties all use the shared shuttles, right?

The only thing that the concierge did was noted with my reservation that I want a strip view. They said they could make reservations for dinner and a show but when I emailed him about it he never responded.

I agree that I am still a Vegas rookie. We did pretty much no planning when we went and got way overwhelmed and just walked around to do sight seeing. I know after this trip to Vegas we won't be back out there until late July early August next year. I hope to get my fill to hold me over until the but I doubt that's possible.

At the risk of sounding like a shill for CET, if you ARE likely to visit any of their Midwest properties near your home in the coming year, then you would definitely be wise to at least think about playing some at, say, Paris or Caesars when you are in Vegas. But do keep in mind that even the top tier at CET is not going to measure up to Wynn.

I don't mean to be harsh, but 550 points at Wynn over 4 DAYS? Planning to gamble $2K over 6 DAYS on your next trip a year from now? I'm sorry honey, but the Wynn wouldn't even blink and notice you if you got 5,000 points over a few hours at their casino, let alone 550 over 4 days. And unless you are someone who is a proven BIG spender with the non-casino charges (hotel, restaurants, clubs, shopping @ Chanel), the concierge won't bother with you either. Wynn is not the place for you. You stand a better chance of getting some level of comp from a basic CET property, or maybe one of the off strip Station hotels.

Yeah 5000 points in a day, let alone a few hours, is enough to get you a comped room and probably a few hundred bucks in FP on a marketing offer from the Wynn. While I agree 550 points in a trip let alone a day isn't going to do squat for you at the Wynn, a few thousand points a day will get you some pretty solid comps from the best property in Vegas.

Yeah I can't imagine 5000 points in one day lol. I'm not hurting financially but the thought up gambling more than a 2 week paycheck in 1 day I don't think I could do it.

Sometimes folks get lucky. On a recent visit, I hit a $2,000 handpay with only $100 in. Yea, should have gone to bed, but I did not go there to sleep - I went there to gamble. Kept playing, and almost lost it all, and hit $3,000. Kept playing well in to the night - probably had 20,000 points in before it was all said and done, and still had a just under $3k in my pocket.

Anyways, you can easily get to 5,000 if you have enough little wins along the way. It is all about coin in/money bet - not about your original bankroll.
